The tags just seem to take up an inordinate amount of space on the Front Page. I’d love for there to be an option to hide them – or make them appear when you click on the Tag icon.
Are you suggesting I change the font for ”.feature” in the CSS ? Would that not affect other fonts?
Thanks for your quick reply.
Heya Bat!
You’ve got a few options for the tags themselves… both of these are CSS snippets you can put inside the custom CSS panel:
.tags{display: none;}or
.tags a { border-radius: 3px 3px 3px 3px; display: block; float: left; margin: 5px 2px 0 0; padding: 1px 6px; text-decoration: none; }And for the fonts – if you change it just for .feature, it won’t affect any of the other fonts
B
Hi epicera, Thanks for the response. I’ve been away, so unfortunately wasn’t able to implement those changes you suggested. I did, however try and edit the custom CSS on Wordpress, but the changes you suggested didn’t seem to affect the blog at all. The site is invinciblog.com – I’m trying to make it so that the grey tags beneath each post on the front page aren’t so big and clunky. Are the snippets you supplied meant to change or hide them? When I hit Preview it doesn’t seem to affect the page at all. I’m a little confused. Sorry.
Sorry… just tried those snippets again. I think I made the mistake of including the ‘pre’ tag from the email notification.
The .tags{display: none;} worked. It turned off tags.
The other snippet didn’t seem to do anything – even when i lowered all the values…
How do I control the size and color of the tag “buttons’ and the font of the tags to make them smaller?
BTW : if this is too much to change in the template, never mind: I can live with it. Just being a perfectionist.
Thanks again.
Heya Bat!
Hmmm – I just re-tested those snippets on my side and everything seems to be working fine… It could be a plugin issue, so make sure you disable any extra non-theme-recommended plugins when conducting troubleshooting to rule that possibility out.
Cheers! B
Hello epicera, great theme!
When will the file .pot?
The version 2.0.4 will be available when?
Thanks!
Hi kspA!
2.0.4 should be out later this week… which will roll out some new portfolio features and a couple additional tweaks. The .POT files are something that users need to generate… this is for a couple reasons:
1. I am an English-only speaker (unless I’m ordering at a Mexican restaurant). I assure you that you wouldn’t want me translating this to other languages using something like Google Translate
2. Translations can work in a lot of different ways… some people want “Next Page” to read as “More Posts”... and this gets complicated by different language/culture phrasing of those sorts of things.
3. No one has contributed any .POT files yet for this theme. When we have some turned in, they’ll go into the translation folder
There’s a whole writeup on how it works though included in the FAQ section at http://makedesign.ticksy.com
Cheers! B
1. I was referring to the default file (without translation). How is your theme with the correct marking, could generate the file (send private). From this file one can change the default language (English) and also insert other languages more easily (I use the program Poedit).
2. You can change the default file to make these adjustments.
3. Will contribute with the default file so that others can translate into other languages.
Thank you and sorry for anything. I hope that the file can help you with anything (especially for my english ’:D).
Ahhh – that’s all setup through the CodeStyle localization plugin – check out the FAQ on it here: http://makedesign.ticksy.com/faq/214

Hi!
I’m trying to set my landing page as a Portfolio, but when I browse the Page at the left side menu (Preferences) and I choose it, both the slider and the “welcome text” disappear… How can I fix it?
Thank you!
Hi Marina!
First – you can set the page from the Settings > Reading panel (it sounds like you got that far) – then, if you’re on the latest version of the theme (2.0.4), there’ll be a Skeleton Page Options section under the page text-editor where you can assign the slider, page caption, etc.
Cheers! B
Hi again! Before you answer my last question, I have a bug now…! I erased all the sample photos in the slider and tried to upload mine (I want to show a single photo) an when I upload ANY photo, save it and the check my website… The website tab bugs… What can I do? Thank you again!
Hi Marina!
Try deleting all of those slides entirely and re-creating your slides entirely with your images

Hi, apologies if it’s been mentioned before, but could you tell me how to show the front page caption when I set home page to a page rather than posts?
Hi Xun!
Unfortunately that’s not an option right now (I’ll try to add it in the next update) – your best bet is to either use the feature-bar shortcode at the top of your page, or use the page caption option
Cheers! B
Hi,
Two three quick questions. First, I have my home page displaying my latest posts in the “Traditional Blog View with full frame pictures”. In two blog posts I have links included in the text. However, the links are only active if I click and view the individual blog post. Is there any way to make the links active on the home page?
Second, my slider is slightly off center. Is that normal? It’s a bit to the left.
Thirdly, my “responsive” menu isn’t working on my iphone. I can select different items but the page won’t load and it stays on the homepage.
Thanks.
-Rolando
Hi Rolando!
Check out the Advanced Excerpt plugin and our video on it here: http://youtube.com/makedesignnotwar – it’ll give you the functionality that you’re looking for on the links inside excerpts
Checking it out – got a link?
Ditto. got a link?
Cheers! B
My website is currently on a folder different from the root domain until it is ready to go. http://www.palacethefilm.com/wordpress
Let me know if you can help me out with the slider and the mobile version. Thanks!
P.S. There’s no way to get the navigation menu in the top hat is there? Am I going to have to get into coding/developing to do that? -Rolando
Heya Vegz!
1. Tophat menu – nope, not without a bit of extra coding. It’s not terribly complicated stuff, but I’d definitely recommend you hit up http://freelancers.mdnw.net if you haven’t done anything like this sort of theme mod before.
2. I hadn’t noticed the off-centered slider until now, I’ll patch this today and release it as 2.0.4.1
Cheers! B
Also, the footer background doesn’t seem to work with the ‘boxed out’ skin. And I have the same issue as above, the slider is a little off-centre. Apart from these little issues, it’s a very very good theme, very satisfied.
Hi Xun!
That’s correct – the boxed out version sets the BG for the footer to transparent by default. I’ll check out the centering issue though – thanks for the heads up!
Cheers! B
This theme is great!! Thank you!
I’m using the 3 column hybrid blog home page. Perhaps this is a silly question, but is there a way of making the grid items link to pages instead of posts?
Hi April!
Not a silly question at all – unfortunately I haven’t run across a way of doing this without creating an entirely new template file and rewriting the whole query for that template to grab pages instead of posts… it’s not impossible, but it does take a fair bit of custom work. You might want to hit up one of the guys at http://freelancers.mdnw.net for assistance on this one
Good question though! B
Actually, it’s cool.. don’t waste your time with my above question. I just adjusted the CSS on the single.php pages so that the posts have the same style as the pages—better this way actually. Thanks anyway!
Ok April – Thanks for the update – holler if there’s anything else though
B
Thank you and for the above as well =)
Hi,
Im having trouble with pagination on the front page. The PREVIOUS button leads to a 404 error on page 2. Any suggestions?
Thank you!
Hi Vita!
First – what version are ya on? We resolved this one in the last couple of updates… but the basic workflow for anyone still experiencing issues is this:
1. Set permalinks to Default (for testing). 2. Turn off any caching plugins (again, until you get this working – some caching plugins interfere with WP permalinks) 3. Use the recommended WP Paginate plugin.
We’ve got some FAQs on it here and you can also file a ticket with login details if you still encounter issues: http://makedesign.ticksy.com
Cheers! B
I really like this! I’m considering buying. Couple things though…the example site doesn’t seem to work good and I thought you’d want to know, images don’t load and I’m randomly getting an error message that says “MDNW Core Premium WordPress Themes Registration has been disabled.”
Also question about the menu, I’m not a fan of the two lines of text for menu items, is that able to be changed?
Hi Baylee!
What pages are you seeing that error? It’s possible this was just some temporary downtime, but I’m seeing everything normally on the demo… thanks!
B
And yes, the second line of text for the menu items can remedied easily : )
Cheers, Charlie
Hi, I have my gallery split into categories, which then appear as links to filter the thumbnails. On click the image enlarges and all images with the same post title are displayed as thumbs in the lightbox so the user can scroll though. However, I would rather these images were linked via category than image title, so that when selecting the filter ‘all’, the user can scroll through all pics in the gallery. Any ideas?
Hi Xunyuk,

I like your theme—it’s very stylish and understated. I just have one question:
Do you plan on adding “related posts” to Reason in the future?
Thanks in advance for your reply.
Saul.

Hi,
Really like your themes, but I always have trouble setting up the slider. Have no idea why it does not work. Could you help?
Cheers!

Where do I install the css code? styles.css claims that these droids are not the droids I was looking for’ – which I like btw!!
Where do I put this css: ?
myform1{
background: #F7F7F7; width : 230px; margin: 10px auto; position: relative; height: 275px; border: 2px solid #D4F4FF; border-radius:10px; -moz-border-radius:10px; box-shadow: 10px 10px 5px #888888; }
Hi Special_K,

confusing when the writeup on the theme says version 2.0.4 but actual update is 2.0.5
...just saying.
BTW your new theme looks awesome. Think I will have to check it out a little more and get the wallet out.
Double post
Thanks K!

Thanks for the update on that Special – I’ll update the text right now (sometimes we wait to update it as the TF crew takes time to approve our updates).

Does the slider on the home page accommodate any height image?? Thanks!
Heya Chuck!
Yep – it’ll take any height image
