Hi Ed:

Is it possible to put a video in the slider? I noticed in previous comments that you were planning to add this feature, but I can’t figure out how.

Thanks if you can help!

Hi Ed:

Following up to let you know that I was able to do this using the Featured Video Plus plugin. It works beautifully, if anyone else has the same request.

Hi Kim,

Very sorry for the delayed reply.

I never got around to adding this feature. I’m working on some new themes at the moment which will have this. If I can find time I’ll bring the changes into a Proffet update :)

Glad to hear you got it working well for your purposes in the meantime.

Hi Ed,

Thanks for a great WP theme.

How do you link directly to your shop from the widgets (Website Middle Widget Areas 1-4)? I have used “TF – Featured Content” as described in the documentation, but can only link to “Pages” and not my product categories.

BTW – Is it possible to get 8 widgets in this section instead of 4?

Hope you can help!

Hi there,

sorry for the delayed reply.

At the moment the Featured content widget just supports linking to pages. You could create an empty page and then do a 301 redirect to your product categories using Redirection https://wordpress.org/plugins/redirection/

Re: 8 instead of 4 widgets. You can load more than 1 widget in each widget area.

Hi Ed,

Thank you. It was very helpful!

Can you also help with a guide to change some of the buttons and text in the template? More info, sale, cart, account etc.? All the elements from WooCommerce are changed, but how do i translate the rest?

Hi there,

The easiest way to do this is to enter your own language strings using Poedit.

This video guide explains it all

Hi Ed,

I’m using the download of Proffet from this past February themeforest-4047481-proffet-responsive-woocommerce-theme-wordpress_theme.zip.

when i downloaded your last update at the start of this past year I unzipped it and only pushed some of your new files to the server so i wouldn’t loose all my settings. All seems to be working. but my product pages seem to be showing broken images on the pop up windows. The X is gone and the maximize icon. and i thought there was a scroll arrow on the window as well but i could be wrong about that

http://www.clauderaymonddesign.com/product/weeping-angels-set/ if you click on one of the additional images to open the pop up you’ll see what i mean. is there another file i should push?

Wordpress is looking to do an update to version 4.0.1 and WooCommerce wants to jump to 2.1.0. I don’t have a development server to do testing on before going live since i’m a low end techy guy..the site is hosted with my provider FatCow. if i simply run the updates from with the wordpress admin should i come across any issues?

thanks as always..

Hi Steve,

I think you need to do the following:

a.) Create a dev/staging environment. This is a MUST. Especially for eCommerce sites. Never ever do live updates to WooCommerce without testing on dev/staging first.

b.) Create a child theme – move your customizations in there c.) Update the parent theme to the latest version. d.) Update WooCommerce/WordPress to the latest version

Once you’ve fully tested everything you can apply the changes to your live enivoronment.

This is a lof of work but it’s really necessary to avoid disruption to your live store.

Best,

Ed

Hello

I was wondering if this support latest version of wordpress and woocommerce ? :)

Also is there a Catalog mode only option, or do you need to tweak that bit yourself :o) ?
