Common WordPress Installation Issues
Missing style sheet error when installing the theme
A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a “Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly. Luckily, there is a very easy fix.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this work with the new WordPress 3.6 post formats?
Yes. The theme was designed for the original post format UI but you can choose the post type and add the content as before. Even though the interface has been changed, follow the same procedure to add content as noted in the help file.
Can I translate the theme into other languages?
Yes, it is internationalized (I18n) using e() and _() functions with sample .mo/.po files included in the languages folder.
Can I display categories instead of tags in the blog loop?
Yes, it’s a quick change in the theme options page.
Can I add more fields to the contact form?
Yes, I just pre-styled Contact Form 7, a free/optional WordPress plugin that lets you build a form.
Can I use __ as the home page?
Any page can be set as the home, I left my settings default which shows the blog/posts as the home.
Do the tags need to have a # in front?
The theme displays tags exactly as you type them, I just liked how #sometag looked.
Can I un-lock the header/menu from the top?
Yes, there’s a setting to lock the header to the top of the screen or behave normally.
How are theme options handled?
By a custom page styled to match the default WordPress admin area, no plugins or imports required.
Can I change that orange color?
Yes! There’s a color picker for that.
Can I use a plugin like GD Star Rating?
Yes! Here’s an example of the default usage below:
My pagination (page 1, 2, 3…) is not working.
Please re-download v1.0.3+ (11/11/2011) or change your Settings > Permalinks to something other than default.
How to I change the featured image functionality of the different post formats?
At the top of each of the content-xxxxxxx.php files you will see $ft_image_atts which is an array of settings you pass to the function.
$ft_image_atts = array( 'fallback_to_first_attached' => true, 'thumbnail_size' => 'twelve', 'full_size' => 'full', 'linkto' => 'file', 'hide_on_single' => false ); echo cudazi_featured_image( $ft_image_atts );
How do I change the date format from DEC 01 to something else?
In the files content-xxxxx.php, you will see a function called the_time(... note the letters inside there. They are special PHP date format letters.Visit this page to find which letters to use in your customization: http://codex.wordpress.org/Formatting_Date_and_Time
Why is my blog showing so many page numbers? I want to just show a few on each side of the current page along with the next/previous buttons.
Please update to v1.0.7 or update the cudazi_paginate function in functions.php, change the show_all setting to false instead of true.
Why do my social icon “hovers” flickr?
It only occurs for you as a logged in user with the WordPress admin bar, your users (logged out) will not see this result.
Why aren’t my tweets loading?
Due to Twitter’s decision to discontinue their unauthenticated v1.0 API, the Twitter widget is no longer supported/included. More information.
