Reflex - Dynamic Grid Portfolio + Blog Theme

Looking for support with two area:

1. hacking the topbar area. I want to include some logos in there and also some social media links (using different icons to the ones you have up there). Can’t seem to do this in header.php. Can you please give me some advice about how to do this?

2. also, i’m using a static page with a category-defined feed of posts as my site homepage. Is there a way to make the thumbnails themselves clickable to lead into content… the alternative i tried was to use a blank page template for the homepage and create a table inside which I put content, but for some reason this would not work – is reflex not compatible with tables?

Love this theme! My site ran on Flex before, and I’m really happy I upgraded. I too had some problems with the timthumbs, but after following the directions of mickna, everything worked fine.

That said, when viewed on an iOS mobile device (iPhone), some weird things happen. It looks fine initially, but when I pinch to zoom, bottom bar (the one that expands when clicking on the ”+” sign) expands and takes over the screen. Is anyone else having this problem?

Otherwise, this theme is fantastic. Great work!

@adminlamer: please read the helpfile that comes with the theme, it tells you basicly everything on how to install it and filling it with content…

BTW , it’s a good idea to have the latest version of Wordpress installed too.

So any thoughts on the update??

I love this theme but can’t figure out how to change the top bar background color from black. Please advise.

One more question. I love the look of the “Grid Blog Clean” style, with the post title revealed when hovering over. However, it makes it difficult to click the “Previous” and “Next Page” tabs down at the bottom left (at least, when I view my site and the example site in Firefox). See the bottom-left of this screenshot:

Is there a way to make the “Previous” and “Next Page” tabs float on top of everything, including the individual post boxes, which currently cover them (as in the screenshot)?

Not sure what happened…. my site was running fine, then I had couldn’t login to my admin panel. I kept getting redirect errors (though the site looked fine…. just couldn’t log in). After two days of trying to figure it out, the error had to do with Option Tree. If I deleted the Option Tree files, I could login fine. But if I did, the site went down. Any ideas?

I’ve resorted to switching back to the Flex theme by the same author, but would really, really like to turn the Reflex theme back on. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello! Could you please help me out? I love the theme and use it on one of our sites, but the issue is that I can’t display the categories titles on thumbnails properly. Some of them display, some not. What could be the error with this? Any help?

Since Sunday I’ve sent emails and posted asking for help under flex but I haven’t heard anything from you.

I have mistakenly bought the html version of Flex instead of the wordpress one. Is there a way I could pay the difference and get the correct version? I would be willing to purchase Reflex before getting my refund if you would like to do it that way. Thank you.

Guess I can forget about getting any kind of support in regards to my problem. Purchasing the html version instead of the Wordpress version was my mistake. Of course, the designer certainly wouldn’t be required to put my money already spent toward the correct version but it would have been only common courtesy to respond to my emails and board postings. I can console myself in the knowledge that I’m only out $20 instead of $35 for a theme with Bad Support.

Reflex 1.1. has a crucial problem: Inserting multiple videos into a single gallery no longer works! When I add multiple video clips to a post – using lightbox_gallery_link in custom fields – the final video link which has lightbox_link in the custom field simply gets erased when I click update. As a result featured image does not display and you can not see the grid module.

Displaying multiple video entries in a single gallery used to work in the last Reflex version 1.05 This is a crucial feature for using your theme for an online portfolio!

Option Tree no longer available in the dashboard, so cannot import theme_options.XML

changelog.txt doesn’t say much about what changed in the new update and help documentation is same as previous versions, none of the links in the PDF works.

Hey Brandon – lovin this theme! The last tweak I’m trying to make is removing the search bar function and art completely – it currently drops down to the main area when the window is scaled down and interferes with the content below (hope that makes sense). I see you’ve answered that for someone, but I can’t seem to figure it out (for 1.1) and don’t really understand what you mean by “removing the call to action”. If you could explain how to do it it would be super – thanks man!

can i show flash (swf) files in the portfolio?

Great theme. In the middle of customizing my theme now.

Just curious how I can seperate my posts into pages with this theme. If I have a Portfolio Page that has subcategory pages of Illustration, Sketchbook and Paintings….how do I upload images ( as posts per the instructions ) to each page? And How do I define WHICH goes to the default home page portfolio?

Excellent theme. I’ve noticed that the posts are being shown in order of date which is great. However, previous month’s posts are moved to “Previous Posts” – (the link at the bottom left).

Is there any way to change that so all posts appear on the front page?
