Hi.

Excellent theme! Just perfect for what I needed. I have a question.

Is there a way to remove the white frame around the fancybox gallery?

WPExplorer

Glad you like it ;)

Yes it’s easy to remove the border. You need to edit js/fancybox-init.js

Hi,

Thanks for the excellent theme. One question, For mobile, can I make all my galleries to view with ‘Masonry’ style? Is it something I can edit in ‘mobile.css’?

WPExplorer

You can’t do that via CSS because the masonry requires a different layout/javascript.

What you would have to do instead is edit single-galleries.php line 25:

get_template_part('includes/gallery', $wpex_gallery_style );

So instead of the default add a conditional:

// show meta defined gallery style on non mobile
if ( !wp_is_mobile() ) {
get_template_part('includes/gallery', $wpex_gallery_style );
} else {
// display masonry style for mobile devices
get_template_part('includes/gallery', 'masonry' );
}

This is perfect! Thanks!

Hi there,

Questions before buying about the Scroller:

1. Is there a way to delete this fancy auto move effect ? 2. the mouse scroll is really not that good on Chrome.. it’s not smoothy. Any reasons for that ? (works alright on Firefox & Safari) 3. One great feature would be to add a scrollbar as well, any plan for that ? (have a look on Photolux theme) 4. Is there a lazy loading feature on Scorller, like if I add 300 pictures for a customer ? Is there a maximum number of pictures ?

Thanks a lot

WPExplorer

1. I have a guide for this on my knowledgebase.

2. It seems good to me. But I will likely be changing this scroller real soon to a responsive Carousel instead. So maybe keep an eye out for the post WP 3.6 update.

3. You can’t add a scrollbar with the current setup because of how the HTML is setup. But my intension is to update it as said above. A scroller would be cool.

4. If you look at the demo there is a loading symbol on the top right. The theme actually waits for the whole page to load before displaying.

5. No max of photos. But if you have 300 lets say I would recommend maybe using the masonry style.

I can create a gallery with password?

Thanks

WPExplorer

Not at the moment. The next version should include support for this. It’s on my list of things to update!

Hi,

I’d like to use the Masonry feature to have a home page with a huge amount of images.is there a limit to the amount of images in a gallery or on the homepage gallery?

Thanks

WPExplorer

There is no limit. But if you want a crap-ton of images I would recommend maybe using the masonry style, then removing the default hidden content/loader (if you see the demo it waits for all images to load before showing) – then adding support for lazy load.

The theme will be updated soon, we’ll most likely be adding this in the future update. We just don’t have an ETA yet for the update date.

I think I’ve found the theme I want -looks great! But first I’m trying to figure out if I can add the gallery titles to their respective thumbnail images on the homepage – ideally in the rollover of the image. I’m happy to make edits to the theme if you think this is feasible, and if you could point me in the right direction, that would be awesome. Thanks!

WPExplorer

Of course it’s possible but like you said it would require editing the template. Unfortunately it’s too many edits to walk you through the steps.

Plus, we are thinking of releasing a giant update in the next 2-6 weeks with some major improvements including these hovers you seek. And exchanging the homepage carousel with a more modern/responsive one. Another reason I would refrain from assisting with these edits, because I will be doing them again my self soon ;)

Enjoying working with this theme a great deal. Is there a method, or any way to implement a method, to disable right clicking of images in the scrolling galleries? Plugins like ‘No Right Click’ seem to work for things like the website logo in the sidebar, but not the gallery images unfortunately.

WPExplorer

Glad you like it ;)

Does the following javascript work?

$(document).bind("contextmenu",function(e){
            alert(wpexLocalizeClick.Message);
            return false;
});
Default-user

Which file do I need to plant that javascript in?

WPExplorer

Sorry that is the wrong code….would be moer like this:

$(document).bind("contextmenu",function(e){
            alert('Right clicking not allowed');
            return false;
});

You can add to js/non_mobile_init.js or in a new file if you wish.

I really like this theme but I have a question…

My site is tristanpope.com and I want to be able to upload a gallery at a time and have each gallery display on a respective link.

I.E. All of my front page images currently would be one gallery and only display on the front page.

Then if you click Beauty on the link tabs to the left it loads the gallery only holding the Beauty images.

I do not want to have to make a page per photo.

Is that doable with this or would you suggest another theme for that?

Thank you!

Oh one other questions, will this also support videos? I need a page for my videography. :)

Thanks again!

Default-user

Yeah it would be awesome if we could at least post a featured image and it links to the video so it has the same effect.

Default-user

(hack jobing the video section for now ha)

So I decided to purchase this theme. I am running into really slow load time: http://www.tristanpope.com/portfolio/

http://www.tristanpope.com loads speedily so I am not sure.. maybe you know why this would be an issue?
WPExplorer

I did.. please see my comment above:

If you want to prevent the “loading” feature. You would simply set your right area to display block via CSS (its hidden by default then shown with javascript) and then hide/remove the loading symbol.
Default-user

No I def saw that, but where do I find that code though? I am not full sure I know where to go.

WPExplorer

Just add the following CSS to your site:

#galleries-wrap,
.body-hidden-sidebar.single-galleries #wrap,
#scroll_play_pause,
#masonry-pagination { opacity: 1; -moz-opacity: 1; -webkit-opacity: 1; }
#site-preloader { display: none; }

This Template donĀ“t have a LIKE ICON (to facebook likes) on posts of the Blog? =(

Default-user

So i can put this social links (like facebook likes) on my PhotoPro Blog by one of these plugins?

WPExplorer

You can either use a plugin for this or add them manually, but its not included by default.

Customizations are not included in the cost of the theme.

Default-user

Ok. Thank you! =D

Hi, this theme looks pretty cool. Can you tell me if it’s possible make the images compatible with retina screens? The thumb images are large in masonry mode (which I like) but they’re lower res when looking on a new macbook. I’m considering buying this one or another theme similar which supports retina-display images. Thanks for your time!

BHillPhotos

Thanks a lot! Great theme.

WPExplorer

The main concern is there is an issue with the retina system I’ve been using not working 100% with caching plugins because it creates images “on the fly”. I need to work out the kink first before I can do this ;0

BHillPhotos

Thanks. Just checking in to see if you’ve made any progress. I’d love to see the thumbnails in masonry mode as crisp as the large fancybox images.

Quick question: Is there a way to increase the display size of the images in the slider?

WPExplorer

There isn’t a built-in option for this. You will have to edit your default image cropping sizes and any CSS related to the slider height.

Hi, I’m having a hard time setting up my homepage gallery, I’m trying to have just one masonry style gallery with all my images on the homepage. maybe I’m misreading the docs but I can’t find any info on the ‘single gallery post ID’ field under the theme options > home section. I’ve already set up my gallery and created a home page with a homepage template. Beyond that I’m stuck.

All i’m able to get at the moment is a single featured image on my homepage that links to my one gallery. Can you please point me in right direction?

Thanks, ~G

I have one more question: What file would I have to edit to shift over the masonry gallery images closer to the sidebar? I want to tighten up the space between my sidebar and my masonry gallery images. Thanks for all the help!

WPExplorer

This would be a CSS edit. Have a look in style.css ;)

Been working with this theme for a bit now, but recently, and I’m not sure if it’s with the latest IOS update, on an iPad, the masonry style will render fine on refresh of a page, but if you rotate the iPad, and then rotate back, it lines everything up in a single column. That’s the best way I can describe it. If you need a demo of what I mean, I can capture my screen or video it. Not sure if this is the script that’s borking? I have a pretty default theme setup, latest WP, latest theme files.

WPExplorer

I had a look and I do see the issue – you are correct, I didn’t see this before release, so it must be some sort of update ;(

I think I need to update it to re-fire the script on orientation change. If you would be kind enough to open a ticket we’ll get to this as soon as possible – http://wpexplorer.org – we have some plans for some other tweaks/updates so we would most likely take a bit of time to release all these updates at once.

Thanks for submitting the bug report to the support site!

stebesplace

Ticket submitted.

Related to stebesplace’s note above. I get that portrait iPad display bug too. I also submitted a ticket a week or two ago about a possibly related bug where the masonry galleries do not always display correctly on both the desktop browser or an iPad. Galleries will, randomly, sometimes appear zoomed on an iPad when they might display fine on a desktop, and shrunk down on a desktop when they might display fine on an iPad. Occasionally they will display correctly on both devices. Ticket response last night said you are aware of this bug, so I hope it gets a fix soon. I included image files of the error with my submission.

WPExplorer

Looks like someone has already responded to the ticket. Thanks for the submission. I’ll be sure to include a fix in the next udpate!

Hi, I’m just building my site with this theme. Is it possible to change the size of the scroller and Masonry? or, as a workaround, put the scroller or Masonry insade a page in stead of adding it to the menu?

Thanks!

WPExplorer

If you want to change the dimensions of any area you’ll have to edit your CSS accordingly. Unfortunately customizations are not included in the cost of the theme so it’s something you’ll need to do or hire a freelancer for.

Hello there,

I currently just purchased this theme and have been working on getting it configured. Can you help in that process? below is the link to the site. Also – how can i install instagram, facebook and twitter on the sidebar without having to install plugins?

WPExplorer

We can not assist in setting up your site for you, this isn’t included in the price of the template. If you have any specific questions on how something works or any issue, this we can assist with.

For the social links if you don’t want to add any plugins you’ll want to add your custom HTML in header.php – sidebar starts on line 82.

Thanks for the purchase!

Hello,

Congratulations for your theme

Before buying, I would like to know if it is easily possible to change the scroller for scrolling with a scroll like on this site: http://expositio.wpshower.com/?p=33

Is it also possible to put the images behind the menu at the scroll as the same example?

Thank you if you can tell me how to make this type of change

WPExplorer

Hi,

Its possible to add this sort of scroller style to the theme, but it is a fairly large configuration that you’ll need to hire someone to add. We don’t offer any customization services.

Hi, WPExplorer,

I have purchased your awesome WP template, PhotoPro, but I’m having some issues with the galleries.

1. I have read that some people have also had issues with the order in which gallery items are displayed. I visited some links you said to refer to, but they don’t seem to be valid for how this template is set up to create galleries. I have created a gallery within a page, and uploaded images within the gallery. The template has a feature to drag and drop which images go in which order, but it doesn’t seem to affect the order in how the images within the gallery are displayed. I have also tried changing the ID numbers of each image in the text edit of the gallery shortcode, but that does nothing, too. This is a problem both in masonry and slider modes of galleries. You can see my site here for reference: http://jack-of-all-trades.ca/joat_wp/

2. Some slider galleries that have quite a few images will briefly show a second row of images until the slider starts moving. (see logos page for an example). This isn’t a huge issue, but I’d like to fix that if I can.

3. When viewing some pages using the default template on mobile devices, the full width of the column is not visible. FOr example, on my page for Web design, I created a table of two columns of Web site snapshots that link to various Web sites I’ve designed for clients. This looks fine on my desktop, but I can only see the left column of snapshots if I am viewing the page on a mobile device. Can this be fixed? Is there some way I can have viewers switch from desktop/mobile views on mobile devices?

Thanks so much for your assistance.

WPExplorer

Thank you for the purchase!
