Hi, just purchased the theme. Everything is great except I am not getting the B&W effect on the feature images. Not sure if I am doing something wrong or what. Feature images that I loaded are in color. they show up fine but have no hover effect. Help?
Ok I see now that the grayscale/color hover only works on the blog pages not on static pages. Unfortunately my client does not have a blog nor does he plan on starting one. Can this feature be used on static pages? I realize this would be considered custom but would this modification be difficult? I am not a coder but I can handle pasting in a few lines of code if that is what it would take. Thanks
If you remove the following line from style.css you should have that effect on all pages:

I need to make out of one featured image an image map. Do you know a proper way of doing that? Is that something you plan to support? If not, do you know by chance a way of doing it within your theme or should I look for an alternative plugin?

Hi, I don’t plan on supporting image maps like that. It’s a rather specific feature to support for everyone. You might want to check out a plugin!

Hi, Not sure what you mean? The page title is available in posts and pages.

Hi, I mean when I click the drop down menu to choose a style for my posts, what I see is Page Title style only. Other styles, like Intro Title mentioned in your help file, are not available.
Oops, looks like I need to update the help file. Some of the other themes come with highlighting, etc, but Pocket only comes with the page title.

So I’ve tried searching all of the questions and forum, but couldn’t find information on my two small questions:
1. How can I update the metadata shown on Google to update the description? The text posted seems to be a random capture from the site and I’d like to create a static description. (And if you have an article with SEO tips, that would be awesome too!!!)
2. I’ve noticed that on the mobile version, the Previous/Next buttons are great…until you hit a quote. At that point, the user is stuck and unable to go forward or backward as these buttons are missing. I’m not sure if adding these buttons for quotes is on your radar, but I hope that you might consider so that visitors are able to continue to navigate through all types of posts. Thank you for your consideration!

Hi Selena, As a quick fix for the next/prev post links on quotes, you could add the following CSS to Appearance -> Customize -> Pocket Styling -> Custom CSS. It will keep the next/prev tabs visible on mobile.

I’ve purchased your Pocket theme and am having trouble installing on WordPress via GoDaddy. Are there any step by step instructions out there how to get it uploaded? For some reason I cannot upload the Pocket folder into the FTP File Manager into the THEMES folder. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Love the look of Pocket and looking forward to using it.
Hi Bryan, What exactly is the issue with uploading? If you are uploading via FTP, you should unzip the Pocket-UploadToWP.zip file and upload only the pocket theme folder to your wp-content/themes folder.
You can also install the theme via the WordPress admin. See this link for more info on that: http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Themes/#Adding_New_Themes_using_the_Administration_Panels With this method, you’ll be uploading the Pocket-UploadToWP.zip file. No need to unzip it using this route.

Great theme! I was wondering if you could answer a couple of questions before I decide on making a purchase though?
1) How much control would I have over the top of the template? As in the header, logo area, and links across the top. Could I change their position, fonts, turn some on or off?
2) Is there an option to show the number of comments per post, and could the comments be showing by default instead of having to click to view them?

Hi, You don’t have a ton of customization options with Pocket. It’s a very simple theme and meant for getting up and running with little to no setup. You can add a logo, change the accent color, and add some custom CSS via the Customizer.
There isn’t an option for the comments, you’d have to change the template files to achieve that.

I have a fair bit of experience with html and css, so I should be able to do something with the top right navigation.
As for the comments, do you think that’s something I could get someone to do for me? I think you mentioned elsewhere that someone would do things like that for extra paid work?

Hi there, I just submitted a fix for this actually. Looks like Firefox was adding a faux bold effect to the text. The update should be available in the next couple hours. You’ll be looking for version 2.3!

Hi, It would make more sense if the fixed colored arrows on individual posts were in the same direction as the Newer/Older Posts at the bottom of the blogroll. At the moment Previous post points left while Older posts points right and vice versa.

Furthermore, POST COMMENT button does not follow the accent colour (has a fixed #DD574C) unlike let’s say the SEND button on the contact form 7 or those arrows mentioned previously.
Also, no comments are shown at the end of post if this WP setting is activated: “Automatically close comments on articles older than…” I would expect this to disallow posting new comments on old articles, but not to hide existing approved comments.

What code can Iuse to put a small text in footer?

Hi, Unfortunately we can’t help you customize the theme, just help with bugs and updates. If you want it to always be visible, you need to place it below the #footer element.

Hi there, is there a way to add my google analytics code into the theme? Other themes I’ve used usually have a space to insert it.
Also, what would be the best way to upload the updated version as I don’t see a automatic updater and I don’t want to lose all the changes I made.

Hi, You’ll have to add that Google code to your footer by using the editor (Appearance -> Editor).
We are currently working on an auto updater, but currently you’ll have to reupload the files. I should note, even when we do release the updater, you would still lose your changes if you made them to the theme itself. If you want to make changes to a theme and not lose your changes upon updating, you should be using a child theme. http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

Prepurchase question, love the theme but can I remove the b&w to colour hover effect? I simply want it always in colour or b&w depending on the image i upload. If i upload a colour image i want it to be in colour, if i upload a b&w image i want it b&w, so no hover effect.

Yep, you’ll just have to override it the CSS. It’s been posted a few times in the comments and in the support forum as well.
