I think its done in (template_portfolio.php) and there just needs to be some php code added to the alt tag in

<img src="<?php echo $vt_image['url']; ?>" id="home_fader-<?php the_ID(); ?>" int_id="<?php the_ID(); ?>" class="custom-img grid_image" alt="" />

After scouring the net I still can’t quite figure this out.

Pirenko

This should not have nothing to do with it, because I doubt that the plugin tests the page that will display all the portfolio entries (template_portfolio.php). Anyway I just commented on your previous comment.

Hi Pirenko, I just can make it to show the number of portfolio items after the skill name under portfolio menu. it shows 0 and when clicked everything disappears. but there are items with that skill.

Pirenko

Hi,
Deactivate all the plugins you might have. If this does not work can you send me a private message with the credentials to access your WP Dashboard? Thanks!

EYYUBOVLAR

It worked after I deactivated the translation plugin. But I need this plugin, it’s essential.

Pirenko

You don’t need any plugin for translation. Are you just translating or are you using multiple languages?

EYYUBOVLAR

I use 2 languages

Pirenko

What plugin are you using? I remind you that plugin compatibility is not ensured by themes here, but I know some people who used qTranslate with this theme…

EYYUBOVLAR

yes, I use qTranslate. Is there any way to get them work together?

Pirenko

The only way I can try to see why it’s not working is if you send me a private message with the credentials to access your WP Dashboard.
Cheers!

EYYUBOVLAR

wow, it worked after I reactivated the plugin :)

Hey,

Great theme and support. :)

Two questions:

1) Is there a way to remove the loading (hourglass?) thing – Make the page display each item being loaded instead only loading the page AFTER everything is completed? My site has a lot of images and I don’t want users to wait for everything to load. Not sure if you get what I mean.

2) The menus on the left doesn’t seem to have drop down feature, is there a way to activate it?

Pirenko

Hi,
1 – I assume you are talking about the portfolio pages… If this is the case the content can only be displayed properly after all the images are loaded to create that nice tile effect. So it’s a bad idea to show the content while it’s loading. If you have a large number of items, why don’t you divide it across multiple portfolio pages? Also there are some tools/plugins to reduce your image size with a minimal loss of quality. Here’s one: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-smushit/
2 – To make a parent button open a submenu create a Custom Link and set the URL to #.
Cheers!

1 – I’m using blog masonry as the homepage. I would like to apply this to individual blog posts as well as each post has a large number of images loading. I’m not really concerned about the bad tile effect. My images are already optimized using Photoshop. Thanks for the link though. May I ask how I can go about doing so?

2 – Thanks for this, may I know if it can display the sub menus during a mouseover instead of click?

Pirenko

Hi,
1 – Add this custom CSS to the respective textfield under Pixia Options>Custom Scripts tab (make a line change between the 3 instructions):
#aj_loader { display:none !important; } #main, #blog_entries_masonr{ visibility:visible !important; opacity:1 !important; filter: alpha(opacity=100); } #folio_masonry, #folio_classic{ display:block !important; }
2 – Open the main.js file and near line 120 you have “jQuery(’#nav-main ul li>a’).click”. Adjust this part of the code so that it does what you need.
Cheers!

I am wondering if there is a way to use a colored outline for the portfolio mouseover or just a border foe th element to indicate mouseover rather than the current blackout span with the text that flies in. SOmething simpler

Pirenko

You can simply hide the text by adding this code to the Custom CSS textfield under Pixia Options>Custom Scripts tab:.grid_single_title{display:none;}
You can also open the main.js file and change the hover event for the grid_image_wrapper (somewhere near line 1448).
Cheers :nerdy:

perfectchoice

Worked great on removing the title. thanks.

The second part though is instead of the overlay darkening the opacity I wanted to do a border on mouse over. Is that possible? When you remove the title it just makes things black. Id like an alternative way to show the item selected or even a different color than the blackout

Pirenko

Well I have told where to edit the code (depending on what you really want to do other files might need to me changed). If you need assistance with it I can only implement it as a paid customization. Send me a private message for a quote if you are eventually interested.
Cheers!

Hi Pirenko,

The search function doesn’t work. It opens always a 404 error page… Do you have an idea what could going wrong ? Thanks for your help, Vanessa

Pirenko

Some user had this issue before and here’s what he did:
Activated the theme with a new/fresh wordpress install. Then activated the plugins you are using one by one and keep testing the search function. One of them should be interfering with the permalink system or the .htaccess file.
You can try turning off all your plugins and clear the .htaccess file to see if it fixes that issue.

I’ve tried all this, but the problem still remain. I’ve tried to activate another theme (the twenty eleven) and it works fine with this theme. Another idea ? Thanks

Pirenko

Hi,
I made a small adjustment to the cleanup.php file on your server and it’s fine now. This change will be included on the next theme update.
Cheers!

You said to send you a private message about image centering in the masonry view but I don’t see a link for that. Also, when you have more than one line in the copyright text area, it smashes against the div above it, and adding margin or padding in the custom.css menu doens’t help.

I bought this theme and here come my comments : 1- the theme works perfectly 2- very good after sale service (I asked for personal customization and it has been both cheap and very fast) Thank you Pirenko!

I added only a few small css changes to the custom.css file and I’ve also gotten the Smush.it plugin as you recommended but the page is still loading really slowly. I can’t give you the url because it’s limited by IP as it’s on a live server so I would need your IP for you to see it.

Pirenko

Go to my profile page and send me a private message.

It’s taking about 10 seconds to load anything…and it freezes the page and other pages. It wasn’t doing this yesterday when I was working on it. Yesterday you could see the loading animation but today it’s frozen until the page loads.

Pirenko

Disable all the plugins you have. If you made changes to the code try uploading the original file package.

The contact page isn’t loading/working

Pirenko

Once again: the original theme works on all the scenarios… Disable all the plugins you have. If you made changes to the code try uploading the original file package.
Contact me again if after doing this those issues subsist. Also I can’t help you if you don’t send me a link.

I have disabled all plugins but the contact page still isn’t working. I don’t want the site to be live for very long so I will turn on the Gatekeeper plugin when you have finished looking at it: wray-co.com

Pirenko

From what I can see it’s pretty obvious that you made changes to the code. Upload the original theme files and get back to me if you still have these issues.

I have removed the few lines of styling code I did (all at the bottom of the custom.css file) but the problems persist.

Pirenko

I don’t want to be a pain, but the menu looks different and it wasn’t with simple CSS. Wasn’t the theme working perfectly before? Something you have done or installed created these issues. Sometimes plugins mess up the Wordpress database and even after being uninstalled they leave the mess behind…
One more thing please: If you decide to continue this conversation please use the reply button so that we don’t flood the theme with multiple comments all about the same issue.
Thanks!

I used the menu widget so that you can put custom menu items in there. That is all I did. Sorry about creating a new post. There is no way to reply if you visit the page separately and I wasn’t getting emailed because I forgot to check the option to be notified of a reply.

Pirenko

This is my final answer here on Themeforest: contact me by email if you want help with this and I need to be able to upload the theme original files by myself. Cheers!

Hey there! Thank you for creating such a beautiful theme. I have just one little problem. When you go to a post, and click shift+left or shift+right it loads the post before or post after. This makes it very hard for people who comment (including myself) to edit or select any text in the comment box. How can I fix this?

thanks. My site is http://www.unbrokenhorse.com

Pirenko

Hi,
Open the main.js file and near the end of the code remove the functions located after this comment: “BACK AND FORWARD ARROWS ON PORTFOLIO SECTION”.

Olá Pirenko, falando em bom português, estou com uns problemas no “tema”, pois no menu quando seleccionas a pagina portfolio, não aparece o submenu de filtro, e nao consigo usar o masonary.

Although I’m a proud portuguese speaker we should comply with Themeforest rules: English is the official language here :D
Anyway, I have just replied to your previous comments. Cheers!

Hello,

Great theme. Perfect for artist gallery.

One question. Why is all the CSS embedded at the bottom? I’m a web designer too so it’s not good to embed to but link to an external CSS file.

Is there a way to move the CSS to the CSS file? or would that break some things?

Thanks

Kevin

Pirenko

Hi,
I assume you are talking about the Custom CSS that you placed on the Pixia Options>Custom Scripts section. I don’t see any problem with adding the custom CSS at the bottom, but if you prefer you can manually change the custom.css file inside the css folder. Add your custom code at the end of the page.
Thank you for your kind comments and Happy 2013!

Hi Pirenko,

I enjoy working with this very much! Thank you for a solid job! :)

I would like to suggest / request two features for the next update that I think would be very useful for everyone!

1. A sidebar to the default template for all standard pages. Currently, information based pages display as full width. With an addition of a right-sidebar, the theme’s flexibility can really be extended. I would greatly appreciate this addition.

2. Social media actions at the bottom of every project page. Where we have the “Love it” icon, Facebook Like & Pintrest action buttons would be very useful!

Many thanks and look forward to seeing these updates!

Cheers, Andrew

Pirenko

Hello,
Thank you for your kind comments. Here’s what I have to say:
1 – I decided not to have a right sidebar, because this will make the main content to narrow, because of the left menu size. I prefer too keep the users with their focus on what’s more important on each page. The theme has 3 widgetized areas which I think are enough.
2 – Most of the themes that show this feature here are using a plugin for this. So this is what I recommend you do: grab a social network sharing plugin for this. They all look the same and generally do their job pretty well.
Cheers and happy 2013!
