hey there , Where can I find the custom fields for the descriptions for the portfolio section.
Hi,
please make sure you have the custom fields enabled from the “Screen Options” (top-right of the QualiFire Options page). Then you need to manually enter the required custom fields ONLY the first time you’re going to be using them, then WordPress will remember them. I am thinking of purchasing your theme. I have one question if you would not mind… On the portfolio section, is there a way to open the page when the image is clicked instead of opening the image the same way when you click the title? Thank you

I’m not sure I quite understand your question, by default the titles will take you to the Post behind that Portfolio item, but if you click the thumb it will open the preview image with prettyPhoto lightbox.

Sorry for any confusion. To clarify, Instead of opening the image with lightbox I need it to take me to the post the same way the title does. Can I do this?
I don’t think QualiFire offers that, but two of my newer themes PureVISION and uDesign do have that.

Does your them use gzip compression. I tested my sites compression before adding zlib Compression and found that it was already running gzip. http://newjerseyesq.com

Great theme but I need support / documentation on setting up a child theme for Qualifire. Better sitll, do you have a sample child theme that can be downloaded for the theme.
I really don’t want to make my life difficult in future when an update is publised, where any changes to the original files would be overwritten.
I also can’t seem to find a support forum for Qualifire. Is this it or do you have a forum where support queries and answers are categorised?

please be advised that this is a left-to-right theme, it looks like you’ve already tried converting it to be right-to-left. By default the search box works fine, so it must be some CSS you’ve changed that’s messing the Searchbox. Regarding the menu, it’s split in two, you have the left part where all the menu items are and then you have the right part with the “Login” and RSS links.

No, I haven’t change anything, I think because I’m using Arabic version of WP, and automatically my themes converted from right-to-left. So is there anyway to fix this? I just bought it today and I thought it will work fine with me as most of themes that I have tried already which is support RTL . Also I want to change Login and RSS to be in the right, and menu to left is this possible to do? when I read the update of this version about the translation things i thought it will support RTL (right to left ) please help me I really do like your Theme

you can’t change the top area height easily, for something like that you would need to redesign all the images in theme’s top area, menu and header/slider area. I absolutely love your theme great job. I have a couple of problems that i cant seem to figure out even after consulting the documentation. I have activated Cycle 1 but it doesn’t seem to cycle through the images, i have set 2 images and it seems to be the first image that is displayed with the play and pause button underneath,, but nothing seems to happen. Second how do I go about setting up a video portfolio just like the one you created on the demo site? I have tried to apply the same principle with creating a normal portfolio but just embed the video into the post, but that also doesn’t seem to work. Any suggestions?

sometimes it’s difference in the datbase collation/encoding that’s messing things up. There are also plugins that you can use to migrate your site and they’ll take care of everything for you.
Here, I’ll give you some guidelines that have always worked for me.

Otherwise if you need to migrate your WordPress site to a totally different server with different URL , these are the steps I would recommend, and by all means feel free to explore other methods to clone or migrate your WP site.
SOURCE SITE : You need a MySQL dump of the source database and a copy of the entire WordPress directory (recursively).
TARGET SITE :Create a new MySQL database and import the source MySQL dump file in it. If you have different database name, username and password from the original, then make sure you update the wp-config.php with the new DB login info.
Then paste the WP source directory with all the files in it to the new server (anywhere you want it). Then use one of the following three methods to adjust the site’s URL ’s in the database:

Then login into the admin area of the new site and use one the following plugins to change all references of the old site URL with the new one: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/velvet-blues-update-urls/screenshots/

First of all thanks for the detailed explanation!! The way I performed a website migration was by editing the database file with a text editor and “Find and Replace” al the old URL ’s by the new ones. After this I imported the customised database in phpMyAdmin. This works fine, exept for the following points:Regards
you should never edit serialized database data in a text editor like that. Serialization relies on length of data being recorded (that is what that additional markup is). When you replace URL inside of serialized string by one of (most likely) different length you are changing the actual length of data and it no longer matches the recorded length of data. Under those conditions serialized string is effectively broken and cannot be unserialized.
If you use one of the tools I gave you above to Search and Replace the URL ’s, the serialized data will be edited properly, I would recommend you use:http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/velvet-blues-update-urls/screenshots/

No, those are “Home Page…” widget areas, widget areas are like sidebars, they are built into the site or whatever page template.
