Hello! I’ve just two quick questions before i buy this beautiful theme!

1) Can I change the colours of the menu background, and the larger background area to the right?

2) Do the images have to be certain dimensions for them to fit? Or do they just autofit?

Thanks a million in advance I’ll surely be purchasing this theme! Aaron.

Hi,

1) Yes you can. This theme comes with 2 predefined styles (light & dark). But if you need more custom mods, then you can use Custom CSS field in the options panel to place your code there.

2) Images autofit.

Thanks! Looking forward!

Is there any way to hide the “Other Photos From This Category” section?

wpbakery

Hi,

to do that you should open tpl_single_photo.php file and add comment (#) before function execution
<?php # display_related_photos(); ?>

Very nice template! Two questions:

1 – how do I remove the social networking icons. I don’t want the links to twitter, facebook, digg, and things like that on the page. Is that an option in the setup or a change to the css?

2 – have you considered an option to include some of the image exif information on the page? It would be great to be able to display the camera type, location and other information about the image without having to re-enter all the data.

Thanks and again – Great Job! Paul

Hi Paul,

1 – Links to the twitter, facebook profiles are shown only if you enter that info in the options page, so if you don’t want them – skip that block in options page.

2 – At the moment I don’t plan to add such functionality.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I was hoping for a positive reply on 2, but I understand.. It did not hurt to hope.

On 1, I get the entire list of social media icons. I do not use facebook or twitter, so I don’t have an account with either. No data was entered into those fields, yet the links are there.

Not a big issue on either. Thanks again for a great product! Paul

Could you share your sites url?

I tried finding the tpl_single_photo.php, but had no luck.

Where is it, exactly?

And is there a way that I can change the menus so that the submenus apear in a drop down format, rather than inline with each other?

wpbakery

all template files are located in the themes folder, so check wp-content/themes/photoshot/ folder for that file.

To re-style sub-menu, you should change sub-menu css styling, not an easy task if you don’t know how to work with css. I’m afraid, but I don’t have a code ready for you. But if you know some CSS you’ll be ok :)

Just wanted to share the way I used the theme.. It’s great and I have gotten a lot of positive feedback. Much better than the PHP script I was using on my old site.

Thanks again for a job well done!

wpbakery

To do that open js/js.js file and search for inlineMode: 1 change 1 to 0, save file and your are done

Is there an easy way to integrate the Lightbox Evolution plugin with this theme? I tried but I don’t know how.

Plugin Link: http://codecanyon.net/item/lightbox-evolution-for-wordpress/119478

It looks like you have prettyPhoto and I think it’s interfering. Your help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

How can I add the next and previous buttons for a standard wordpress gallery to your prettyphoto setup? If you go to the link bellow and click one of the thumbnail photos you will see it opens up the image nicely, but then I have to close that image to open another. I’d like to be able to just click the next/previous button to see the next/previous image. How can I do this?

Thanks, Trevor

wpbakery

Wordpress default gallery shortcode doesn’t generate rel attribute for links, that is required for prettyPhoto to group elements in gallery.

This is something that can help you: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/add-relxyz-to-gallery-link

Ok thanks. The last add_filter code by Brig01 worked perfectly! Thanks for that link.

Hi everyone here; Hi Mixey, Thanks for such a Nice theme, It Look superb! in demo preview. as i am very new to WP and Web designing; i am finding it very difficult to handle this theme all though I purchased it after going through all information, its not a problem of theme I am facing difficulties because i don’t know anything about it. Please don’t laugh on my queries. I hope you will help me in solving those. 1) i can shift my logo on top but then the menu things overlap on it as logo size is big and i don’t want it to reduce. Also i want to change the BG color of logo and menu background from grey to black or some other color. 2) At homepage slide show my images are cropping which is very bad for me. I tried to make Full-page Homepage Slideshow but never able to get that line 934 and neither understand point (No quotes) mentioned by you. ie..•On line 921, change the value of “inlineMode:” to 0. •On line 934, add ”//” to the beginning of the line. (how to find this exact line i tried by using simple maths but wont able to get the result) •(No quotes) -> what this mean

3) Not able to create multiple types in the menu.. For example..In the nature menu suppose i want to put Flowers (Thumbnail)+Landscapes (Thumbnail)+Skies (Thumbnail)+water-bodies (Thumbnail) so that i can separate my photographs according to photography subject. More clearly suppose you click on nature—>you will see all thumbnails and after clicking on each individual thumbnails u can see relevant photos of that subject. 4)Favorite, twitter or face-book icon to replace at the bottom. 5)I don’t know might be i will face more problems. site url www.hasgraphy.com please help..i have already tried my level best to resolve it but i cant in last 72 hrs… Eagerly waiting for reply..

Regards,

Hi,

1. After placing logo on the top, adjust menu padding.

#menu {
    padding-top: 170px; }
Increase 170 value to work for you.

2. Resizing images is a key design feature. You can’t have images fullscreen and not cropping in the same time.

3. Sorry didn’t get you. If you want, you can insert categories links in the menu to filter your photos. To do that visit appearance->menu

4.

#twitter_favorites { top: auto; bottom:40px; }

Hi Harish, I’m sorry to say that the pdf is wrong in a few places, I would recommend you look through the previous comments to find solutions to some of your questions. That being said, this theme is beautiful and it works out of the box. Customizing the code on it, however, is not for the faint of heart and definitely not for beginners. You might be better off having someone customize it for you.

@ audeo13.. Thanks for the reply…i manage to make the slide show fullscreen. now the problem is i am not able to make the menu background transparent. any suggestion on this please.. Thanks..

audeo13 Purchased

@ HarishS, You will need to create a transparent .png image file. In the style.css you will need to find #left (approx. line 148, get yourself a code editor that will show you line numbers). Change background: #fff; to something like background: #fff url(insert transparent image file path here);.

where ru Mixey….i am expecting some solution from ur end.. but i guess ur not at all interested in after sale support.. in this case i will not recommend anyone to buy this theme…

There’s just one place in the file where inlineMode can be spotted. So simply do the find (Ctrl + F or CMD + F) in your js/js.js file and comment that line out.

@Mixey, Thanks for reply, this is really a nice theme. And i wish u will help us to make it perfect..

Welcome

Hi,

I love the simple design of your theme, and therefore purchased it. I’ve been trying to configure to suit my needs. I have a couple of problems, and I hope you point me in the right direction.

1. On the home page, I’ve opted for the fullscreen option for the slideshow. In the help file, you mention a couple of things to change in the js.js file. Unfortunately, the line numbers you have given, do not correspond to the line numbers when I open that file. However I traced the line “inlineMode:” and changed the value accordingly to make it fullscreen. However, the next two lines you have indicated in the help file “line 934” does not make sense to me.

After I changed the value for inlineMode, the image is bigger now, but not fullscreen. It fills up only till the left menu pane. Is there a way (like how you have shown in those screenshots in the help file, where the image of the girl in red is full screen, and the menu is overlayed transparently on the left, with the image below it)

2. I created a category menu called landscape to display all landscape pictures on one page, like how you have done with you demo site – traveling page. I want the “Start Slideshow” option, so when I add the Category ID of Landscape under theme options to the list, and go to the Landscape page, and click on the “start slideshow” button, I get the following message: “Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn’t here.”

Also could you please send me an email of logo psd?

My website is: http://www.sandflashphotography.com/ for your reference.

I would appreciate some help on this.

Thank you

wpbakery

Hi,

1. Actually your slideshow is fullscreen now, but menu is on top of it so part of the slideshow is hidden. Please take a look at the previous comments. You should create opaque png file and then use it as a background for menu.

2. I’m not sure why but WP 3 .1 is causing some problems with urls/slideshow. Please turn on permalinks and this will solve the problem. You can activate permalinks in Settings->Permalinks in your WP admin area

Mixey,

I’m having a problem with the Facebook URL / icon. When I add my Facebook URL : www.facebook.com/jkingphoto it seems to not be working.

What I get when I click on the Facebook icon is a url like this: http://www.jaleelking.com/www.facebook.com/jkingphoto which gives an error.

Am I doing something wrong?

Also, I’ve been having an issue with the contact page. When someone hits the “submit” button it doesn’t give any indication that it was done. I tried it myself and when I hit the send button the info stays on the page leading people to think it’s not working.

Thanks,

Jaleel

wpbakery

Hi,

Please add http:// before www.facebook…. that way browser will know that it’s external url.

2. I took a look at your contact form in this is what I see in the reply from server:

“ok<!- WP Super Cache is installed but broken. The path to wp-cache-phase1.php in wp-content/advanced-cache.php must be fixed! ->”

This is why template doesn’t show success message.

Thanks!

I do have another question. It seems that the icons for the shortcodes in the admin panel are missing? The shortcodes are there and usable, but the icons look like the icon for missing images now though. Any way to fix this?

Other wise loving the theme; despite the early hiccups. ;)

Could you please email me the screenshot what are you talking about? Thank you

Hi,

So… this is a beginner’s question but how do I configure a page to become a slideshow/portfolio? I know how to upload images to the Media Gallery in my Admin Panel – now how do I get those photos to show up in this theme?

And what is the recommended size for a custom logo in .png format?

Thanks!

wpbakery

Hi there,

First you should setup categories that you want to use as a portfolio, to do that visit options page and enter categories IDs in the special input field. After that make a new post and assign in to that category. To upload image to the post, look for the “Photoshot Custom Settings” section located under the main body content.
