Hi, I’m having trouble with the individual product pages. In the demo, when a product thumbnail is clicked it loads into the larger box above it. Additionally in the demo, when you put your mouse over the larger product image, it has a magnify effect.

My install is not behaving this way. On mine, the thumbnails open in a lightbox and there is no magnify function to the larger image. How can I set it up so it works the same as the demo?

Thanks!

Hi there,

Thanks for getting in touch!

Your behaviour is the default WooCommerce behaviour.

For the effect on the demo site, you need to install this free plugin.

http://wordpress.org/plugins/cloud-zoom-for-woocommerce/

Then disable the default WooCommerce lightbox via WooCommerce settings.

Hope this helps,

Ed

Hi Ed,

Last one I promise.

Is it possible to make the carousel images clickable to the same URL as the button?

themesforge

Hi,

Not at the moment.

there is the alternate display where text and button is hidden (via the Homepage options in the Theme Customizer) which then makes the slides links.

This might be an option for you.

Before purchase can you tell me if some of the ecommerce features like add to cart, price etc can be turned off. We are making a coupon site and don’t need those features but like your layout.

H there,

thanks for getting in touch!

Not out of the box no – you need some php/css tweaks but it’s pretty straightforward and I can help you :)

@webgirl2009 – you won’t find a more helpful theme dev anywhere, so you can’t go wrong here.

Hi Ed, I just sent you a couple emails, and thought I’d just ping you here as well since you were having some email issues last time. I’m launching today (woohoo!) but those couple tweaks/fixes would be a bonus. Cheers!

themesforge

Hey Jeff – thanks for the message! got the emails this time – just dropped you some replies :)

Great to hear you’re launching – let me know if there’s anything else you need.

Hi Ed:

Is there a way to order slides? I’m set on the slide I want first, but I’m experimenting with different images for the rest, and each time I have to start over completely to keep the first one first, since it seems to default to displaying the newest first. Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks!

Kim

Hi there Kim,

This is the easiest method for ordering of posts/sliders

Hi Ed,

On the demo, the deal widgets that lead to Bikinis & Jacket Clearance sale- those lead to generic product categories. So if there was a Bikini that wasn’t on sale, it would show up too, correct? I’m trying to have customers land on a page with only the sale items. So to do that, I would probably need to create a product category (call it November Promo or something) and link to that. Correct? Or is there a way to do it that I’m missing? I see I could display Featured Products in the widget areas, but what I need is a shop page that only shows certain sale items.

Default-user

Actually product tags do the trick and can be easily deleted later.

themesforge

Hi Jeff,

I was going to suggest using tags but you answered your own question first :):)

Glad you got a solution quickly!

Another ?- When I choose the TF – Featured Content widget for a Middle Widget Area, it displays the featured image for the page I link to. However, I don’t want that featured image appearing on the actual page! Would I need to hack the template file to prevent the featured image from appearing on the page?

themesforge

Hi Jeff,

There is a solution to that too :)

There is another page template called “Left Nav – No image” or “Sidebar Left – No subnav – no images”

That might work for you?

Ed

Default-user

Ahh thanks Ed, but I don’t want the sidebar so I’ve been using No Sidebars – One column for most of my pages. My solution for now is to redirect to a second page. Not ideal, but better than hacking up your template! Maybe a future update could include a No Sidebars – One Column – No Images !?

themesforge

Done :) I’ll send you a mail now.

Hi, great theme so far. Just a few tiny problems I could do with some help.

1) How do I get images to display next to the slider on the home page?

2) How to I add custom menu items next to “Log In – Cart – Checkout”

Thanks

themesforge

Hi there,

thanks for getting in touch!

re: 1.) These images are associated with Deals – you need to be using the homepage deals template for the starters. I do detail this a bit in the docs that come with the team – take a look through those and let me know if that answers your question.

re: 2.) You can’t for the moment – this is a custom menu meant for just WooCommerce links. You could manually change this but I wouldn’t recommend it for now.

Hi Ed,

Hope you are well.

Is there a quick way I can move the shop sidebar on the individual product page to the right?

I am presuming I can do this in the single product template page by re-organising the columns?

Kind Regards

Lloyd

themesforge

Hi there Lloyd,

thanks for getting in touch!

You’ll need a little tweak to the single product template as you guessed correctly :)

I think I have a version of it locally – drop me an email and I’ll hook you up!

Hi. Great theme. I’d like to create a larger area for the LOGO. i see that there is css styling for that area and the area to the right with the names one_third two_third , i figured i could just change that to one_half one_half. I did and it got me closer to where I need to be (a larger, wider area for a logo) but the cart dropdown gets obscured when I do this. (i.e. with items in the cart, on hover, the drop down does not show) Any suggestions?

themesforge

Hi there,

thanks for getting in touch!

What you’ve done is what I recommend to people for making the logo bigger.

The challenge is that for responsive themes you need to have some constraints on the logo proportions.

If I were you I would stay with one_half / one_half and reduce the width of the product search box.

e.g. at the end of layout.css

#searchform #s {
width: 120px !important;
}

You might need to tweak the width a bit for your specific implementation.

Hope this helps,

Ed

Hi Ed, thanks for the feedback. After changing to one_half one_half, the issue is not the size of the logo area any more (looks good now), or the constraints of the img (one_half is the constraint), the issue now is the cart drop down. When a user hovers the the cart area in your theme, it used to show the cart, now it looks like it is trying, but the dropdown is getting obscured.

themesforge

Hey,

can you send me a link with an example of the problem in action to ed@themesforge.com

tt1011

try it yourself, visit your demo, change one_third : two_thirds to one_half : one_half. (i did it using the web inspector just now), and you can see what i am saying when you hover over the cart.

themesforge

yip – so this is technically unsupported use of the theme (as I’ve not spent a massive amount of time using the theme in this way myself) but this should solve the issue for you.

.one_half.header-widget {
    overflow: visible;
}

I sent that last comment, “try it yourself”, before seeing your latest response. It answers your question though, so if I don’t see a follow up response here shortly I will assume it was an adequate example of the problem, otherwise I will email you a link. Hope this finds you well, thanks for your ongoing commitment to support the theme.

themesforge

check my other response since your last response for a fix :)

I need a few more TF – Jcarousels on the home page. specifically, I need to have not just Recent and Featured, but 4 more rows of Featured. Where by I can choose the products that show up in each row. Right now if I try to add another TF – Jcarousels in the widget area it simply repeats the products from the row above. Any suggestions?

themesforge

Hi there,

At the moment the only widgets I provide are for Recent and Featured products. You might find some other widgets which let you select which products appear but I don’t currently provide that.

Hi, how do I change the height of the footer? There are too many empty space as my footer is very simple & short. Thanks

Hi there Amiru,

your footer height should automatically reduce when there is not much content within it – if you want you can send me an example to ed@themesforge.com and I’ll take a look.

Hi Ed:

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I can’t seem to find the answer….

Is there a widget that shows up on an individual product page? I can’t find anything to fill up the empty space on the right-hand side of the page, where the primary widget shows up on other pages. Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks!

Kim

themesforge

Hi there Kimharp,

thanks for getting in touch! There is no such thing as a stupid question for my customers :)

On single product pages, the sidebar appears on the right hand side is controlled by the Shop sidebar widget area. I typically add in the WooCommerce product categories widget in there like here:

Thanks for the input Ed. I’d still love to see a separate widget for single product pages—-is that something you might implement in the future?

Hi,

I’m having a problem with updating the homepage slides, if I change an image it doesn’t update. It seems like the images are being cached, I cleared the browser cache and I’m not using any caching plugins. Any idea why?

Thanks

themesforge

Hi there bryanthatcher,

thanks for getting in touch!

that sounds odd. The theme itself doesn’t implement any custom caching so they should be removed upon refreshing – try clear your local browser cache aswell.

If the issue persists send me your details to ed@themesforge.com

Hi there! I was wondering if I can change the black bar with the categories and drop downs to another color other than black.

Hi Ed,

I was wondering if you’ve tested the theme with Yoast SEO? I’m curious about the Yoast Breadcrumb customizing, and also the WooCommerce extension.

Cheers! Jeff

themesforge

Hey Jeff,

Hope all is well :)

Yip lots of testing done with Yoast SEO specifically. My title tag function is specifically the way Joost likes it :)

I’ve not spent a lot of time playing with the Breadcrumb customizing or the WooCommerce extension (which I must do) but if you have any issues do let me know and I’ll address them asap!

One more question for you Ed (sorry!). Is it possible to add some kind of navigation widget in the Homepage Top Right widget areas? When I add things like text or Custom Blog widget, they show up fine in these areas, but when I try to add any navigation, like Dropdown Menu or Layered Nav, they just don’t show up at all. Am I missing something? Thanks!

Kim

themesforge

Hi Kimharp,

They’re just normal widget areas so there should be no reason why they wouldn’t show up. Perhaps you can add one and send me an example to ed@themesforge.com and I’ll take a look.

Hi, how do you remove the admin message on the side of pages?

themesforge

Hi there,

This is either the WooCommerce message which is controlled from within WooCommerce itself. You may also be referring to the WordPress admin bar which appears when you’re logged into WordPress.

hope this helps,

Ed
