Hi Pirenko,

First off I’m really pleased with your theme and work in general – when that is said I seem to be having trouble loading your theme on mobile. I’m creating a portfolio og images / projects and when i load the page (iOS Safari) the browser crashes. I know that this is a limitation by Apple and therefore not your fault in particular – but I was hoping for your help to get it “fixed”.

By fixed I mean not crash the browser – do you know of any workarounds that works well with your theme or could I implement some limitations in the theme in order to get the mobile version to work. Looking forward to your answer.

Thank you.

Pirenko

Hi,
Does this also happen on the theme preview? I tested on iPad 2 and iPhone 4 and never had this issue. Thanks!

Yes i does – I’ve tested with Iphone 4S iOS 5.1 – and it crashes the browser on the preview when you go to portfolio – I can send you a link to the site on a pm – but like i said it also happens on the preview here :(

Pirenko

Does it happens always for you? Send me a private message and maybe we’ll chat on Skype about this.

I have installed the theme again, and I see a alert massage “please make sure your htaccess file is writable” What shall i do?

Pirenko

Please see if the . htaccess is on the root of your wordpress installation. If it’s not there place an empty file there and make sure it’s writable.
Cheers!

Is it possible to auto hide the side menu when not active? Also, I couldn’t see any mention of supporting HTML5 , does it, if not, will it shortly?

Pirenko

Hi,
No… The menu can’t be hidden.
About HTML5 : the theme already uses some HTML5 tags, but I don’t know what you mean specifically with HTML5 support.
Thanks!

Because the menu gets mixed up with the sidebar widgets and the background picture does not go underneath the menu Im afraid I have had to uninstall Pixia and choose another theme which offers more robust functionality.

Thank you fo your efforts anyway.

Pirenko

I haven’t made any efforts yet. Like I told you this will be fixed on the next update. It will be available in the next 48 hours. Cheers!

Pirenko

The theme was just updated and now you can define a specific height from which the menu will collapse. This way it’s you who decide when to collapse the menu and workaround that issue.

I’m wondering how I can implement the Flickr Widget in the Bottom Sidebar?

Thx!

Pirenko

Hi,
I recommend you tu use the Slickr Flickr: http://www.slickrflickr.com/
It’s really easy to use and configure. Install the plugin and let me know if you need any further assistance.
Thank you for purchasing!

Thank you very much for the link. I have managed to implement the plugin but I have a gray border around each thumbnail and when I click on the thumb, it opens in a new page instead of opening in the lightbox.

Your help is appreciated.

Pirenko

Send me a private message giving access to your WP Dashboard. These are tweaks to a plugin so it’s not needed to explain them here.
Cheers!

Hi Pirenko, Very nice theme – I like it, but I have a question: is there a possibility to remove the little „I-like-this-Button“ (the small heart icon) on the posts. Can you help me? Thanks!

Pirenko

Hi,
Add this code to the Custom CSS textfield under Pixia Options>Custom Scripts tab:
.blog_meta .post-like { display:none; }
Cheers :nerdy:

hi Pirenko.

Is it possible to set the order of the slides in a slide show? apologies if this is obvious, but can’t seem to see it.

Pirenko

Hi,
They are ordered according to their date date. Rollover the slide, click on quick edit and change the date according to your needs. Cheers :nerdy:

Hi,

Great theme! I have purchased this and the build feels solid. I have a question about prettyPhoto in the portfolio section. Is it possible to set pretty photo to slide through the 10 post images rather than sliding to the next post?

Perhaps I have missed an option somewhere, but it would be great if you could help me out.

Cheers!! Mike

Pirenko

Hi,
That’s not an option. I decided to built it like it is, because some works only have 1 image and it will be kind of useless to open a lightbox with only 1 image. I can implement this as a paid customization so send me a private message if you are eventually interested.
Thank you for your kind comment :)

Hi,

I have purchased and installed Pixia. I have a problem. I´m trying to show the masonry layout for the blog in http://www.box-4.com/angela in the section called “noticias” on the left menu. This page has been setted up as with “Blog Page – Masonry” template but continues showing the classic layout. this happens also if i change the portfolio layout to “Portfolio Page – Masonry”.

Dont works also the option “make thumbs black and white in pixia options / Blog

Any Ideas,

Best,

Nacho.

You can reach me im Skype: nachosn

Pirenko

Hi,
http://www.box-4.com/angela/noticias/ is showing a masonry page here. Did you already made it?

yeah man!

Masonry template problem solved. i have to deselect “Associate only some categories to this page?” option and now it´s working.

:-P

Pirenko

That should not be the reason, because I just tested it and it works the same way. Anyway the important thing is that it’s working in the way you need it. Cheers!

love the theme. question: how i can display a custom background in the menu column. background images i select in the Pixia General Options only appear in the page area, not the menu. thanks.

Pirenko

Hi,
I prefer it this way :)
To make it slide to the left add this code to the Custom CSS textfield inside Pixia Options>Custom Scripts tab:
#full-screen-background-image { margin-left:0px !important; }
Cheers :nerdy:

thanks – works like a charm. not sure i’ll go this route, but nice to have the option.

Hi,

Love the theme, really easy to use! I have two questions i’m hoping you can help me with (apologies if you have answered them before): 1) Is it possible to have more than one portfolio page? I’m hoping to use one for projects, and one for people. Possibly a third for something else. But the same thing appears in both areas. 2) Is there a simple way to make the images in the portfolio pages bigger? On my screen there are four images in each row but I would prefer 3.

Thanks in advance!

Pirenko

Hi,
Thank you for purchasing and kind comments.
Here are my answers:
1 – Yes. When editing a protfolio page you have a window called Pixia Portfolio Template Custom Options and inside it you have the option to associate only some categories to that page. This way you can select one or more categories for a specific portfolio page.
2 – Depending on your screen size you’ll have a different column number. I can change manually the default maximum width, but in this case you won’t be able to update the theme in the future. Try resizing your window to see the columns number adjust and I think it’s fine as it is now.
Cheers!

Hello,

I have a similar theme but I am looking for an update. Your layout and features in the blog section fits in my requirements. http://www.etiennebugeja.com/

I have 2 quick question regarding the posts.

1. Can I use the featured image as the post thumbnail.

2. I noticed that the posts have a gallery but I am looking for something easier like this http://www.etiennebugeja.com/lucioparrillo/

Thanks Etienne

Pirenko

Hi,
1 – Yes. That’s the default configuration.
2 – Yes. You also have the option to disable the slider. Here’s a sample page with that config: http://www.munto.net/pixia-v1/portfolios/portfolio-without-slider/
Cheers :)

I am having some issues getting the masonry blog format to work. Site URL is: www.lexingtonhappyhour.com

Pirenko

Hi,
This is not a blog page. It’s a portfolio page so the layout on this page is the portfolio layout. For the blog you should create Posts instead of Portfolio Items.
Let me know if you need any further help and maybe check the videos shown here: http://www.munto.net/pixia-v1/video-tutorials/

Hi There!

Whatever i do, the last added portfolio video isn’t clickable. For example the upper left car thumbnail over here: http://www.johandijkstra.com/video/

When i add an newer portfolio item this one is working but the newer one isn’t.

Can you tell me what i’m doing wrong? Thanks a lot!

Pirenko

Disable all plugins and try again. I see an error on your website and it’s not the theme code…

Hi Pirenko,

Great theme. I have a similar question to one asked before. It relates to controlling the thumbnail image sizes (i.e. how many columns there are), on my portfolio page. How come in your example site on my 15” MBP , the images are in three rows, and on the same page on my own site they are in four? I think that the larger thumbnails achieved in 3 rows give more impact, and so would like to implement them.

Any ideas?

Thanks for a great theme,

jason

Pirenko

Where did you buy the theme?

Default-user

Hi Pirenko,

I’m implementing for a friend who purchased it. His name is Clay Dykstra, and he bought it with PayPal from themeforest.net.

Although I also like this theme, and am considering buying a copy myself. However, it depends on how flexible I find implementing his site.

With thanks,

jason

Pirenko

If the screens have the same width the number of thumbs is the same so send me a link to the page you we’re referring to.
Cheers!

Default-user

Hi again,

I’ve realised that the difference between my site (4 columns) and your example page (3 columns), is probably caused by your menu bar being slightly wider than mine, thus allocating slightly less space for the thumbnail grid.

Can you shed any light on the range of “aspect ratios” adopted by the portfolio ‘featured images’ as they resize? For example, the maximum size could be, say, 640×480 – which could range down to 580×480 during browser window resizing before reaching minimum width when a column is (re)moved.

Hope this makes some sense. The reason I need to know is that some of the portfolio ‘featured images’ have text embedded, which needs to remain un-cropped at all states of resizing.

I could try to find these sizes by trial and error, but I figured you must’ve set them somewhere already.

With many thanks for you swift responses,

jason

Pirenko

If you don’t want the images to be cropped you should use the masonry page type. The “secret” here is to make all your thumbs have the same dimensions so that it will look like the classic portfolio page, but at the same time no cropping is executed. This way you can also control the proportions according to your needs.
Also, when you enter a page you have the option to use the thumbnail as the first image of the slider or not so your free to do whatever you want on the main portfolio page and on the single page.
I hope this was clear too. See ya ;)

Default-user

Superb! That’s just the kind of strategic answer I was looking for. Shoulda thought of it myself.

Thanks very much for sharing the secret.

Hey man,

Another couple of questions for you.

Is it possible to have two independent sets of “skills” tags for portfolio items? At the moment I’ve managed to implement it by creating duplicate copies of all the items (basically making two identical portfolios, one for each “set” of “skills”.

Is is possible to make three-level deep menu hierarchy? I’d like one “Portfolio” item, with two methods of viewing in the next level (say, by type, and by year of creation), and then the actual categories in the third level.

Hope this makes sense,

jason

Pirenko

I wont be replying to number 1. If you want a comment post the question from the account that has purchased the theme.
On number 2: I don’t understand why a Portfolio item has buttons under it, but anyway you have the theme already so test it by yourself.
Cheers!

Awesome theme man! Is there any way to turn off the text animation when you hover over a portfolio thumbnail?

Pirenko

You can try opening the main.js and reduce the animation time or the text size when the animation starts. Thank you for purchasing!
