Hi Mike,
How do you achieve the quote look?
Got it its in the posting options…
Beautiful theme but I think It has some problems to work correctly with IE. Please check.
Thanx
What is IE? Modern browsers FTW !
I hate IE but unfortunately someone uses it and IE9 does not correctly display the theme
Intended to create a slider for a blog post, not just a picture?
No sliders on Pocket, just images!
Mike
Centered images inside a post don’t center properly—is there a fix for this?
Thanks for the heads up! I’ll take a look and get an update asap!
Mike
Don’t see a changelog on your page—has this issue been fixed?
Just read that you’re getting married…congrats! I honestly hope you’re not working on this theme right now!!
It’s on the short list of updates first thing when I get back in a few days. Really appreciate your patience! Keep an eye on the changelog here: http://themes.okaythemes.com/updates/pocket-wordpress-theme/
Mike
Not seeing this update in the changelog—any news on the update?
Hi there, Thanks for your patience! The theme was just updated to include fixes for centered images. The update should be available in the next day, or as soon as ThemeForest approves the update!
Mike
Thanks!
What is the recommended file size for featured image?
Hi, I think the images in the demo are sized roughly 1200-1400px wide by 600px tall, and their file size ranges from 100kb – 200kb.
Mike
Thanks for the update! & thanks for the css to remove the date on pages. Could you please recommend a method via css to appropriately reduce the space previously assigned to the date. Its quite large when viewed on a mobile.
Cheers, Stef
Hi Stef, You’d have to add something into your media-queries.css file. Keep in mind we don’t provide customizations and any help I’ve given was complimentary.
Off the top of my head, you’ll have to open up media-queries.css, find .date-title and add a new entry below it. Maybe something like this:
.page .date-title { margin-bottom: 0; }
Keep in mind, this is untested, but it should give you a head start on making your modification!
Mike
Hi, an astounding theme you created; probably some of the best typography I’ve seen on TF in a long while, something missing or not done well on a lot of current themes!
I’m interested in this for my personal blog but just curious as to how your theme would handle vertical-sized images for the headers?
Thanks
Hi there, Vertical images work in the same way basically. The theme will take the image and stretch it the width of the post, but keep the proper proportions of the image. They will take up more vertical space, but should fit in without an issue. The theme won’t automatically crop the images like you see on the demo! Of course it could be setup to do that, but you’d have to know a little code.
Hope that helps!
Mike
Someone else mentioned this, but if you build in a full archive page, I will buy. The three-post widget in the toggle-able footer doesn’t really cut it if people want to ‘explore’ your site.
But so many kudos for the typography. I can’t tell you how many themes I’ve seen with a bajillion customization options that are just awful.
Hi Mike, Thanks for the suggestion. Definitely adding an archive soon. It’s been a crazy week since launch, as I’m getting married on Friday. Archive page soon to follow though!
Mike
Ha! I was doing design work the week of my wedding. Not worth it! You’ll need that headspace.
Congrats, man. And I look forward to seeing the archive page when it comes out. If you’re fairly certain you’re going to do it, I’ll buy.
I went ahead and added an archive page! You can see it in action here: http://themes.okaythemes.com/pocket/archive/ The update was just submitted to ThemeForest, so it may not be available for a few hours yet.
Mike
Hi Mike
Lovely theme and I installed it but I can’t see the ‘Customise’ choice in menu under appearance at all.
Is there any reason why it’s not there?
Cheers
K
It’s right under the theme title, etc. http://cl.ly/KCcU
Mike
Great theme! Using it for a new blog.
Here are a few thing I would really appreciate:
1. A “code”-Shortcode like the “quotes”-formatting. Like on this site: http://daneden.me/2012/09/changing-my-ways/
2. Text highlighting like the first sentence here: http://daneden.me/2012/01/why-do-my-fonts-look-so-bad-in-x/
3. A option of setting a max-width for the images via a panel.
Apart from that, it’s a great theme and I love it!
Hi Melanie, I probably won’t be adding any shortcodes. I would like to keep Pocket as minimal as possible!
If you want the modifications you suggest, you may have to find someone to help you do them. We don’t help with customizations, rather supporting the theme for bugs, etc.
Hope that helps!
Mike
Can you fix this?
Hi Melanie, I’ll address this in the next update!
Mike
Custom field tag “video” works great but the videos inside posts don’t re-size.
Seeing as you’re already using fitVids here, might as well apply to video’s embedded in posts.
Does this theme support post formats?
Hi Mike,
Thinking of purchasing this theme, but I see that the blog uses the #more jump for a single article. If I purchase, will you tell me how to modify this theme to remove the jump? Otherwise I have to hack WP which I really don’t want to.
Thanks in advance! Tom
P.S. By the way, is it true that IE9 does not display the theme correct, as is mentioned above?
Is there a way to add a “comments” meta tag next to the date on the front of each post?
Hi, You can, but you’ll have to know a little code. It is currently not listed up there by default or option!
Mike
Mike,
Can this be handled in the support forums?
Dynamite theme! Looks fantastic. A few questions:
1) Can you set any page as the home page for the template?
2) Margins appear in your posts on the desktop version. Do you have a full-width option available for posts and pages built into the template as well?
Amazing theme, just made a purchase last night! Quick question:
If I want to use Typekit instead of the default modifications you have in place, what do I have to change in any of the files? I know how to implement Typekit, but I tried just entering the code into the CSS , but no luck as it just defaults to Helvetica Neue.
Thanks!
Hi there, Sorry for the delay, just returning from my honeymoon! You may have even figured this out by now.
You should be able to just enter your new font stack below the current CSS . For example titles have the Novocento font, but below that I’ve added something you might get at Typekit:
font-family: 'NovecentowideLightBold', 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, sans-serif; font-family: 'kulturista-web', 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif;The theme will pick up the last CSS rule, which would be the font from Typekit, Kulturista. If that doesn’t work, you may try adding !important to it.
Hope that helps!
Mike
Hi Mike,
I see in the change log for 1.1 that it:
Fixed mobile menu, which was pushing the search icon to the next line.
However, I just uploaded 1.2 and the search icon is still being pushed on the iPhone. Did it revert back?
When I load the theme form okaythemes is looks correct but does not when I upload the zip. I even did a clean install to make sure none of my tinkering caused this.
Thanks.
Hop on the forum and we’ll take a look!

Might have found another problem:
When viewing categories, links within the posts do not work. When viewing individual pages/posts or in the landing page loop links work fine.
Hi there, Hop on the forum and we’ll take a look. At first glance, I can’t reproduce this issue. Tried on my local install and the live site.
