Does it support other languages?

For example, is it possible to have a small icon on top right with different language versions?

Hi, Yes, It support localization. Theme includes language .po .mo file in the /languages/ folder. You can translate it using a PO Editor.

Multi language translation is possible through a plugin. You can either use a free plugin such as Qtranslate or WPML plugin which can generate the language switching flags on the top. The codes are already present in the theme. You’ll just need to activate the plugin. With Qtranslate or similar plugins you’ll manually need to add them.

Hi, we like the look of this theme for our design studio, but we have some questions which we would be grateful if you could answer:

1. Is it possible to remove the sidebar from the portfolio page (i.e. full width portfolio item)?

2. Is it possible to also remove the sidebar from the blog?

3. When clicking a portfolio image, the image opens in lightbox. Can this be changed to open the portfolio item (image, description, video, notes, tags etc) instead of the image?

4. We need to have our website in Basque and Spanish languages. Is this possible to achieve without using an external plugin such as WPML?

5. Social network buttons. Some buttons such as Twitter are out of date. Also, the demo only shows 4 examples. Are more available?

Hi,

1,2 This isn’t in the theme but it can be done through modification.

3. You can directly link the portfolio image as direct link instead of lightbox.

4. For a single language translation you won’t need any plugins. For multi lingual you’ll need a plugin. WPML codes are already in the theme.

Qtranslate is a good too but you’ll need to translate theme options manually. For WPML theme options variables are picked up by the plugin for translation.

5. No social icons are bundled. You can use any icons for social widget. It’s not restricted to a set.

How can I show only post items of 1 category on a blog page?

Hi,

You can list all categories as a blog list or create a blog list based on post formats too.

You can display category archives , which can display sub categories lists as well.

There’s also tag based archives where you can list blog posts according to tags.

There’s no option to have a choice of categories , but you can combine more if they are sub categories.

You’ll need to add some CSS styles to get the best look to the additional tag. You can use the class name “newsreadmore”

You can edit /css/responsive.css file

Locate the following class

#slidecaption

And remove any properties applied to them or remove the ID in whole. You’ll need to set the font-size and position them for a better fit for smaller screens using font-size.

Hello, I have some video issues:

1) Vimeo Just added a fullscreen Vimeo page. Problem: Can’t stop or pause the video. The video controls are visible the first second and after that it disappears. How can i set the video controls full accessible during the whole video?

2) YouTube (via JW Player) Before i tried the fullscreen YouTube video. Problem: Video doesn’t work in iPad or iPhone. Do i have to change the settings somewhere?

Hi Daniel,

1. The video video is playable and can be paused and played back. The video controls are visible without problems. The vimeo video is displayed through Vimeos iframe. The embed code has no control from the theme as its all done from vimeo.

2. I checked your site , the vimeo video works for iPad too. Could you forward me the youtube video url. I can check.

Hi,

I did some research on the error and found that youtube doesn’t hold HTML5 video content for all videos. For them the iphone or iOS devices won’t be able to do playbacks.

Hey, verry nice theme! I have just bought it! Is it possible to show the Social Icons in mobile template? I have used the social icon widget for language flags and it would be nice to show them on mobile version, too!

Another Problem: The Images are STRETCHED in mobile version. Is there any fix iam not able to find?

Hi,

The problem with the images is that they have height and width dimensions hardcoded to the image tag. You can remove those height and width properties.

eg.

<img src="your-image-path" class="as-defined-there" alt="the-alt-text" />

This will solve responsive features for those images.

Social header is Off for mobile devices currently.

To switch it On. edit /css/responsive.css Remove all

.social-header: display:none;

properties from the file.

And remove all

.top-menu-wrap { margin-top: 0; }

You’ll can tweak the value a bit to get it display right. Something like margin-top:10px; depending on the gap you want. I’ll note this addition as an update.

You can leave the image title field empty by removing all text.

edit /functions/shortcodes/slideshow.php

Replace line 267 with following
