Orman! I really DO enjoy your template!! It is almost perfect!! I just have a few request for next version. Could you add some kind of “Favorite or Like” button for blog posts?? (Just like what you did on the “Memo” theme) Also could you do image slide like what you did on “Memo” as well?? I hope to hear from you!

I think you are amazingly talented!!!!

Thank you!

Hey, thanks for the suggestion, will pop it on the consideration list :) If you need any help with the theme please head over to the support forums http://support.premiumpixels.com

Hi, Orman,

I inspected this theme with firebug and it seems you are adding javascript in a fancy way. I tried once a free theme in which all javascript files were added through functions.php and actually I could not add extra .js through header.php. So, my question is – after I purchase this theme will I be able to add my own extra javascript files in a simple sequence (etc. <script type=”text/javascript” src=”js/myscript.js”></script>) just by adding to header.php or it will be impossible?

Thanks for reply.

ThemeZilla

Hey, it’s always recommended to register your script in functions.php and hook it to the head or foot however, if you really wanted to, there’s nothing stopping you adding it to header.php manually.

Can you share the exact sequence of how the extra .js file should be added to the header.php?

<script src=”<?php bloginfo( ‘template_url’ ); ?>/js/myscript.js” type=”text/javascript”></script>?

<script type=”text/javascript” src=”./js/myscript.js”></script>?

<script type=”text/javascript” src=”js/myscript.js”></script>?

Cause I abandoned one theme previously because of this only.

Or it will be covered in the documentation?

ThemeZilla

Here’s a nice writeup http://wp.tutsplus.com/tutorials/the-ins-and-outs-of-the-enqueue-script-for-wordpress-themes-and-plugins/ but as I’ve already mentioned, if you want to add it manually to header.php then you can.

Hi, will it be possible to make a blog template for this theme? Jus copy all the content from index.php to a new file (let’s say template-blog.php) and thats it?

ThemeZilla

Hi, the whole theme is a blog template, not sure I understand your question. If you wanted a different homepage, then you would create a homepage template rather than creating a blog template.

I would like to add some extra fancy stuff (like greetings text, slider and some extra info) to the index page of the blog. Everything above the posts. After this I would create a page in the menu “blog” and it would be everything the same as index page just without all the fancy stuff. So my question is – will it be possible to make a blog template for this theme just by copying all the content from index.php to a new file (let’s say template-blog.php)?

ThemeZilla

Yep, you could do it that way or create a new template-home.php, whichever you felt comfortable doing.

Hi, is there the italian language in this theme?

ThemeZilla

Hi, there is indeed a .po file included which will enable you to translate the theme into another language.

after i translate the file .po?

ThemeZilla

Here’s a pretty decent rundown of the translation process – http://themehybrid.com/themes/hybrid/translating

Orman, greetings!

First of all, I really love this theme of yours and your work overall. I run a small techy website and wanted to use your theme.. but, I had 2 doubts and would appreciate if you can answer them for me.

1. Can I run the entire website in Full-Width layout? 2. In the Full-Width layout, can the text area be plain white? It is currently a light greyish image that, but I wanted plain white for better readability. Basically, what I am saying, is it possible to remove “background: url(“images/primary_bg_full.png”)” with plain white inside the reading area?

Many thanks in advance.

ThemeZilla

Hi,

1. Unfortunately not, you would need to modify the templates to do so.

2. Yes you can remove any images or change any CSS you do not need just as you would a normal website.

Thanks for the quick reply Orman.

For #1 above, can we atleast run all of the posts in full-width?

ThemeZilla

Unfortunately not out of the box no, you would need to edit the template files/CSS.

Hi Orman,

Great template. I’m using the widget for two 125×125 ads side by side. They are interlaced .png files so they should be transparent, but they aren’t showing up that way. I used the same widget in another template and they worked fine. Can you help me out?

This theme is great, but can I make the request that when you register the sidebars that you give them and ID so that they can be unregistered in a Child Theme?

It would just be a matter of something like this:
register_sidebar(array(
        'id' => 'footer_area_1',
        'name' => 'Footer Area 1',
        'before_widget' => '<div id="%1$s" class="widget %2$s clearfix">',
        'after_widget' => '</div>',
        'before_title' => '<h3 class="widget-title">',
        'after_title' => '</h3>',
    ));
Instead of:
register_sidebar(array(
        'name' => 'Footer Area 1',
        'before_widget' => '<div id="%1$s" class="widget %2$s clearfix">',
        'after_widget' => '</div>',
        'before_title' => '<h3 class="widget-title">',
        'after_title' => '</h3>',
    ));

Thanks!

ThemeZilla

Hey, you can indeed make the request :) Note taken and thanks :)

Hey, can I somehow change the style of the gallery function? I mean the WP image gallery function [gallery] Because it looks pretty weired. The images are overlayed.

Hi Orman! Thank you for presenting such a beautiful theme!

I’ve spent a bit of time going through the previous comments, but I still have one question before I suggest this theme to a friend. (I’m new to WordPress, as you’ll see by my question…)

Can I change the logo image relatively easily? (I’m cool with changing the image file in the host location, if that’s what needs to be done…)

(Hopefully my question isn’t too silly.)

Cheers!

ThemeZilla

Hi Liz, you can upload your own logo right from the theme options – very simple.

Hi,

The one thing that is making me hesitate to click the purchase button is the lack of a mobile theme. Do you have any suggestions on how I could best serve blog visitors that are on smartphones? Maybe a mobile theme that could be used in conjunction with your theme?

Thanks!

ThemeZilla

Hi, you could look at a number of plugins to do this for you, or indeed consult a developer to help you create your own. I’ve not tried it myself but I believe WPTouch is a solid solution http://www.bravenewcode.com/store/plugins/wptouch-pro/

I use a feature image for each post, but this image does not show up on Facebook shares or on the RSS feed. Is there a fix or workaround for this?

This is frustrating. I can’t figure out how to change the font-size of the post content.

Also, I can’t use the support forums because I purchased this as part of the birthday bundle. My purchase code is invalid. I am getting really really anxious because the font size of the posts are so friggin small. :(

Can anyone help me???? Please?

ThemeZilla

Hi,

Purchases of the bundle are as-is purchases and are not eligible for support from authors – this was indeed stated on the sales page at the time.

In short, there is no physical way we can validate your purchase as you have effectively bought from the Envato account and not our account. Authors only have the ability to verify purchases of their own files – we just cannot physically verify your purchase I’m afraid :(

If you did want/need support/updates for the theme you would need to make a direct purchase here http://themeforest.net/item/premium-pixels-fancy-pants-blog-magazine-theme/232838

For CSS changes you will need to find the CSS classes or ID’s that style the particular elements you are trying to change and change their values. A good tool for finding the relevant classes is FireBug – http://getfirebug.com/ – it’s an awesome tool that I use daily, check out the demo for an explanation of how it works.

Armed with FireBug you should be able to inspect your site to see what values to change/add/remove. Changing the font-size on the body class would be a good starting point.

Hi, Orman. I do know that bundle purchases aren’t eligible for theme support. Anyway, I use firebug and the inspect element feature of Chrome. I have already figured out the problem. Thanks for trying to help. Awesome design, by the way. :)

ThemeZilla

Great stuff, glad you managed to get it sorted :)
