Hi Tauris,
I’m Still A Noobie In Editing HTML , I’ve Found Purity Template Is The Best So Far, Unfortunately, I’m Confusing In Editing The Image In Recent Works Which Is Using timthumb.php , I Don’t Know How To Configure It Or Change It To The Image That I Want.. Can Give Me A Guide, Coz I’m Still Noobie, I’m Confusing With The Explanation.
Cna Help Me on This,
Thanks and Regards,
Sky:confusedsad:
Hello there,
Thank you for your warm words. Could you please tell me if you added the timthumb script by yourself? Because it isn’t included with the template by default. I use it only on the preview version. Second request: could you please write from an account you bought the template on?
Regards,
Filip
I really like your theme, but I too am having problems with this Quicksand filter. I know its not your code, but I really can’t see how you customise it to your own filter names.
If I change<li><a href="" title="Architecture">Architecture</a></li>under ul class=”filter” and
<li class="architecture" data-id="id-1"> --- content --- </li>under ul class=”portfolio”to say…
<li><a href="" title="Documentary">Documentary</a></li>and…
<li class="Documentary" data-id="id-1"> --- content --- </li>...it completely stops working. I don’t understand how you get your filters to work for “Architecture”, “New Look”, “Photo View” etc. and I can’t get it to work with my custom categories. The quicksand docs are not much help either… I can’t figure it out… help!!
Hello Torture,
Thanks for your kind words.
You can find a solution to your problem in.. the documentation. Let me quote a line from it:
So in your case, the portfolio list item would have a class of ‘documentary’.
Regards,
Filip
Thanks Taurus, I got it working finally! It’s very sensitive though. Seems like you can’t use anything other than one single space in filter names.
For example, if I want to use “Documentary and News” it won’t work (2 spaces). I can only use “Documentary News” (1 space) and it will work.
Hi Filip,
I know you asked me to keep you up to speed with how my site was coming on. Well its basically finished now just a few minor updates needed.
Feel free to have a look and let me know what you think.
http://www.jmaxphotography.com/Thanks once again for a great template, keep up the excellent work and you’ll definitely be the first person I contact if I’m in need of another template.
Many thanks, John
Hello again John,
Great job with the website! Your photos are beatiful and professional what makes the whole site look so aswell. I wish you good luck with your agency.
All the best,
Filip
Official WordPress version release date: 1 October.
Very Excited!
Thanks.
So I am a developer working with another designer. The client wanted the site built in WordPress. I sent the designer here to choose the theme. She chose Purity – not realizing it was NOT WordPress. Any chance that Oct. 1 date can be sooner? I have to complete the site by 10/10? Any news would be GREAT !
Hello there,
I’m sorry but it’s not possible. I’m spending on it as much free time as I got (which I don’t have that much because of studies) and my main goal is to release the theme on this weekend.
All the best,
Filip
Thanks. Just thought I would ask. You can rest assured I most likely will be the first to purchase! Can’t wait.
Thank you!
Filip
I’m sorry to say that but the release date of the WordPress version is delayed until next weekend (8th of October). With a very limited time I posses I just won’t be able to finish the job this Saturday or Sunday.
The theme itself may be ready but I need another few days to write up a good documentation, record a screencast and test it’s functionality so I’m sure that I release a product that is high quality.
Regards,
Filip
Hi there,
I purchased your Purity template yesterday thinking it was a Wordpress theme – alas, after several hours trying to install it I read Reggiescott’s comment above and worked out where my mistake lay! Any chance of ‘exchanging’ this version for the Wordpress theme when it comes out?! If not, do you know how much you’ll be charging?
Thanks!
David
Hello there,
I’m really sorry for that. I’m not sure if there is any chance for a refund in a situation like that but you may always try to write a support ticket.
The WordPress version is going to cost 30$ or 35$.
All the best,
Filip
Hi, Just before purchasing I would like to know if the portfolio supports video? I would like either embed video or link to a video hosting site. Many thanks!
Miiagod
Hello there,
Thank you for your interest! If you mean the portfolio post page (portfolio_item.html) then yes. Since it’s a HTML template so you aren’t limited with a code, you can place there an image, a lightbox gallery, a flash animation or embed a video from any site.
Regards,
Filip
I will be downloading the static template since the release of the WP version has been delayed. No worries. I would sooner wait for a superior product than be rushed and have problems. I just need to get something so my client can begin to review. Keep working hard Tauris!
Thank you for understanding.
Regards, Filip
My client’s new portfolio page seems to be having some very odd issues I can’t wrap my head around.
For some reason, the item name & description fade in addition to the photo on mouse over.
The other issue is that for some reason, the first lightbox photo appears twice … and when clicking it … it goes backwards to the last hidden lightbox image and then cycles through as normal. Very strange to say the least.
Here is my code:
The tags are for dynamic content found within a web app in the particular CMS I am using for this project.
Thanks for any help you can give.
p.s. – sometimes it cycles through the lightbox images in reverse too.
Hello there,
There is a little mess in the code.
First of all, change the lines between
http://pastie.org/2612739 (can’t paste it here, weird)<div id="main" />and<h1>Portfolio - View Our Work</h1>to:And to avoid a duplicated first image of the lightbox, use this portfolio list item code as an example:
http://pastie.org/2612748Regards,
Filip
Thank you, Filip.
I really appreciate the fast reply! Your suggestions took care of everything except the text fading on mouse over with the image.
If you have any other suggestions, that would be awesome. Otherwise, I might move the info out of the “over” div so that it appears beneath the image instead of upon mouse over.
The link is the same as above. BTW – great template.
Matt
One other thing: The Facebook Like button doesn’t work for my portfolio lightbox items. Tweet This works fine though. Any ideas?
Here is the page.
Hello there,
I’ll answer both of your posts here.
1. I can see a div with a class of ‘content’ between the div ‘inner’ and div ‘tagline’. Remove it.
2. The button itself works (just ‘liked’ a link) but I’m guessing that what you mean is the number of ‘likes’ being partially hidden. Open the /css/scripts/prettyPhoto.css file and find ’.pp_social .facebook’. Increase it’s width value.
Regards,
Filip
Hi Filip,
Hope your keeping well. i was just wondering is there anyway to turn off the right click when someone is viewing this site to stop them saving images etc?
many thanks, John
Hello again John,
I’m fine, thank you.
I’m sorry but the days has come when it’s REALLY hard to protect your images on a website even by using some truly advanced image display scripts (javascript etc). A person who has an access to tools like Firebug can easily get an address of any image on the website.
However, you can block the ‘rightclick’ action with some simple javascript. It should stop less advanced users from copying your work. An example script can be found here: Link.
All the best,
Filip
Thanks for the great template.
I found the code very easy to customize due to your clear comments and annotations.
Everything works great!
Hello there,
Thanks for your kind words, I appreciate it.
Filip
Hey Tauris, Once again great work. There is one area that I am having difficulty with.
It seems to work fine on the live preview here. I downloaded your recent version and tried it locally with no modifications in the same browser.
So when I click through the filtered list and go back to “all categories” it seems to shuffle it.
Here is the example on my website….
http://www.photoflipart.com/test1Hello there,
It’s definitely one of the weirdest things I’ve ever come with. After a while of searching for a source of this problem I found out that the only element shuffled is the first list item and it’s caused by a single space ’ ’ after the div with a class ‘gallery clearfix’ in the first list item of the portfolio Unordered List. Removing all the spaces after this element fixes the problem..
Here is the element I mention: http://pastie.org/2657491
Thanks for letting me know!
Regards,
Filip
Really good Work,
I have one problem. when I chose dark skin it doesn’t change. you can see it in www.tujuru.com
thank you.
Xavi
Hello there,
Even though it’s the WordPress version related, I’ll give you a quick answer here. It’s my mistake in naming the files, will fix that in a nearest update. But for now, you may just rename the /css/skins/dark.css to /css/skins/Dark.css (notice the capital letter).
Best Regards,
Filip
Really great work on this template! Apart from a few issues with the Quicksand filter, its been a real joy to set up.
Thought you might like to see your template running on ExpressionEngine: http://nickfoxall.com

Hello Nick!
Thank you for your warm words, I’m glad that you are happy with the purchase.
It’s also a great honor that my template is used by such a talented artist as you. Your portfolio is truly impressive!
I wish you good luck and all the best!
Filip
I absolutely love this template. Easy and fun to setup. Minimalistic with character – exactly what we were looking for.
Thanks so much for making this!

Hello Zack,
Thank you for kind words, I truly appreciate it!
All the best,
Filip
I have images with an aspect ratio ~ 1.5. Can the template be modified to handle images this tall (width would be the same as default width)?
Replied your e-mail.

Filip
