Hi Kriesi!

Just purchased your theme and it’s amazing! I do have some questions for you though…

1. Can I swap out the banner element you are using on the main page – the one that is a rectangle with an inverted point? You are using it as a content divider/header. I want to simply make it fully rectangular without the inverted point. Is that possible? If so, can you point me in the right direction on where to change that?

2. On the same subject/item, can I change the titles of “Latest Portfolio Entries” and “Latest Products”? If so, where do I need to change that at? I would prefer to change to “Featured Businesses” and “Current Offerings.” Any chance you can help?

Thank you so much for your help and congrats on this wonderful theme – it’s fantastic!

Hey! of course, thats both possible.

1.) add this to your custom.css stylesheet in folder /css/ or to the quick-css panel located in your wordpress backend at theme options ->styling:
#top .flag-diamond, #top .mini-seperator{display:none;}

2.) this is defined in the template builder. Open the template builder in your backend and select the dynamic template you have chosen to use. (guess its the default frontpage template) – Now edit the horizontal ruler elements

You are awesome! Thank you for the pointers. I will let you know if I have any other questions.

Thank you again!

Wonderful theme! Business, e-commerce, portfolio, blog, AND bbpress in one, wow!

I just was waiting for a real bbpress theme from your site.

I am undecided what to do. I would need a news theme, like newscast (but it’s to old), therefore I would go with the shoutbox theme, but there I would be missing the bbpress forum especially the topics like you have very nicley implemented on your support site. What I would need is 1) a news theme WITH a forum/topic on the same home/landing page. Any chances to get this together in ONE big framework theme in the near (1month or so) future?

I just love the clarity of your work, therefore I would like to go with you in the future.

My questions specific to the propulsion theme: 1) possible to have the forum/topics on the front/home page? (The bbpress forum/topics is soo striking!) 2) possible to have the blog above on the front page (probably yes) 3) possible to have the blog search like you have done with the themes showcase on your page horizontally above? 4) possible that the forum/members account creation can be handled like in woocommerce, on a standalone base, w/o interaction with the wordpress backend? I don’t want to have forum memeber on my back-end. And to have the profile data with a plugin like gravityform with a direct connection to a direct connection to a newsletter database like mailchimp/aweber?

Your ideas are very good, I just need all this very good ideas details in one super theme! ;-) Would pay even more for an exentend license on a yearly base. It’s much easier than every time to make the adaptions to a new theme.

Luigi

p.s. In case there will come out a new news/magazine theme, here would be a very clear composition (I haven’t found such a clear news theme here in themeforest) www.wealthbriefing.com (just for input ;-)

Kriesi

Hey! For now I probably wont create a theme that has it all. I already feel that propulsion is at the limit of features the average user can easily grasp so adding even more stuff is probably overkill :)

1.) You can plase widets with latest topics etc on the frontpage but the forum itself cant be placed on the frontpage

2.) yes

3.) pleas clarif, not sure what you mean :)

4.) yes, I think there are already several bbpress plugins available that can handle that ;)

Yesterday, they deleted my reply, no idea why.

3) Question: “possible to have the blog search like you have done with the themes showcase on your page horizontally above?”

Kriesi

wäre möglich, würde allerdings etwas arbeit eines entwicklers verlangen. geht also nicht out-of-the-box :)

Hi,

I’d love to know if there is an easy way to remove the shopping cart fuction to make it a catalogue only (removing all the add to cart, view cart, check out page etc…)

Kriesi

in that case i would recommend to only use the porfolio section instead of the ecommerce section. but it would also be able to remove the cart etc menus and buttons, yes.

Hi Kriesi,

Very nice theme indeed. Is it possible to run it multi-language [not using any auto translator]? Please let me know, best wishes,

aat

Kriesi

The theme comes with a mo and po file, and so does the shop plugin so yes, it can be run in multilingual mode. But you need translate the language file yourself of course :)

hmmm… too bad :P thanx man for your early reply this is all I needed to know am making preps to start buying your template thanx again! aat

Perfection! This is at the top of my wish list.

Kriesi

Thanks a lot, glad you likt the theme :)

Yo! I’m creating a child theme so you’re updates don’t wreck what I have. Anything specific that needs to go in functions.php? Call to queue css or any?

Kriesi

Since the functions.php of a childtheme is laoded in addition to the original one you shouldnt need to load anything in addition to make the theme work :)

If I can just take a moment. I just purchased this theme (literally a few moments ago!)

I would like to personally thank you for A creating a quite truthfully beautiful WordPress theme and B you have quite literally saved my blog from going stale.

Your theme and the amount of work you have put in is phenomenal, I know a lot of people post comments about it would be nice to have this added nice to have that or just ‘this doesn’t work etc,etc.

You rarely see a comment giving praise these days, but I have to say credit where credit is due dude.

AWESOME work just simply AWESOME .

Oh yes and thanks!

Kriesi

Thanks a lot for your comment, really appreciate the kind words :)

Are there any options for change of font use in the system?

Kriesi

yes, the theme comes with a option for various different heading fonts (50+) you can choose from :)

Hey Kriesi!

Any recommendations on how I can get my portfolio to be filtered by alphabetical order?

McLean

Kriesi

a little tricky but possible:

open template.portfolio.php:

change line 16 to read:

$avia_config['new_query'] = array("paged" => get_query_var( 'paged' ),  "posts_per_page" => $avia_config['portfolio_item_count'],  "post_type"=>"portfolio", 'orderby' => 'title', 'order' => 'ASC');

then open includes/helper-templates.php

and change the query at line 1060 to
$avia_config['new_query'] = array('orderby' => 'title', 'order' => 'ASC', "paged" => get_query_var( 'paged' ), "posts_per_page" => $portfolio['portfolio_item_count'],  'tax_query' => array( array( 'taxonomy' => 'portfolio_entries', 'field' => 'id', 'terms' => $terms, 'operator' => 'IN')));

If you need the alphabetical sorting for dynamic templates as well change line 569-581 to read:

if(empty($portfolio_cats_dynamic) || $portfolio_cats_dynamic == 'null')
        {
            $avia_config['new_query'] = array('orderby' => 'title', 'order' => 'ASC',"paged" => get_query_var( 'paged' ),  "posts_per_page" => $avia_config['portfolio_item_count'],  "post_type"=>"portfolio");
        }
        else
        {
            $avia_config['new_query'] = array(    'orderby' => 'title', 'order' => 'ASC',
                                                "paged" => get_query_var( 'paged' ),
                                                "posts_per_page" => $avia_config['portfolio_item_count'],
                                                'tax_query' => array( array( 'taxonomy' => 'portfolio_entries',
                                                                             'field' => 'id',
                                                                             'terms' => explode(',', $portfolio_cats_dynamic) , 'operator' => 'IN'))
                                                );
        }

You are simply a genius! I have most of the template setup for what we need but may still have some questions – I’m just now playing around with the woocommerce plugin.

On a side note, my company (high-potential startup) is looking for some custom development and am interested in speaking with you about acquiring your services? Do you have an email address we may be able to communicate through, privately?

Thanks again for all your help – it’s much appreciated!

Best,

McLean

Kriesi

you can use office [at] kriesi [dot] at, but unfortunately I have a lot to do with themeforest so its highly unlikely that I will find the time for other projects :/

Jigoshop version anytime soon?

Kriesi

not planned, sorry

Is there any way to remove the info panel from the blog? I added a picture of the area i am speaking of.

to expand on the above post, i woudl liek to remove that and make it the entire width of the blog area or at the very least make the title expand over both areas. I feel that without that its somewhat hard to follow.

another alternative would be for that area to appear like it does once its shrunk down, in between. This is literally the only thing i need before i purchase this theme. the reviews sound great the support seems top notch. So i am ready to buy this i just need to know that this is possible so i can add it to the arsenal.

Thank You!

Kriesi

None of that is possible out of the box but with a few very small changes in the css files it shouldn’t be a problem at all to either remove the area completely or let the text stretch accross the full width. If you need help with that after your purchase feel free to use my support forums at http://www.kriesi.at/support and we will walk you through ;)

Cheers

Hi Christian, First of all, this theme is a beast! You amaze with quality again :) I have 1 question. You described that this theme is suited for users who want to create a business, portfolio or eCommerce site. My question is, can I make blog on top of it and would it be a good idea? Also, good luck with sales!

Kriesi

Yes of course. you dont need to use the plugins, so there is no php/js/css overhead, and its perfectly possible to use the front page as a blog :)

Hi Kriesi,

Thank you for an amazing theme! This was first theme I bought from you and you instantly became my favorite theme developer ;) Simply best WordPress theme I’ve come a cross. Very easy to set up out of the box and I was happily surprised how easy to manage the WooCommerce shop is. Good choice.

One minor issue though, for some reason all Scandinavian (ä, ö, å) and some other special characters are messed up in featured slider: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7025/6562981129_c661915fb8_b.jpg

Any plans to add breadcrumb option into the theme? Sure, I can use some 3rd party plug-in (as I do currently) but would be nice to have it out of the box ;) That’s only thing I’ve had to edit in PHP files this far.

Anyway, help with the featured slider issue would be highly appreciated.

Thanks again!

Cheers from Finland, Sami

P.S. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2012!!! Looking forward to see more great themes from you ;)

Hi Again Kriesi,

Nevermind about the inconsistent image re-sizing, I found solution from your support site ;)

Also quick fix for the featured slider Scandinavian character issue is to use appropriate html tags (e.g. ä and ö)

Still one issue though :D When using featured caption, the caption takes all real-estate from the featured slider and the featured image won’t get any attention. Would there be a way to make the caption frame less-wide in mobile? And maybe also increase opacity for the frame background? (even with frame the caption text might blend too much with the featured image)

Thanks :)

Kriesi

Hey!

In layout.css line 1991 you can find this code:

#top div .slideshow_caption {
width: 100%;
background: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5);
}

if you remove the background there will be no frame at all for mobile devices if you choose a non-framed caption. or in case you just want to change the opacity simply change the 0.5 into something like 0.2 for a lighter background

Hi Kriesi,

Thanks for your reply.

Actually I wanted to change the background darker and split the frame to take about 50% instead of 100% in mobile devices. I managed to do that by media queries in custom.css and changing properties for the following rule:
#top div .slideshow_caption {width: 50%; background: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.8); }

I’m doing quite a lot customization with CSS so I might have new headaches soon :D

Best, Sami

Just great!!! an amazing journey for unexperienced “webdesigners”. My bussines started with Amplify and now after 3 years i´m growing to this theme… even if i make lots of money out of it, (wich i definetly expect)...will not contract anybody to do my web designing… i like the way you make it easy to…

Thanks for making my bussiness part of life easier…

Merry Christmas to you and your team from Spain!!!

Kriesi

Merry Christmas and thanks for the kinds words!

Is There a good way to merge colomns in the footer. Instead of having 4 fourths, I’d like to have a half and 2 fourths.

Thanks

Kriesi

set the column count for your footer to 3 in your wordpress backend, than add the following to your custom.css file, located in folder propulsion/css:

#footer .one_third{
width: 22%;
}

#footer .one_third.first{
width: 48%;
}

Perfect! Thank you!

hello, beautiful theme.

I’m having a problem with the theme settings conflicting with wordpress settings for the static page. I want the “home” page of my site to be a static page that i have created and I want the blog page where posts go to be a separate static page accessible through the nav. It seems the settings in WP Reading and the settings in the theme conflict.

If I set the theme home page to the page I have titled “Home” and the theme blog page set to the blog page I have created AND leave the WP Reading Settings for home page to “posts” then the home page shows up correctly but the blog page says “no products found.”

If I set the theme settings the same as the above but also set the WP Reading settings to the appropriate static pages then the home page shows the blog posts and the blog page shows the blog posts.

I cannot seem to get the home page to show my home page and my blog page to show the blog posts. What am I doing wrong?

Also, is there a way to remove the page heading/title on individual pages? For example, the home page I want to use is called Home but I do not want the word “Home” in large font appearing on the home page. I would only want this on the blog page or shop pages to display the blog title or product category or something like that.

Thanks!

Kriesi

Hey!

If you set the theme home page to the page you have titled “Home” and the theme blog page set to the blog page you have created AND leave the WP Reading Settings for home page to “posts” then the home page as well as the blog page should show up correctly BUT please make sure that the woocommerce plugin pages are configured correctly. (Woocommerce->settings->pages)

The error you are encountering could happen because no shop page was choosen.

2.) if you want a out of box solution for this I would recommend to build a custom template with the template builder and apply it to pages which should look different from the default layout
