Hi,
Is it possible to change the order of the home page slides?
Thanks, Tom
Yes, using the “Menu Order” attribute on the right side when editing a slide.
Hi
Just wandering whether this theme will integrate with Buddypress?
Thanks
Not at the moment, no.
I like everything about this theme except I don’t see the ability to have a blog. Can that be done?
Hi Justin,
Just wondering how I can make my current posts come up on my home page? they dont seem to be showing.
http://www.elliotdwennen.comLooks like you need to add the Recent Posts widget to the homepage widget block. Go to Appearance > Widgets to do this.
Thanks Justin! I really am enjoying this wordpress theme. Thank You so much
You’re welcome, glad you like the theme!
I like the look of this theme. The events thumbnails are really nice, as are the slightly curved feature images. A couple of issues before I buy:
1. Can the background be changed on individual pages, or is it a site-wide setting affecting all pages? This isn’t a deal breaker, I’m just curious.
2. Currently your demo has an error on the event pages: “Notice: Undefined variable: counter in /var/www/vhosts/scheetzdesigns.com/demo/rebirth/wordpress/wp-content/themes/rebirth/page-upcomingevents.php on line 58”. Can you check this? I wouldn’t want that error to pop up on my client’s site so I’d like to know it’s taken care of before buying the theme.
The background is site-wide and the error was temporary while I was working on it today. Thanks for your interest!
I’ve purchased and installed this theme, and like it very much. The theme options are well designed. The CSS is well organized, though it is frustrating that it’s buried. The custom post types are exceptionally well structured and easy to work with.
However, I need to use fonts other than the handful of fonts available in the options pane, and the theme doesn’t seem to let me use anything outside those fonts. I’ve even tried using the “important” attribute to force something as benign as the tagline element to use a system font and it simply won’t. A look at the CSS suggests that you may be using an API approach or something like LESS to manage the fonts. Is this the case? How can I apply @fontface or system fonts to override the ones in the theme options list?
In the most recent update (v1.6), available now from ThemeForest (go to your Downloads page to redownload), the main stylesheet is located in the theme’s root folder, so you can edit this css from the WordPress admin panel.
As for the custom fonts, they are loaded via Google Webfonts. In “header.php”, on Line 44, you’ll see where I’m loading the Google font. Just replace that with your own custom font (or just remove it if you’re not using custom fonts).
Then the next line loads the custom stylesheet. Open up ”/_theme_styles/custom.php” and you’ll see the PHP -driven customized stylesheet that loads. If you remove the custom font entries entirely (Lines 34-50) it should default to a system font. Then you should be able to override that.
Hope this helps! And FYI , I have a great support system for questions like this if any more come up. Thanks for purchasing!
http://scheetzdesigns.ticksy.comThanks for the quick reply. Your support is excellent, as is your theme. I’ll be looking out for future themes from your portfolio.
You’re very welcome, enjoy the theme!
Hello,
Fantastic Theme. Very easy to work with. I really like it. Thank you!
I have a couple of questions:
1) Is it possible to have more than one location on the Google Map under upcoming events template?
If yes, how do I do that? If not, what do I need to make multiple locations show on the map?
2) On the item details tab for the Rebirth on ThemeForest website, there are some screenshots with different background images. Are those background images actually available?
Thank you for your time.
1) Not by default, no. This would be a customization request that I could take care of for a fee if needed.
2) They aren’t included for copyright purposes, but you can change the background to whatever you’d like. I suggest PhotoDune.net or GraphicRiver.net for finding some great images.
Hi, Is it possible to choose another language for dates? fr_FR for example… Tks !
You can change the countdown script from the Theme Options page on the language tab. The rest of the dates can be changed via the language file that’s included with the theme. With software like POEdit or a language plugin like this one: http://wpml.org/
Thanks so much for your reply! Much appreciated.
There are issues with the slider when the Chrome and Safari browsers are used with the zoom level larger than “actual size”. Firefox is fine. The first slide works fine but then it starts to cut off the slide.
Okay, first of all THANK YOU for figuring out an issue I’ve been having with MANY users complaining about the slider getting cut off in Chrome. Now I know it’s NOT an issue with the theme…
Secondly, like I said above it’s not an issue with the theme. I certainly cannot make my themes work when the browser zoom level is changed.
Just thought I would mention it. Not sure why it works in Firefox, but not in the others. Weird.
I just updated our template to v1.6 this morning. The update messed up our page. http://www.groundedhs.com is our home page. Help would be greatly appreciated.
Looks fine to me, but you probably need to add your homepage slides again using the new Slides custom post type.
The page started working like you said. I updated to 1.7 and i got (Enhanced Custom Fields configuration error: Trying to add non ECF object ot ECF panel field) @ www.groundedhs.com. I can’t even log onto the WP admin.
You’ll have to manually remove the theme and upload to the latest version (1.7.5). This should fix the issues.
This is probably a custom change, but here goes. As much as I first liked the curved frame for the main image and other images——I’m wanting to now go with a regular rectangular frame around the main page header and everything else. Any way I could do that?
tks
I can do this for you for a small customization fee. Feel free to submit a ticket and I’ll give you a quote:
http://scheetzdesigns.ticksy.comHello, I just installed the 1.6 update and it messed up my site. Please have a look and let me know as soon as possible! www.spiritisthouston.org
Thanks
You probably need to reload a few times, it’s probably cached. I’m seeing the site just fine, however you’ll need to rebuild your slider since that functionality has changed substantially.
v1.7 was just released as well, which fixes a few bugs.
I tried reloading a few times, but it did not get better. I soon after reverted back to v1.5 and it worked again. I don’t know what you mean by rebuilding the slider. Can you explain?
Thanks!
The slide functionality has been changed substantially. You need to go in and rebuild your slides using the Slides custom post type. It will be in the sidebar of the WP-Admin panel.
I, with the last release I’ve problems to attach an event on the slider
_If possible? The categories’s only IMAGE , AUDIO, VIDEO and MAP :/Thanks W.
Correct, you would want to use one of those types, and then LINK it to an event (which is the next step in creating the slide).
OK, just do it *_^ Another question: I’ve problems to build MEDIA menù like on the site and page galleries as well. Can you help me?
THK
R.
Great updates recently! Just launched 1.8. I think the new slide feature is very helpful. I did notice that the option to load oggs as audio items is missing. Is there a reason for that? My mp3’s still play warbly in Chrome. It looks like I can link to an ogg file, but will that mess things up in Firefox, IE, etc? Thanks!
OGGs are no longer required because I switched it to a Flashplayer on desktops, and it will load the MP3 in an HTML5 player on mobile devices.
Justin, super fast reply. I know myself and many others here appreciate your professionalism!
Great news on dropping the ogg. Just saved me some time. However, as I mentioned, I’m getting that nasty warble on the file in Chrome (Mac version 21.0.1180.89), but it always played the oggs perfectly. I also get the “Chrome could not load shockwave-flash” message whenever I page on the site. Is that a theme or chrome issue? Again, thanks for the help.
The warble sounds like an MP3 compression issue and the other thing sounds like a browser issue for sure.
Hi there
I just upgraded to 1.8 and the home page blocks no longer appear. They did appear in 1.7.
I’ve added the rebirth Event Countdown, Media Items and Upcoming Events to the Hoziontal widget block and I can’t see them.
Additionally, they are not hidden under Theme Options, home page blocks.
thanks for your help. Glenn
Send me your URL and login through my support system and we’ll figure it out:
http://scheetzdesigns.ticksy.comWhere can I download 1.8 directly. I want to try a manual update and see if that fixes. Maybe the WP update didn’t fully work.
If that doesn’t work I’ll send you the login info.
thx
You can download it from your ThemeForest Downloads tab (from your Profile)
The current download readme shows v1.6.
Sorry, the readme.txt is wrong. The theme in that package is the latest version, however.
Hi,
My homepage slider just stopped working! It used to before but now the preloader just stays there and none of the actual slides displays.
I’ve tried deactivating all installed plugins but still no change.
^ I just cleared cookies whilst all plugins were still deactivated and found it really was one of my plugins responsible as the slider came back on.
I’ve also found which plugin is causing it – wp ecommerce. Its one I can’t do without and need help finding a solution to this.
It’s most likely a Javascript conflict since the slider stopped working. I would look at the error logs on page (using Chrome developer tools, etc.) and see what’s happening. Feel free to submit a ticket and I can check it out for you:
