Rzepak,
I’d like the images on the front page of my website to auto-slide. Given my crappy coding abilities, can you tell me exactly where to put the code, and in which specific JS file?
I saw in a previous answer, you wrote:
However, I don’t know which JS file you’re referencing, or where, exactly, the “autoStart: 5000” should be put.
I really don’t want to mess things up.
If I can get this, plus the custom logo working, I should be all set up with this rockin’ new template you’ve created.
Thanks for your help, Shalom
It’s line 42 in custom.js in “js” folder of theme.

The logo fix worked! Thank you so much!!!
YOU ROCK !!!
Shalom
Hi,
I’ve got another problem:
My article pages are not in center, though I changed nothing. It must have something to do with the leftside-div, because if I take this one out, the page is in center (but then the slideshow does not work anymore).
Regards!
Hi I have just installed Photopurepress but it won’t work and prevents all other themes from working until I delete from server. I followed instructions and did CHMOD on Cache directory, activated and got the following error message:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function add_custom_background() in /home/onsidec1/public_html/dbp/wp-content/themes/photopurepress-wordpress-for-photographers-source/PhotopurePress/functions.php on line 15
Hope you can help Dave
Hi do you use it with latest version of WordPress? I mean 3.0?
how/can i remove the area for people to post comments at the bottom of a post so that it looks like a normal page, removing the blog element?
please help cheers
you can turn off comments in WordPress options or in PhotoPress Options
Rzepak,
I hope you had a wonderful vacation. Will you be posting photos anywhere for us to get a peek of your trip?
I’ve got my site nicely dialed, thanks to your awesome template, and your rockin’ support in answering my questions. Here it is:
http://shalomormsby.com/
I have three questions for you, which will help me put the finishing touches on my site:
First, I have a question for you about the ordering of posts, which relates to the order of the thumbnails on the front page, as well as the order of the images in the slideshow. I’d like to be able to control the order of all of these elements (which seem to be all related). For example, I’d like to make my Dreams gallery the first thumbnail and Featured Content slider image, and then Beauty, and so on… How can I do that?
Second, when I try to put images in my pages (using the “Default template” page attribute, they don’t embed (this is not for posts, but for pages). Do you have any idea why that might be happening, and what I can do to fix it? I may have accidentally torn out an essential piece of CSS or PHP . [I only know enough coding to do some damage to working code, basically.] I’d really like to be able to embed photos and videos in my pages. [Right now, my “About” page is looking pretty bare, without an image in it.]
Third, is there a way of getting more than 5 images in the Featured Content slider? I have six gallery sections, and would like 6 images in the slider, if possible.
Thanks so much for making this awesome template, and for your rock solid support of it. I’ve become a big fan of your work, and I’ve recommended your template to several people already.
Shalom
Nice website you have
Ad1. Maybe some plugins can make it but WordPress doesn’t support such things as far as I know
Ad2. I thinks thats a drawback of latest upgrade, and I wasn’t aware that my changes will cause that. I’ll provide fix for it ASAP .
Ad3. in index.php in line 13 change “&showposts=5” to “&showposts=6”
Thanks and Cheers!
Rzepak,
I figured out the answer to my first question, about ordering the thumbnails and images in the Featured Content slider: They’re ordered according to date, in reverse chronological order. So changing the published date of the posts changes their order.
Thought I’d share this, to spare you the effort of writing this out, and to share it with anyone else who might want to know this.
Shalom
oh, it’s good you’ve figured out some way for it
Rzepak,
Your “index.php” mod worked perfectly.
Thanks!
And thanks for the feedback about my website. Couldn’t have done it without you.
My final big need is to be able to embed photos and other media into Pages, such as my About page ( http://shalomormsby.com/bio/ ). I’m looking forward to your fix. I don’t need a sliding gallery or anything. Just the ability to embed single images. [I’ll probably also embed videos, down the road, as well.]
Thanks, Shalom
Just curious how much work it would be to change the gallery slider control to a simple bar slider where you just manually drag them left and right…Like on my site: http://bmacstudio.com/gal2/portfolio.htm
I believe that is people are given the opportunity to slide at their own speed, they will pause at those photos which draw them in, rather than being forced to spend time on each individual image. This, to me, is the strength of the horizontal gallery design.
I love the theme, and very excited to get it implemented….Thank you!
I’m afraid it would be then too simple, but I can add such a version in future updates
btw, amazing photos!
Just throwing out thoughts for the future, as this seems to be the best photography portfolio theme out there….
I really think a really nice portfolio accordion at the top would be fantastic, and then have a way of separating the thumbs below with the text “Recent” or something similar.
Okay, I’m stumped…
I understand and can change the square thumbnail on the main page without problem. I can’t figure out how to change the top slider image….Driving me crazy. I have read the entire documentation, and there is really no mention of this that I can find.
I see others are doing it, so can anyone help?
Any idea how to prevent the movement of the right scroller arrow effecting the right slider arrow? The left arrows are independent, but the right arrows are attached to each other, which I’m assuming is why you have different top positions for the scroller arrows in the CSS ?
The problem is, every theme I’ve seen with a slider or accordion had a custom image field somewhere in the backend…Like this:
http://www.bmacstudio.com/slider.jpg
It’s the last thing I need to figure out before getting things up, and so I can start filling galleries. If anyone else has an idea, I would really appreciate it!
Here is the current condition of the test site:
http://www.bmacstudio.com/blogtest/
I very interest in purchasing this, what is the maximum height of a image that can be used and does the package come with sample images to help get started?
Hi There’s no maximum height, but also there’s no point in adding images higher than standard resoultions, and force user to scroll up and down, and there’s no sample package
cheers
Quick Question!
I want to integrate your theme with Fotomoto. is it possible to do that? (http://www.fotomoto.com/) I like to use thir system to sell my pictures!
Only problem i see is in your themes is that when i click pictures its not going to show the individual pic or jquery slide show . fotomoto uses it to show buy prints icon!
Thanks
Keep up your good work!
Hi I’m afraid it would be hard to integrate it with fotomoto…
Thanks for the reply! I really like your theme!
Hi, just bought this theme, great stuff. Just trying to figure out how to resize the slider images, mine seem to default to 650 height and i want to make this smaller (500 or 550 etc).
Also, i have resized my post icons so that 4 fit across the screen, the thumbs work fine on the front page but if i go to a category page they no longer fit (too big), how do i fix this? (pls see, bencoope.com)
you just need to make almost the same changes in category.php as you did in index.php
Thanks rzepak
Hey Rockstar Rzepak,
Has there been any progress on this?
My final big need is to be able to embed photos and other media into Pages, such as my About page ( http://shalomormsby.com/bio/ ). I’m looking forward to your fix. I don’t need a sliding gallery or anything. Just the ability to embed single images. [I’ll probably also embed videos, down the road, as well.]

function pure_slideshow() { $content = get_the_content(''); if (is_page() == false) { $content = preg_replace('/<img[^>]+>/is', '', $content); } return $content; }it should help.
Thank you SO MUCH , Rzepak! That solved it. You’re brilliant!
function pure_slideshow() { global $post; $content = get_the_content(''); $custom_field = get_post_meta($post->ID, 'posttype_value', true); if ( $custom_field != normalpost_type) { $content = preg_replace('/<img[^>]+>/is', '', $content); } return $content; }as it will fix photos on normal post.
Genius! Thank you! You ROCK !
ops, once again fix
to be perfectly save it should be
if ( $custom_field != normalpost_type || is_page() == false ) {Updated that line, and everything’s working perfectly in Safari, Firefox, and Chrome. Thanks!
Hey Rzepak,
is there a way to insert pics into normal posts? ie so you can have pics and words etc. i cannot at the moment i add them in and they dont show up.
Hi in functions.php find “function pure_slideshow() { everything bettwen.. }”
and replace it withfunction pure_slideshow() { global $post; $content = get_the_content(''); $custom_field = get_post_meta($post->ID, 'posttype_value', true); if ( $custom_field != normalpost_type) { $content = preg_replace('/<img[^>]+>/is', '', $content); } return $content; }Thanks, that works great.
Thanks rzepak that worked great, the only think now is that the <!
<?php global $more; $more = FALSE ; ?> <?php the_content(__(‘Continue reading →’)); ?>-more-> tag will not show up in normal posts. The tag works on the blog page i created (ie it cuts the text at the right point) it just doesnt show up a link (‘continue reading’) or any text saying that the text has been cut. below is the code that displays content.not sure what is going on or where but it seems that the tag is being filtered somewhere, can you help?
Hi Rzepak,
im having issues with the images showing up on posts and pages, the line if ( $custom_field != normalpost_type || is_page() == false ) { was added to the slideshow function so i can add images to pages and posts it just doesnt do anything, images in posts and pages disapear (see bencoope.com/about and bencoope.com/blog)it only works if i specify one o the other (either pages or posts) not both. not sure why this is as shalom’s seems to be working fine. also id assume this is there the <!
-more-> tag is being filtered but can see why it is.
