please ignore the last one.. i already found it, but the images are not opening in lightbox.

Dear AJ, I love this theme and before I buy it, I just want to make sure of two things:

1. Would it be possible to link from the home page (in the demo it shows moving images linking to galleries) to regular, full width pages instead to galleries?

2. I’d like to replace the slider on the home page with a slider like this: http://www.demo.purethemes.net/photopurepress/2011/06/green-with-envy/ (a click slides the next image from the list) and/or add this method to a static full with page. would that be possible?

Best regards, M.

1. Not sure what you are trying to do, but there is a plain post style available for Galleries – http://www.wpexplorer.me/premium/photopro/gallery/runway-behind-the-scenes/

2. Of course it would be “possible” – pretty much anything is ;) It just depends on your coding skills or who you hire to make the customization. This isn’t something I’d be able to assist with modifying though, because I currently am not taking on any freelance work.

Hi there,

I’m trying to shift the homepage slider closer to content-left but I can’t seem to do so using margin or padding.. should I be targeting home-wrap? Thanks

Default-user

Hey there, I figured out that the background image I’m trying to add in CSS is on top of the background I set in Theme Options, (attempting to add a gradient from menu to content) but when I add some margin or padding on the left it moves the slider over. Probably a rookie mistake, but help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Humm…everything looks great to me. Your changes look lovely. Did you fix up your issue?

I love the theme and it works very good!

Just a question… is it possibile to make the slider on the homepage ‘responsive’ full size? In weight is ok but I would like to see a full size in height (max 1600 pixels). I tried to modify css and jquery as you told to another user but it work only with fixed height… I would like to see slider in full size with any resolution (from 800×600 to 2560×1600). Is it possibile? Thank you

It does’n’t work.. adding max-height 100% the slider go out of the browser displaying image at 1600px height (the real height of the image).

WPExplorer

It might require some additional changes then what I mentioned above. I was merely giving you a start to help you out. This is a pretty massive customization, I can’t walk you through all the steps.

I saw that someone has already asked if is possibile to show on the homeoage scroller the pics from a category instead the featured one of the galleries.

Is it possible to have such files? I’ve tried writing to you from the themeforest profile page, but it seems you didn’t recieved my emails xD

WPExplorer

Hi there,

Sorry I never got your email to respond!

All support is done via my ticket site at WPThemehelp.com as mentioned in the documentation file. I should have that template somewhere, i’ll see I can find it. That was actually a paid job, but if I can dig it up I’d be glad to send it over ;)

Could you please open up a ticket for this?

Hi there!

I’m thinking of switching from my current theme to PhotoPro. There are few things I would like to find out first.

1. There is an issue with the scroller gallery I think… In live preview, if you go to scroller gallery under galleries, the side menu is closed; the scroller works fine. However, If I open the side menu (by clicking on a little plus sign), you can’t scroll right anymore, because the arrow is UNDER the menu. Is there a fix? Or, alternately, is it possible to lock the menu so it’s always open?

2. I would like to know how the tiled (masonry) gallery is populated with images? Are they automatically pulled from posts / pages, or do they have to be uploaded / added to the gallery manually?

3. On most of the other themes apart from the main menu there is a side bar, where you can place widgets, like twitter feeds etc. Is there something like that in this theme? If yes, would it be possible to have a complete list of included widgets / features / short codes for this theme? I’, talking about things like Recent Posts, Flickr feeds, quick contact form, calendar, columns, fonts, accordions, tabs etc… And if you have live example of these – that would be even better!

Thank you very much in advance! I look forward to hear from you.

Dimitri

Hi there,

1. This is done on purpose. You can toggle the sidebar closed again to scroll right ;) I added an FAQ in this theme’s FAQ section (look up) for those looking to make the sidebar static.

2. They need to be uploaded. Look at the video overview on this theme page.

3. The sidebar is widgetized, but it is also static. So I wouldn’t add a ton of things to it if I were you. Things like recent posts, calendar..etc are included in WordPress by default. For everything else there is a plugin that can handle that. For columns, accordions..etc. You could use my free Symple Shortcodes plugin – http://www.wpexplorer.com/symple-shortcodes

Back again! Any way to make the mobile version of the site show a gallery format (like the masonry post type) instead of a “one over the other” format?

Great ;)

ps: In the future if you want to submit these to my support site – wpthemehelp.com – I would really appreciate it because I can turn tickets into knowledge base articles to help everyone. Thanks!

Hello!

Could you tell me how to remove small line just above copyright text?

Thanks

WPExplorer

You can hide it with CSS:

#copyright::before { display: none !important; }

Hey! Just a quick question:

How do I make the “Copyright 2013” at the bottom of the sidebar static?

If it’s too difficult could you show me how to just remove it altogether?

Thanks!

WPExplorer

What do you mean by static? if you look at the FAQ for this post there is a little help showing you how you can make the sidebar always visible, is this what you want?

Hello AJ – I just bought your PhotoPro theme and I think it is amazing, congratulations for your work. Anyway I am having a little issue, I followed all your steps I saw in the video to create galleries, and yet canĀ“t create any gallery. I get 404, even clicking preview button straight after uploading the files. I am a bit stuck. Any ideas? website is www.rawfotografos.com, if you want to check. Best

WPExplorer

Probably just need to refresh your permalinks. Try going to Settings->Permalinks and clicking the save button. Usually it fixes the issue. You should do this whenever you activate a new theme that uses custom post types. I think I mention it in the documentation, forgive me if I did not.

Thanks for the purchase!

Hi AJ, your theme looks great and I just bought it yesterday. Unfortunately it is not working. I don’t get the gallery on the main page neither the links (e.g. of my blog) are appearing. Is it possible that this is due my newer wordpress version, 3.5.1? Regards Sabine

WPExplorer

Hi Sabine,

It wouldn’t have anything to do with WP 3.5.1 my theme is fully compatible.

Have you setup the homepage as explained in the documentation?

Menu links won’t show up on the sidebar until you add them. You can setup a menu under Appearance->Menu and then use the menu widget to add it to the sidebar.

Please referred to the included documentation file, I think it will really help you out!

Thanks for the purchase!

Hi AJ, thank you for your fast response. I could set up the theme :-) And I have updated the theme to your latest version… But now I don’t see all my galleries in the wp-admin anymore. I only see 1 gallery in the list, but it says 5 elements on the top right of the gallery table. Follow error appears in the “tags” of this 1 gallery: Catchable fatal error: Object of class WP_Error could not be converted to string in /users/sabinekuhn/www/wp-content/themes/PhotoPro/functions/editor_columns.php on line 37 Any idea what I can do to see my galleries again in the galleries table? (The 5 galleries still appear & work on the website)

Another question: How can I define the sequence of my galleries?

Greetings from Switzerland, Sabine

WPExplorer

Strange…

Not sure why you would get any error, please open a ticket at the support site so I can assist with the gallery issue: http://www.wpthemehelp.com/

Regarding the order of galleries. In WordPress all posts are shown in Chronological order. You can change this as shown here: http://www.wpthemehelp.com/knowledgebase/changing-post-order-portfolio-services-highlights-staff-etc/

UPDATED!

Version 1.2 is currently in the queue with some great updates! Have a look at the changelog at the bottom of the theme page

WPExplorer

If you purchase right now before the update has been reviewed contact me via my profile so I can send you 1.2 via email. Or wait until tomorrow to download the theme and get all the latest features!

WPExplorer

Update reviewed and available for download!

Great that the new version is out and includes lots of the regular requests.

Dumb question but I don’t seem to be able to update the theme, if I try and upload and install it says the Folder is already created. Update doesn’t seem to be an option in wordpress, do I need to delete the current version and install the new one?

WPExplorer

You have two options.

1. Before you upload rename the them before zipping and uploading so that it becomes photopro-1.2.zip (example, can be anything). This will allow you to have both versions installed on your site at once.

2. Override the theme via FTP (preferred method, if you haven’t made any adjustments to the theme).

I knew I was being dumb, simple as calling it something else. Thanks.

WPExplorer

;)

FYI: If you do that method, you’ll need to re-select your menu location (not re-add the items) and at times re-add your widgets when you select the new theme.

Also, re-save your permalinks to prevent any 404s!

Hi again AJ. It just worked the way you said. Marvellous. Thanks a lot.

As I user that just bought some days ago… Can i download the new reviewed theme to update?

WPExplorer

Most definitely! Updates are free ;) Please have a look at my response to @j4m1eb right above.

Updated – 1.2.1

Fixed an issue with the tags taxonomy breaking the column layout in the dashboard when wp-debug was enabled

Updated files: functions/taxonomies.php

Hi WPExplorer. I sent you an email regarding a custom job, any chance you could have a look over it and get back to me?

Kindest regards

WPExplorer

I haven’t gone through any emails yet this morning. But I don’t take on any custom work so I will likely just reply saying I don’t do any custom work. Thanks for considering me though.

Default-user

Even just setting up the website? It’s only very simple changes I’d like made. I’m willing to pay for the changes, which I’d imagine would only take you a few minutes.

Best regards

WPExplorer

You could contact my partner at Tweaky if you want some custom work done.

Hey AJ, First off great theme and from what I can see A1 support. I have one quick question that I can’t find the answer to. Is there any way to change the accent colors? photo ScreenShot2013-02-04at70814PM.png

WPExplorer

Thanks, glad you like the theme!

That’s just basic CSS. For example if you open css/black.css you’ll see all the styling for that color scheme which you appear to be using.

The yellow color used in the black color scheme is ”#f1c81a” so if you want to change that everywhere just search/replace in that file.

Default-user

Thanks a ton. It worked like a charm. photo ScreenShot2013-02-05at21852PM.png

WPExplorer

Good!

No masonry blog layout?

WPExplorer

No, I didn’t like the masonry style for this theme.

But you could setup 1 WP install with this theme and then have a separate theme for your blog that is masonry style ;)

Or you can edit the theme template, but would take much more time.

Prepurchase q. Is it possible to add captitions and or text to images?

If you acces the “weekend” gallery on the demo page there is an “About” text. Can this tab only be used on the “Scroller” and “FlexSlide” typ galleries?

Great theme! Many other photo themes have LOTS of features and cool effects which distracts the viewer from the actual images. And while they may work on mobile, it’s just not simple enough. I absolutely love this theme. Great work!

WPExplorer

I’ll consider it for the homepage/archives – thanks for the suggestion. I just released a giant update for this theme and I don’t like to release too many update so soon, so I’ll put it on the todo list for the future. Its a fairly simple edit.

Default-user

I understand! Silly me, one more question. Can the “about” text be turned on on the two home page styles?

WPExplorer

No. This functionality is for the posts only.

Hi AJ,

I just bought your theme and i implemented it here: http://mikekortociphotography.com/wordpress/. Its starting to look great. I was hoping you could help me out with something. I found this site that is VERY similar. http://traceymorris.com/beauty/. In it. the webpage and the images scale to the size of the browser. Mine obviously doesnt resize on the fly. Is there any way for me to do this too. I tried going to the img_default.php and tried to do percentage of 100%. maybe im doing it wrong. Please advise. Thanks!

WPExplorer

You can’t set a cropping value to 100% you would have to set it to 9999 so there isn’t any cropping at all

But the scroller has a fixed height to fix some bugs, so you would have to remove the fixed height via CSS.

I’m sorry, could you point me in the right direction. which file would i need to edit to achieve that? also im viewing the page on my ipad too and its using the mobile view. how would i change the parameter so it would only go mobile for iphones. Thank you! :)

WPExplorer
  • For the scroller, take a look at style.css that’s where all the main CSS is located.
  • For the mobile changes…this is a bit complicated. I’m using the following PHP script:
https://github.com/serbanghita/Mobile-Detect

Hopefully that helps you figure it out. Otherwise you might have to hire a freelancer to assist you.
