I hired someone to build this website for me, and now I am editing some of the content. Maybe you can help me out.
When I enable the latest tweets widget in the custom sidebar, the first letters of the tweets fail to show up. Any idea of what is going on here?

Hi, Please go to “Theme Options > Portfolio” and change the field “Featured Image Link Method” to “Open Portfolio Entry” to disable the lightbox.
Where do I edit the width of drop-down navigation and background color of Drop-Down Navagation ??
The CSS code for the drop down navigation starts in the “style.css” file on line 3511. Width and bg color can be changed on line 3544 and 3550
I would like to use the widget CUSTOM : Latest Posts but only show one category of posts. There are no built in options, but I don’t want to use a different plugin/widget because then the thumbnail’s frame doesn’t match the rest of the theme. How can I choose which category to show?
Sorry, the widget doesn’t have such a filter function. But I will write this down on the feature list for the next update.

One more question. Does the theme support custom post types? I have created a custom post type ‘obituaries’ and want my blog to show these items, not my ‘posts’. How do I accomplish this?
You just have to integrate it into the theme. The support comes from WordPress itself. You’ll have to dig into the code for that or you can write me a mail regarding customization to support[at]ruventhemes.com

Can I show full post instead of excerpt in the “entry” shortcode?
I’m wanting to show a full formatted post inside a tab but it’s just taking the text and removing the formatting. I am very close to buying this theme. However I need to know if it supports multiple header dropdown menus. I want two custom dropdown menus that go in the header. Is this possible? Thank you!
The navigation menu supports drop downs. You can configure them however you want in the WordPress Menu Manager (Appearance > Menus)

Hi, yes that is possible. Is your site online and can you send me the link to the page where you don’t want the menu? I need to access the page to get the page ID. Then I can provide you with the CSS code to hide the menu

Just purchased the theme and am currently having an issue with the twitter feed in my footer section. It won’t allow me to save my twitter username – ie. after clicking “save” it reverts back to yours and displays “error while loading Twitter feed”
I’m comfortable editing the code, but this is my first stab at a wordpress theme, so am unsure where to start. The value didn’t seem to be stored in the DB.

I want to disable the lightbox for the featured image thumbnail in the portfolio. I want it to link to open the portfolio item. I have selected “Open Portfolio Entry” in “Theme Options > Portfolio” but the image still opens in Lightbox. Thanks Bridget
Hi Bridget, do you maybe have a caching plugin active? If so, please delete the cache so the changes can apply.
Hi Ruven, I’m not sure what you mean by a caching plug-in. If you mean a specific plug in to cache pages/the site then no I don’t have anything like that. I’ve had this set for some time and it hasn’t changed. The text links to the portfolio item but the featured image opens in a lightbox. The site is www.estherstanhope.com

I saw your mail and logged into your site. There is no portfolio page set up. I guess you ment to change the portfolio items on the front page. Since it’s a shortcode that displays the items, you have to add the following attribute to change the link method:
I already did this for you when I was logged in
Another question - Social media links. How can I add otehrs that are not in the theme list. for example I have been asked to add links to Scoop it!, BlogSpot and Twylah.

I saw your code update to make it possible to choose a category for the recent posts widget. Is there a simple addition I can make to this to make it possible to choose a custom post type?
I’m also wondering if anyone has an idea how to make my post content wrap around the featured image (when the image is less than 100% width of the container it’s in)... Thanks
To make your post content wrap around an image, I’d suggest that you don’t use a featured image at all, but to use a normal left-aligned post image
