is there any documentation with this theme? I too can’t get the slider to work and the footer.php file doesn’t doesn’t contain the line of code you mention in the fix.

The documentation is inside the HELP folder.
There is a new version of this theme, and that line of code mentioned does not need anymore to be edited. Now all javascript is improved and optimized.
I guess by the date you purchase the theme the new update was made, so your slider should work fine.

I am wondering if there is a way for the home page widgets to carry in some of the formatting from the post? For example, I am using the Custom Posts From Category widget and I have text that I would like to show up on individual lines, not as a paragraph. I have trying putting in break codes at the end of each line but it’s still not working, everything is still showing up as a paragraph.
