I’m completely blown away. I’ve been a big WordPress user (and Themeforest purchaser) for a while, but your Tumblr themes are incredible. I’m loving the Piere theme – incredibly easy to install and tweak based on your thorough HTML instructions.

Oh, and the design is perfect in my mind. The key to good web design is a combination of simplicity, flexibility, and ability to stay relevant. This theme has all of these characteristics.

Hey ckcallen!

Thanks. Send me a message: support@mikedidthis.co.uk as I may ship you something early :)

Mike – Any sense for timing on the update?

mikedidthis

Hey,

1.3 came out some time ago, but I am not 100% sure if it includes the capped media query (away from my main pc)

This should cap it if not:
@media screen and (min-width: 1480px) {
  #main {
    max-width: 1940px;
  }
}
Thanks

Mike

Any plans for a simple footer? The ability to choose to have social icons at the bottom would be excellent.

I’m about ready to move my site to Tumblr just for this design. The simplicity and typography are the best I’ve seen not to mention flawless retina support and photoset implementation. Super easy to set up and Tumblr is ridiculously easy to post on. It’s a no brainer folks. Buy it up!

Hey David,

Thanks again for the kind words. I will see what I can do about the footer / social icons!

Mike

Found a bug.

Line 42 says:
<link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family={text:Heading Font Family Name}:{text:Heading Font Family Weight}' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
Should be:
<link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family={text:Heading Font Family Name}:{text:Heading Font Weight}' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>

Thanks for an awesome theme!

mikedidthis

Hey Jonnablaze.

Tested and confirmed! Thank you for the spot, will add to the next update!

Glad you like the theme! Future updates are sent to Themeforest. You can either follow my twitter profile, or logging to the customisation screen, which will alert you when a new update is ready.

Hey Mike! Thanks for that beautiful theme.

- Is it possible to turn off the rounded corners of the images? - How can I manage the space between the images in a photoset?

Thanks a lot and greetz from Germany

Great theme, Mike.

I have emailed you at support@mikedidthis.co.uk but had a couple of additional questions:

1. Does the theme support archiving? 2. Is it possible to add a description and social icons in the foooter? 3. Does it allow us to create custom pages?

Please let me know!

Thanks!!

mikedidthis

Hey,

I replied to all your questions via the support channel.

Thanks for getting in touch.

It seems there is a problem with sidebar in Chrome – it does not appear when I click on the button. Could you check this? My Chrome version is 25. Thank you!

mikedidthis

Hey mgdd,

The demo site works and your site appear (http://dailyamber.tumblr.com/) fine in Chrome 25.0.1364.99 on both Mac OS X and Windows 7. Example here: http://i.imgur.com/q6DF6iI.jpg

I would suggest clearing your cache, and seeing if the issue is still there. If it is please email: support@mikedidthis.co.uk

Thanks

Mike

I was just wondering if it possible to center text / content within a blog post in this theme? I am new to tumblr and have been playing around with some free themes and even editing the html has not worked so far, tumblr seems to remove certain html instructions.

mikedidthis

Hey bjornhughes.

I can’t see any issues on making the content centered, it just requires some Custom CSS.

If you purchase fire a message to support@mikedidthis.co.uk and I will get that created for you.

Thanks

Mike

Hello, This theme looks great however I have a question before I purchase. Would I be able to customize the theme to have: A featured story post where the image would span 100% as would the text under it. Then 2 of the 3 columns below it would bring in anything else as it is posted. And lastly the 3rd column would post only a specific category? Please let me know If I can achieve this, with this theme or any other themes you have done for Tumblr. Thank you for your time! - M

mikedidthis

Hey M,

Sadly I think this is beyond any of my themes abilities, and from the sounds of it you need something custom creating.

Sorry about that.

Thanks

Mike

Hey Mike,

I just emailed you about something I’ve run into with the theme. Hopefully it can get resolved!

mikedidthis

Hey,

Urm.. Thanks :)

Thanks for the prompt reply, Mike :)

mikedidthis

No problem, thanks for reporting the issue!

Is possible to add customs ads instead of GOOGLE ADSENSE only?

mikedidthis

Hi,

The theme is mainly HTML so feel free to modify it for your needs.

Anything else please message: support@mikedidthis.co.uk

Thanks

Mike

Hello! I have a couple of quick questions:

1.) Is it possible to have the “popout panel” scroll down the page with you? 2.) Can you set the theme to auto load more posts (instead of going to a new page?) Or a “load more posts” button? 3.) Does it have a “back to top” button?

Thanks!

mikedidthis

Hi,

1) Not in the current version, but it may get added. 2) Again, not in the current version, but I know others have used this: http://codysherman.com/tools/infinite-scrolling 3) No.

Sorry they weren’t the best responses.

Thanks

Mike

Tyno

Haha, thanks for the prompt reply (and for the suggestions)!

Hi When i copy and paste the html markup from the mikedidthis-pierre-1.2 file and try to save i got the following error from Tumblr “The was an error processing your request”

When i click on edit HTML i remove all text. I open your theme in Windows notepad and copy and paste the text into Tumblr… whats wrong????

mikedidthis

Hey nilsanderspersson,

I am not too sure. Follow these steps:

1) Open the HTML file in your web browser. 2) Right click and select ‘View Source’. 3) Select and copy all the HTML / Code. 4) Paste into your Tumblr HTML Edit Pane. 5) WIN!

If still no luck, please message: support@mikedidthis.co.uk

Thanks

Also how do you make it two columns? :D

mikedidthis

Hey Kianalam,

Sadly, I think making the theme two columns it outside the scope of small customisations.

If you have any more questions, please contact: support@mikedidthis.co.uk

Are there any changelogs to the recent updates?

mikedidthis

Hey Souldier,

Yes there is: http://mikedidthis-pierre.tumblr.com/changelog

Thanks

When I check the Enable Like Post Heart option within the customization options, the Heart image does not appear as in your preview. Instead the following appears instead of the heart: “♥ ”

I too am having this issue but was unable to locate the fix.

any thoughts ?

mikedidthis

Hey,

The easiest way to install the theme is as follows:

1) Open the HTML file in your web browser. 2) Right click and select ‘View Source’. 3) Select and copy all the HTML / Code. 4) Paste into your Tumblr HTML Edit Pane. 5) WIN!

That should resolve the ‘heart’ issue.

Thanks

Mike

Hi,

Thanks for a great theme. If I wanted to add a permanent navigation element under the header, like you did with Documentation (linking to an externally hosted site), what would you suggest the best way to do that. Alternatively, maybe I could just add permanent links in that space to a posted item (regardless of recency)?

Thanks so much!

mikedidthis

Hey,

The links in the top right (Documentation, Changelog, Purchase) are actually Tumblr Pages.

http://www.tumblr.com/docs/en/pages

So no need to hand code them. You can drag the order you want them displayed in the sidebar as well.

Hope that helps.

Hey there,

I just bought the Pierre theme and when I copy the HTML code into my Tumblr it does nothing. Does anyone have any tips?

thanks, Becky

Hey Becky.

If you message: support@mikedidthis.co.uk I will send you some clear instructions.

Thanks

Mike

Hey Mike,

Great theme! Im having some problems with the icon font though. Im getting “Resource interpreted as Font but transferred with MIME type application/octet-stream” in chrome. Also “Resource interpreted as Font but transferred with MIME type image/svg+xml: “http://static.tumblr.com/g8b5dgd/SfRmeo6k0/fontello.svg#fontello”.

Any fix for this? Thanks a bunch!

-Daniel

mikedidthis

Hi Daniel,

Glad you like the theme. I presume your issue is with the hearts. The error message above is actually unrelated.

To fix the hearts, install the theme as follows:

1) Open the HTML file in your web browser.
2) Right click and select 'View Source'.
3) Select and copy all the HTML / Code.
4) Paste into your Tumblr HTML Edit Pane.
5) WIN!

Hope that helps.

Hey Mike! Thanks for the quick reply! That’s exactly how I’ve installed the theme. Here’s a screenshot from my Chrome console: http://grab.by/lJ0K

mikedidthis

Hey Daniel,

Yeah its the same ‘warning’ I receive. I do little bits with the Fontella guys and I have been reassured its nothing to worry about.

I have to include a Base64 version of the font for FF / IE8 / IE9 (cross domain workaround).

The font’s display, so I everyone wins!

Thanks

Mike
