I am able to publish regular posts, but for some reason, the social links won’t publish (save).

cudazi

Are you sure you’ve filled out the title, link and chosen an icon? That’s about all I can think of, it uses the same post/save actions as a normal page would. Thanks!

Default-user

Yep. I include a title, a link, and select an icon, but when I hit publish it does nothing. If I click to view the social links, it shows it as a draft. When I click on the draft, all it saves is the title; the link and icon selection are blank. Any assistance you can offer would be well had.

cudazi

Maybe just send me a temp user admin account via my ThemeForest profile contact form and I’ll log on and give it a whirl. Thanks!

@ littlegiant33: Did you create more the one icon? Mine would not show up until I made two.

Hello,

I don’t suppose this will work with the Express app from Woo?

Thank you, Derek

cudazi

Hey there,

No plugins like Woo’s Express App are required for the custom post formats, they are the new WordPress 3.1 feature. :)

Thanks!

thewillingaccomplice

Thank you for the quick response. I was thinking more in terms of being able to post via mobile app.

kind regards

cudazi

As long as the mobile app has that post format meta box you’ll be set, if not, it’ll be posted as the standard post type.

thewillingaccomplice

The Express app is designed I believe just for Tumblog type themes. Either way I love your newest theme and will be buying it in about two minutes!

Thanks very much for your quick, patient replies!

Thank you!

Just a friendly fyi that on the archives page some of the text and tags are running over/outside the container they reside in when you shrink the browser down to mobile size.

Seems like long post headings are part of the problem.

kind regards

cudazi

I’ll have an update for this out today, just a column goof on that page template.

The author widget, is it possible to have multiple authors on the site using the widget?

cudazi

Hey there,

You can add as many bio / author widgets as you would like with unique photos/links/descriptions. The catch will be the social links, at this time they would show on all but there should be a way to separate them out if needed. I’ll add it to my idea list.

Thanks!

any shortcodes included?

cudazi

You can see the columns & messages on this page ( http://curtziegler.com/sitedemo/pixelpower/wordpress/about/ ) there are literally 1000s of free/premium shortcodes for anything else you may need. Thanks!

On the portfolio page, can you show more posts/work rather then having to click next page?

cudazi

Yea, you could manually override the posts per page by a custom field posts_per_page on that page template and make it like 100 to avoid having to go to the next page. Thanks!

Great theme!

Looking to edit the “Leave a Reply” section (I want to remove the allowed tags), but can’t find the .php file that has that text in it.

any help?

Thanks!

cudazi

Hey there!

p.form-allowed-tags { display: none; } will remove them via CSS .

Otherwise you’ll need to dig into http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/comment_form

Thanks!

Perfect. That did it! Thanks!

One other question…is there a clean way to handle “featured images”? Right now a regular post with a featured image seems to be showing a full-size image at the top of the post. Any thoughts? Or is it something weird with my setup (like maybe a timthumb.php issue)?

cudazi

The theme actually does not use timthumb.php, but instead the WordPress featured image functionality. :)

Featured images are available for use on all post types so they’ll appear at the top on any you choose. If you wish to change, look at the content-xxxxx.php files for editing the appropriate ones. (or better yet, duplicate the file and place it in a child theme for editing) Thanks!

How difficult would it be for a beginner to add a blog “categories” menu to right hand side column of this theme?

cudazi

Hey there!

No problem, In the Apperance > Widgets area, just drag the category widget into the sidebar and it will look like this:

I want my posts to show up as excerpts with a read more link… how do i do this? the usual way doesn’t seem to be working.

cudazi

You can add it via the toolbar item or manually enter the more link:

<!--more-->

or customize it

<!--more Read it all!-->

How do I change the background color of the Social Links? I looked all through the CSS file using Firebug and can’t locate it.

cudazi

They’re images, check the images/social_icons folder. Thanks!

All I see are the icons in my social_icons folder, I don;t see anything to change the background where is reads Linkedin in the example above. Am I missing something?

cudazi

Ok, you mean the tooltip bubble above the icon, that is at the very end of the main css/screen.css stylesheet under Tipsy Tooltips. I think they’re #444 for a background by default.

@Helion search for Tipsy Tooltips in the CSS screen.css

I just noticed this a second too late, thank you, you are correct. :)

where is the #logo img {} in the css located? more specifically… where should i be looking after i go to appearance->Editor-> then where?

cudazi

All primary CSS is located in the folder named CSS . I highly suggest looking into using a child theme to do modifications. There are a couple included if you want to see how they work, otherwise there are a ton of resources online.

Otherwise, you can access the style.css folder from the editor and add-on that css selector above for edits.

Thanks!

Default-user

I’m such a novice at CSS … where are the child themes that you have included?

Default-user

never mind. I think I found it:) thanks for the great template!
