Strange, I don’t know why I don’t see the “Purchased” banner by my username, but I bought this theme and I love it!
It’s fast-loading and easily customizable, and support is great when you need it. (I have only had a few questions on a couple of things.)
I first took notice of Mike when I saw a complimentary tweet about him from Jason Schuller of Press75. I’m glad I followed the link and discovered this theme.

I have a quick question before I finally buy – I am intending to use the theme for a photography portfolio, however most of my images are in 5:4 ratio and all your portfolio folio thumbnails and slider images seem to be in something more like 16:9; is it possible to change this so the images will not need cropping to this letterbox shape?
Related to this is that sometimes the images might be a mix of vertical (portrait) and horizontal in the same project, can the slider cope with this?
I am sorry if this has been asked before.
Hi, The slider will handle both of them, but portrait will take up much more space vertically. The slide works by making the image full-width in the browser. So a full-width portrait image would be taller, pushing the content down. But yes, the theme should handle both with no problems.

3 questions before purchasing:
1.) Does this theme support Youtube video for embedding? 2.) How do you handle/display social media sharing of the videos & content? 3.) Can the lower content section of the home page just display only the thumbnails, rather than the latest work & recent posts? Ideally I would just like to have it only display 5 columns of thumbnails. Is that possible?

Hi, It does support YouTube videos. There are a few sharing links on the blog posts. If you want to customize the theme to do only thumbnails on the bottom, you’ll have to know a little code. It shouldn’t be too hard to work out, but we don’t provide customizations for the themes.

Great theme – I like it a lot.
I’m wanting to customize the template that creates the Slideshow on the homepage. Where is the template for this? Wanting to remove the ALT and Title tags from the images.

Hi, The slideshow code is in home.php, but I don’t think you’ll be able to just delete the alt and title tags like that. The slideshow is dynamically created, and the images are wrapped in the code that WordPress outputs.
You could change it, but you’ll likely have to find a filter function to do it!

Hey Mike, I’m considering this theme for a client. I had a couple of pre-sale questions:
1) The sliders can autoplay? – I believe yes, I saw this in another comment. 2) What transition types can I configure for the slides? My client’s line of work is in videos, big pretty photos and all that, so they’d like transitions that look more like this : http://designerthemes.com/preview/?theme=adapt Is it possible?
Hi there, Yep, sliders can auto play. This has been brought up in the forum several times, so head over there for the solution after you’ve purchased!
Unfortunately the slider won’t accomodate those kinds of transitions. It just ships with the fade, but some users may have modified it to a slide.

I’m looking at your theme for a client. I like how this person (http://tao.kalpanashah.net/) used the portfolio and then displayed a bunch of thumbnails for a gallery below it. Do you know how this gallery was added? Also, Can the page for the portfolio item be full width instead of with the sidebar to the right?

I am the one who has worked on the Tao Art Gallery website. Do you want a separate set of images for the top slider that do not appear in the gallery? The author had quoted separately for this bit of customization (and duplication of portfolio), but the cost was quite prohibitive considering I had promised an affordable template-based solution to my client.
Also, duplicating the portfolio page (like I have archives, artist and exhibition) needs some basic knowledge of code.
I would recommend you get a complete quote for customization before buying the theme, so there are no rude shocks later.
I finally spent a couple of days on Google learning java and PHP , and fixed it myself
And no, I did not find any options for a full width portfolio page. That will need custom coding as well.

How can I have the Text band not appear on the homepage slider? I have a couple of slider posts where it doesn’t appear and then others where it does, but not sure how to remove them.
Hi, This is from the help file:
To hide the title of the slide on the homepage (as I did on some of the demo slides), you need to utilize the Custom Fields box. If you don’t see the Custom Fields box, look up towards the top of your screen and click the Screen Options drop down. Make sure Custom Fields is checked. Add a Name of hidetitle and a Value of 1.

Your theme is great! But i ha ve a problem… my contact page is fullwidth, inside i put the google map, but it dosen’t work!!
It’s a simple google map iframe, i use this code in other template and i never find problem… but with your theme the map don’t work. Can you help me?

Beautiful theme here. About to purchase but was wondering if it supports audio as I haven’t seen any on the demo. Would I be able to embed soundcloud widgets into posts and pages?
Also, as well as having pictures/videos at the top of blog posts/pages would I be able to have them within the content with the text wrapped around?

Hi Billy, You could definitely add your soundcloud embeds. You’d just have to paste them into the post, maybe into the HTML view depending on what kind of code they give you.
You can also insert images into the posts and pages, wrapped with text. You’d just use the Insert Image and align them accordingly.

Fancybox is capable of it, but you’ll likely have to modify a bit of the code (maybe a little JS) to implement it. You can check out their docs on it here: http://fancybox.net/howto
