Hi,
bought your theme and do really like it and thinking about migrating our website to it. I am just wondering how the one page layout works in terms of SEO . How does google see this site – as one page or just like every other ordinary website? Also, individual pages which are already showing up in search results – when a user clicks on those urls does he end up on the “one page layout” or on the individual page?

This theme was coded with SEO as a priority. Since all the links are changed through JavaScript, Google can still see and index all your pages.
If users come in through a separate page, the menu is automatically altered to direct them to the area on the main page when clicked.
Additionally, we added the ability to slide to a specific section on page load and load pages through AJAX using a URL string. This is both for SEO purposes and sharing (social media).
many thanks for the quick response – one last questions regarding the menu – when I choose the “fade in” option, the menu does not show when a user comes directly to a separate page – have I overseen something or would it be best to choose the “fixed” menu option in this case?

Does the 1.5 update enable the parallax effect via fixed page backgrounds on iOS devices?
Please let me know? If not, do have suggestions for enabling this…as a lib such as stellar.js, aspects of that lib, or anything else…?

ciOS natively doesn’t support fixed elements very well. Background images for fixed elements are changed to ‘no-repeat.’ We’ve used media queries to change this back to the ‘cover’ option, but this doesn’t add parallax for iOS devices.
I would generally recommend against trying to add a parallax effect to any iOS devices. It’s just asking for trouble.
If you really wanted to try though, you could use stellar.js, parallaxSwipe, or look into a solution created by Aerian for a site they made (One Potato). I believe they’ve made their plugin open source. Just a heads up, any of these methods will still require you to initialize and configure through Javascript.

I seem to be having an issue with the menus working in Chrome – clicking but the site doesn’t auto scroll, this was working till I updated to the latest WordPress.

Please make sure you’re updated to the latest verison of QuickStep. Newer versions of WordPress use newer versions of jQuery and require an updated script.

Hi Damian,
It is possible to create custom menus. You can also easily separate pages from the main one page layout if you’d like using custom menus.

Of course not. You can create as many pages as you like. There are some templates included for certain page types but you can create as many as you like. Every page also has its own styling options and you can choose exactly what is displayed through shortcodes.

Of course! You can add any images or text to the home page. You can also select from over 500 different fonts. The backend has a lot of customization options.

I know exactly which area you’re referring to. Yes, this is easily do-able. You can drag and drop the background images and choose it’s settings when editing a page.

Responsive menu question… When the menu is active on my iPhone I can not see the entire navigation. If I try to scroll to the bottom of the navigation it scrolls the page content not the menu. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

There is a parallax effect already in place for the background image as seen on the demo and it can be set to scroll with the page or fixed. Every page can have its own background with unique options.
If you’re talking about adding multiple layers on top of that, than that’s a different story. Currently you can add images directly on top, but not many layers with different scrolling speeds for every page.

This is not something I plan on adding in simply because there isn’t enough demand for it and it would be more resource intensive for those who don’t want to use it.
However, there are some jQuery plugins that will do a majority of the work. I see that you’ve purchased the theme. If you’re interested in adding this, feel free to open a support ticket at our forum and I’ll offer some guidance on how to implement something like this.
