this is definitely really cool and super unique… if it just had a few more features, i’d be sold. don’t mind the loss of the sidebar so much – but it makes it less useable imho. i feel that the footer should be obvious, having to click a button to view the footer is gimmicky. especially for non tech heads… would love to see “about author” / “related posts” in the blog posts… & would love to see a few more pages w/ more features, and some shortcodes added… i’d be sold. this is nice. but it’s almost too simple right now, even though it’s awesome.
Hi, I assure you, all those things were left out and hidden on purpose, not to make it “gimmicky” as you put it. If I added all of those things in, the theme would be the exact opposite of what it’s intended to be. I can just as easily build themes like that, and have plenty of them for people who prefer them. Pocket is for people who don’t want any of that noise, and it’s selling just fine as is.
Mike
@Mike: totally agree with your points. It is a nice surprise that a theme as simple as Pocket has received such a good feedback and sales by the community.
In a marketplace that is ruled by themes that are nothing but a compilation of skinned plugins and 1000 theme options, Pocket makes a huge difference.
It shows that there is still hope in here for simple, solid and well-designed themes.
Well played Mike, keep it up.
John
Thank you sir, appreciate the support!
Mike
Seriously beautiful theme Mike, love the giant photos and quotes
Thanks friend, appreciate the kind words.
Mike
Nope, it’s presented as is! You’d have to make those modifications if you wanted it to look like that.
Mike
Hello, A few things… Concerning comment form : - name of the fields are not displayed on IE 9 - if a requiered field is not set the error message is very brutal and exit the page ! - no * on requiered fields as mentionned On Iphone, the menu is not correctly displayed The “hover” of the images in front/blog page is not working the same way on IE, Firefox and Chrome, Ipad. Pocket 1.1 with these bugs fixed would be perfect.
Hi there, I’ll be fixing that up today! Thanks for the heads up!
Mike
Hi, You can grab the latest version of Pocket from your downloads section. It has fixed the bugs mentioned above. The hover effect of the images won’t be the same on mobile, because there isn’t a ‘hover’ state for taps. It also won’t be the same on IE because they don’t support some filters.
Mike
Lovely again Mike.
Can the B&W effect on images be disabled?
Yep, you’d have to just remove a few lines of CSS . I could help you with that post-purchase!
Mike
Gentle persuasion – you could go far!
I totally LOVE this teme, I bought it the first time I saw it. However, there’s one little bug: when the user clicks at the bottom button to display archives, etc., there appears the GO search button in the upper left corner of the screen. You have to scroll up to see it, but it’s there. I’d love to have this fixed. Great work, indeed!
I’ll check it out asap! Thanks for the heads up!
Mike
Hey there, I just checked out the theme but can’t replicate the issue as you suggested. When I have the footer open (and closed) I don’t see the Go button. Hop on the forum if you want to further explore the bug! http://okaythemes.com/support
Mike
Beautiful theme; something information architects would be proud of! One small support question; I need to set the Blog title as a (responsive) logo image, not text – what do I need to edit? (thought it the image logo was a native WP thing – but mistaken). Thanks!
Hi, you can upload a logo image with the Customizer! See the help file for details on how to do that. You need to go to Appearance -> Customize.
Mike
Super, thanks – didn’t see this here – appearance -> customise -> pocket styling -> logo upload… Brilliant.
Thanks
Love the theme! Is there any way for the small thumbnails – in the Acoustic Guitar post for example – to open in a lightbox popup instead of just top-left justified on a blank page?
Hi there, Unfortunately there is no lightbox support here by default! You could use a plugin to do that though. A quick search says this might do exactly what you’re looking for: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/lightbox-gallery/
Hope that helps!
Mike
hello! the only things I don’t love about this (sorry) are the pull-out quote styles and the date format. I would also like to be able to set a max size at which the content doesn’t scale up any more. can these tweaks be applied manually to the theme without too much difficulty/head-scratching? thanks very much for your help.
Hi, You could fix these things, but you’d have to know a little code to do so. If you know CSS , it shouldn’t be a problem.
Mike
Bug? When I show posts by category or tag the ‘Read More’ link doesn’t show up all the time -most do, some not.
Can’t figure out why. All have a <!
-more-> tag in it.Cheers, Conrad
Hi Conrad, Not sure what’s going on there. Hop on the forum and we’ll take a look!

All solved, thanks!
Great looking theme! Does it support audio/soundcloud as a thumbnail? Or possibly in the excerpt?
Not sure what you mean by that actually. You could always add your audio/soundcloud code into the post area.
Mike
beautiful, simply put
Having a problem with posting videos. I’ve put the following in: http://bit.ly/SSEOVt and no video is showing up. Seems like a simple process…am I missing something here?
You need to change the name value from ‘the_flow’ to ‘video’.
Mike
Thanks!
Hi Mike, loving this theme – but have stumbled on 3 small bugs
1) In iOS 6 (iPhone 4S), the search button does not fit next to menu bar in portrait – see here for an image – http://getpopshop.com/pocket-issue/ is there a quick work around so it fits?
2) If I you use a logo image, the image does not seem to be responsive – resizing the window or viewing on a smaller device does not resize the logo
3) Getting the same issue as above when you click the footer menu bar in Safari 6 – the search button moves to the top right hand corner and sits there until user minimises the footer
OMG ! I was seeking for a theme like this for ages!! One column post, giant images, minimal and breathless!! <3
I’ll buy it like in a few hours when I get my credit card ready.
So glad that someone read my thoughts! Amazing Mike!
P.S. Can I change the background color?
- Dee
Just a great work!
...the usual brilliance, very well done !
Hi Mike,
Great theme. The search icon on the menu is of on chrome and iPhone. How would you fix this.
Thanks,
Jared
Just submitted a fix for the mobile menu! It’s now sitting in line with the search icon. The update should be approved and available in your Downloads section later today or tomorrow.
Thanks for the heads up!
Mike
Hi Mike,
Do you have an update on this?
Hi Jared, This was fixed a few updates ago. Download the latest files from your Downloads section to fix it up!
Mike
Hi Mike,
Wow, truly great work. I love this theme. I can see my illustration stuff working really well with this theme. I’d really welcome the option of a gallery post that would let me swipe or click through several images in that one frame. Would that be achievable with a plugin?
Hi there, You could probably manage that with a plugin, but I don’t know any off the top of my head. Maybe the flexslider plugin? You’d have to check it out!
