It seems all the short code only working in WP post/page, but not working in Woo e-commerce product detail page? is that true?
I tried to add some image and button in the product page without any luck.
Hi there mapperkids,
Hi Ed, the email and link is sent. Thanks!
coming back to my problem with the showcase image section.
ED can you please give a brief summary with files are needed for a propper child theme to work?
as described by mail a simple new folder including the styles.css with the relevant header seems to work in general, but already the folder and the styles.css break the image upload in showcase.
hey there thewrath1,
I got your mail. I’m looking into it for you today and will get back to you.
very kind !!!
one thing why I bought this theme, is that it is my first WP and shop and I was counting on your promis for best support.
awaiting your post a/o mail then
just sent you an email with a fix
did the job
thx a lot and rgds,
AWESOME BUG FIXING RESPONSE TIME !!!
you are most welcome
Hi, new versions have been released, the change log in the download appears to be updated, but the theme style.css still reflects v1 and not v 1.2 (current).
Can you address these issues please.
Thanks for getting in touch!
I just copped what you mean
I’ll update the theme in the next 24 hours and update style.css with the correct version number.
Zoom does not work.
What should I do to activate several images and zoom?
Hi there marcaelinea,
Which zoom plugin are you using?
I have no plugins for this
figured it was part of the theme
what plugin do you recommend?
as I upload several images on the detail page?
The freely available Cloud Zoom plugin is great
It’s what is active on the demo site.
Install and activate it – then disable the core WooCommerce lightbox from WooCommerce->Settings.
ok thank you very much … keep buying for you.
as I upload several images on the detail page?
That plugin is free
Here is an example with multiple images on the details page
What is plugin?
In WordPress, go to Plugins->Add New
in the search box:
search for: “cloud zoom”
first result should be:
WooCommerce Cloud Zoom Image Plugin
Click “Install now”
I installed it.
but, as I upload multiple images for a single product.
sorry .. I have searched and can not find.
what gallery plugin for use in the product detail page?
Have you got WooCommerce installed?
Did you read the manual in the DOCS directory that came with the theme?
There is no gallery plugin used – it is just WooCommerce and the additional plugin which I’ve given you the details of.
ok … thank you very much.
after many tests .. I note that the galleries are uploaded by the link “Featured Images.”
I was going crazy ..
sorry … but did not know.
no problem glad you got it solved in the end.
is there an easy way to have on all blog related pages the sidebar to the left?
Hey there thewarth1,
I don’t think I have added a template with the blog sidebar on the left as of yet – I’ll add it to the theme wishlist
never mind, I am trying to seperate BLOG from SHOP in left/right sidebar logic, as there is pages in blog as in shop as well, plus search for blog part and woo produkt search, plua a seperate shop template with sidebar right … well I rarranged a ot of pages to my needs in custom child theme. bit of swapping sidebar parts in the templates a new widget and template for non shop/blog pages and it workz super !!!
unfortunately the whole localasitaion seems a mess
I am on 3.5.1 de version, plus woo commerce and the woo lang pack in latest version and yoir theme profit in latest version.
I don’t care for backend but frontend is a real mess
have to figure out where what when why and make frontend clean german at least to start.
even wonder wjy woo german includes the terms page tickbox but non for the ‘widerrufsrecht’ another law we are forced to obey and diplay.
great to hear your layout issues got sorted via the child theme. The lang packs always seem to be changing. I hope the theme strings are ok for you. Do let me know if you need anything with those.
Any idea why the menus look different for logged in users vs non logged in users? I setup a menu which occupied only one line in your theme, but when I log out I see more menu items (on the second line).
Hi there PoshTone,
If you’ve added some WooCommerce items to your menu (e.g. My Account etc.) they sometimes add options like Logout to your menu.
This could be it.
Maybe, but that does not seem to be the case. the only items in my menu are woocomerce items, but they are product categories. I need to prevent this from happening.
I did not figure it out, but I did fix it.
Seems the menu system did not like product category “1”, so i deleted that product category and created a new one with the same name.
That’s odd alright PoshTone,
might be worth you reporting that to the WooCommerce team as it doesn’t sound like a theme issue.
We’ve purchased a little while ago this theme (Proffet). And we found some bugs in it, for example we got a woocommerce plugin (WooCommerce Professor Cloud) that isn’t working in this theme, but it is in other themes.
We hope you can fix this bug..
You can contact me on email@example.com for further information like the login and url.
There were some updates made to the theme last week to resolve some issues with thumbnail logic for WooCommerce 2.0.4.
I’ve not used that particular extension but have tested it with the free Cloud Zoom extension and it works ok.
Could you try re-downloading the theme with the recent update and see if that resolves your issue?
If not, please send me your details to firstname.lastname@example.org
I’ve just noticed that there was an update for Proffet on the 22nd March.
Will we not get notified via the WP admin that there is an update?
Also, do you have a changelog for this update?
At the moment theme updates don’t come through automatically via WordPress – this is not without issue with people auto updating and losing custom changes.
You should get an email from themeforest though when updates are uploaded.
There is a changelog in the theme folder itself but I’ll copy it here for clarity
Version 1.3 - 21 March 2013
- Fix for change to WooCommerce thumbnail display
- twitter api ssl change (thanks dgsibert!)
- Enhanced footer call to action logic
There will be another minor update coming within 24 hours (1.4) for tweaks to child theme support just in case you are about to work on updating.
Thanks Ed. Is there any chance you could include what file each of the changes were made to in the changelog please?
I see the WooCommerce shortcode item in the page editor but not the shortcode chooser for the theme itself. How can I access the shortcodes for the theme?
Hi there hyperweb1,
There is no shortcode selector at the moment.
All shortcodes are listed via the theme demo:
Just hover over the shortcodes menu item to see individual shortcode options on individual pages.
I am very very interested in buying your theme. Just had one question.
Is there an option to change the font or does that have to be changed in the css?
Yes Fonts can be changed via the Theme Customizer – you can use any Google Web Font
A good theme starts with great support Thanks I will be purchasing now.
If I wanted to add a image banner above the title ‘All products’ (and just below the nav bar) on the shop page, what files would I need to edit?
The best way to do this would be with a custom hook.
You’ll need to read up on this page:
Alternatively, you could start modifying WooCommerce templates but that’s not advisable for future upgrades etc.
I think the relevant hook you are looking for is:
Hope this helps,
Ok that makes sense to use a custom hook, one thing I don’t get tho, I know you call the function but what page would I put the function call?
the easiest place to add it would be your functions.php file (at the end of the file). Ideally you would do this in a child them for future update compatibility.
I am struggling to find where to edit the little icon next to the ‘homepage welcome message’. Can you point me in the right direction please?
Also, is there any chance you could include which files you have made changes to on the changelog please? I use file comparison software to copy the updated code over from an update and this info would prove invaluable.
Many Thanks Ed for all your help and support over the last few weeks. My site is nearly ready to go live. Once it is i’ll post a link so you can have a look!
The icon is set in markup in:
<i class="icon-bullhorn" />
This is a font awesome icon.
The next version of Proffet (coming tomorrow) will have a full file changelog.
p.s. Looking forward to seeing your site
Hi there, great theme!. i thought i saw on the feature list that there was a demo content xml file available, where is it located in the zip file?
Hi there erikmanley79,
Thanks for your purchase! Shoot me an email to email@example.com and I’ll send you the demo xml asap.
sorry to bother again, but this time I think I found a real bug in JS behavior.
still wp / woocommerce /proffet theme all in latest version.
you can reproduce it as follows:
- created a standard page with woocommerce template
- made it shop startpage in woocommerce
- created 2 products of same kategorie
- frontend went to shop and clicked on one of the 2 products just created
- the products single/detail page shows up as awaited
- beneath there shows the “other product of the 2 created” as related product
so fae so good!
but when just hovering with the mouse the related product it starts to change size and get smalle and smaller until it is kind of widget sidebar list size … ???
hope ya understand what I mean if not I can make screenshots or a short 10secs ,move to show ya the behavior.
and one more thing.
the deals widget fullwith on homepage bottom, how can I influence the sorting of the shown products in the carousel?
That sounds odd alright! If you could send me a demo of the issue that would be great and I’ll take a look.
I found another issue with image resize of the thumbs in blog.
I goz your email, so i will record a little screen recording mov to show you what I mean exactly.
still a great theme !!!
I’ll take a look when u send it on.
just found out it happens only in safari firefox plays well.
if ya have the chance to take a look at the demo in safari, go to
the demo shop here at TF and choose any single product page. hover over the related items and thex will sizedone all parallel.
I wish to buy this template as it matches my needs closely.. Thank you for creating it
I was testing one of the key features on my Ipad and it seems it is not working:
“Touch enhanced nanoscroller to touch scroll through your latest products on the homepage.”
The slider at the top is working with touch scroll, the “hot products” and “recent products” can’t be controlled with touch scroll. Only with the arrows..
Is there a quick way to fix this?
Thank you very much!
Hi there BenWorkx,
They are touch enabled at present – you need to touch them just at the sides of the images – the arrows supercede the general touch area – this will be enhanced in a future version for sure.
Hi Ed, I went along and bought the theme..
I would like to try and add the enhancement myself.. Any suggestions?
Hi there Ben,
Apologies for the delayed response – there is a theme update coming later today which has improved touch support on the carousels – you should see it in action now on the demo site – http://proffetdemo.themesforge.com/
I sent you an email, at firstname.lastname@example.org, just wanted to make sure you got it.
I had some questions about the theme, thanks.
got your emails thanks
I’ll be in touch within 24 hours.
pre sales question
does this support lightbox / pretty photo popup images within the blog etc ?
thanks so much
Hi there markpr17,
WooCommerce has lightbox/pretty photo popups included by default.
For general page use, I recommend using one of the many lightbox/pretty photos plugins which exist such as:
Now i have added a slider to the site, but the deals dosent shown up?
I have uploaded the deals and added them to the area.
But i cant see them?
Can i remove the small text boxes over the slider?
You need to add the deals widgets in addition to adding the deal posts. Take a look at the docs for a detailed explanation.
Now i got it!
But how can i remove these text boxes over the picture/slider?
I Just want the pictures to show!
It worked, but it removed at the deals and not the slider.
How can i reverse that?
I want it to remove just on the slider.
Oh, and whats the dimension of the picture for a wide slider? In the docs it just for the small one.
at least 930px wide
and ideally 930px * 347px
Ok! Did you find out how i remove it on the slider? Because it just worked on the deals.
that code is just for the deals
that should do it!
Thanks! That worked!
Do you also know how i can add a link in the picture?
That when i click it, it goes to the a site?
I removed the sidebar.php file to test something.
But when i add the file again the sidebar will not show up again.
Can you help me with that?
make sure you delete any cached data you may have.
how can i order the “HOT PRODUCTS” on the themes homepage e.g. by price-desc?
You would need to modify the widget directly to do this.
code is in:
$query_args = array('posts_per_page' => $number, 'no_found_rows' => 1, 'post_status' => 'publish', 'post_type' => 'product', 'meta_key' => '_featured', 'meta_value' => 'yes');
You would need to add a sorting/order by argument to this query.
“Order & Orderby Parameters”
But if you want to sort by price desc you would need to write a custom loop to include price.
thy ed that helps a lot.
sorry for the questions, as written I am a first time WP user and find it s.t. hard to find my way though this jungle mixture of html and php
I came around further a bit .. but now I have the problem that I cannot copy and alter the file to my child theme. nor into child_theme_folder/ directly, not in child_theme_folder/functions/global/widgets.
it works in childtheme with all files from proffet/ even proffet/wocommerce/ files can be placed directly into the child theme.
the tf-featured-products-jcarousel-icaro.php doesn’t respond when in child theme no matter where I put it
Widgets are a bit trickier to manage via child themes as they’re more complex functions. In your child theme, remember your functions.php is loaded first, then the parent functions.php.
My advice is to create a copy of the widget in your child theme and create an explicit reference to it in your child functions.php
Then ensure you change the name of the widget in line 38 of:
$this->woo_widget_name = __(‘TF – JCarousel Recent Products’, ‘tfbasedetails’);
and then make sure you use this copy of the widget in Appearance->Widgets.
Use, by you or one client, in a single end product which end users are not charged for. The total price includes the item price and a buyer fee.
