I am considering purchasing this theme. Can you tell me if I add a youtube vidoe to the home page can I allow audio to play as well?

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

The video header runs of Youtube, you can add audio with a tiny customisation, if you buy the theme I can help you with this.

Ok great thanks. I would like to add a youtube video with the sound from the video. Is that possible?

tommusrhodus

Yep :) That’s what I meant, I think I worded it strangely :)

Hi. I wish to completely disappear the navigation button for web browsing. The problem is that this button also disappears for Responsive navigation. Do you have a solution?

tommusrhodus

Do you mean you want to remove the “bars” button on desktop and bring it back for mobiles?

Cheers

Default-user

Yes. No button for Web but just for Mobiles and iPad. Thanks

tommusrhodus

Ok, I’ll take a look at how we can do this for a theme update :)

Thank you. Because even with this option “Always Show Navigation?(Yes)” causes a bug in Safari. The button has no utility and move. Can you do this update quickly please?

Default-user

Do you have any solution about this bug ? :)

I have a theme update booked for Monday 19th.

So we’ve bought the theme, and are having some issues.

1. On a vertical ipad – the intro animating text left justifies, instead of remaining centered. This is when viewing our live site on an actual ipad, not a scaled down desktop window.

2. Also on both vertical ipad/iphone (again, actual devices) the ‘down arrow’ on the slideshow seems to be set to be a certain distance under the intro text, which means that it’s in the middle of the page rather then the bottom of the screen. Can we change where the arrow positions itself so that it’s relative to the section below, rather then the text? i.e. so it’s in the same spot on every version.

3. We’d like to be able to control the speed at which the intro animating text changes, i.e. if we have 5 text changes, 1-4, would be on the screen for 2 seconds each and 5 would be on the screen for 5 seconds – to ensure that our final text makes an impact.

4. I’ve noticed that after the initial visit to the site – because of caching – the intro text will pick up where ever it was when I left the site. i.e. if I go check facebook at #3 intro text, then come back to the site, it picks up again at #3. How can I specify that it always begins on #1?

also, happy to share the site with you privately if that would be helpful

We’ve seen your ticket and will be answering shortly.

Love the theme!

I just wanted to report… It looks like there’s a glitch on your demo? I believe there are supposed to be parallax images in some of the content areas (in the testimonials area, it looks like perhaps there should be an image of someone putting on their watch – also the developer view shows other areas where parallax images were intended but are not displaying).

Are these glitches reflected in the last stable release, or are you guys fiddling?

Also, some of the CSS is a little off for tiny screens (viewing the demo on my Android, there is a lot of white space in the portfolio preview, and the button for “submit” at the bottom is off, for example).

I love what you guys have done, though, and would buy again. I just wanted to bring these issues to your attention.

All care, L.

I just imported the dummy data to my page. The parallax images show up wonderfully well on my page. I still worry about your demo, though, and if it’s scaring away customers. I’ll also need to check the mobile view to see if the CSS looks better on the non-demo site. All care, L.

Default-user

Hmmm… I take that back. The Home Video page doesn’t have but one of the parallax images displaying (and it, in the Twitter area), and it doesn’t have the default image of the shoe as a static image in the background, nor the other parallax images.

I also wonder – your custom contact footer with the icons, is that included in the dummy content?

All care, L.

Default-user

Ok. I found the custom contact footer (the Rise Contact Widget). No worries. A bit of proofreading help, though: it’s “Let’s be friends.” (versus Lets be friends.) I’m loving the interface of this theme! Much thanks, L.

tommusrhodus

Hey there L :)

Just wanted to check what issues you still faced from the above? I’d love to take a look into what you mention. Is it just want you mention in the first message?

Cheers!

All the things that I’ve noticed that I wanted to see about changing, glitches and suggestions, included…

Desktop: 1. Glitch – on the Home Video, checked on Firefox and Chrome, Windows OS – the parallax images for the image sections don’t appear to work correctly, as compared to the static image version. They randomly “band” and generally allow the main background image (the shoes) to shine through. 2. Suggestion – adding a second “Home” option as a drop-down, showing people the static-image and/or gallery options (vs. the video-only home option). I think you could sell more versions of the theme if you show people that you provide options and dummy content for both. 3. Glitch – Currently, on the first slide (the video), only the arrow down font-icon is clickable; I wish it offered a more generous click area. The hover-effect effects the entire circle, but the click-area is only the tiny arrow – it seems counter-intuitive. 4. Suggestion – Skills & Services – I really wish the skills were in a gallery with hover-visible arrows, so more than 3 skill areas could be listed. I realize, though, that this would have implications for mobile if too many are initially listed. 5. Suggestion – Portfolio Preview – to me, based on my internet experience, I want the arrows to be higher than they are to advance to the next portfolio item. I will custom-edit this, myself, but consider it as a default. It’s nice, regardless, though, and I’ve seen it this way, but the mid-level arrow option seems more intuitive, somehow. 6. Suggestion – I really really wish you had a blog preview styled with the “most recent blog posts” featured in their own div on the home page.

Mobile: 1. Suggestion – On the Random Facts section, it feels like there is too much white space there after the heading and between the elements, but particularly after the heading, especially on my small phone – the extra white space seems very unintentional. Also, the headline size for this section is the same size as the text under the numbers at the smallest size. It seems like it should be a little larger. 2. Suggestion – The ellipses (.....) after the headings in the “I deliver creative solutions” and “testimonials” sections seem to have too much white space on smaller screens to me. 3. Suggestion – at a mid-level breakpoint, the numbers in the work method section appear on the far left above their respective sections. I keep wishing that they floated left, much like their desktop-counterparts, instead of taking up their own line on the left. 4. Glitch – the portfolio-view on my mobile is not very aesthetically pleasing. Some things I noticed: a) Above “Some Project Title” there is a ton of white space. Were the arrows and the X intended to go in this space? b) I also think that the arrows and the X should probably be connected in a better way to the preview. c) The red hr elements above and below the DESIGN ILLUSTRATION, etc., categories are not the same length or pixel width on my mobile screen. d) These category items look like they should be clickable, but they are not. This is just an observation. As it is, perhaps the category information should be presented differently on tiny mobile screens. It just looks a little off to me. I would discard the red hr elements and try another approach, entirely, on smaller mobile screens. Note: my screen on my phone has less width than Chrome even allows for a preview on a desktop. e) The text on my mobile has no padding whatsoever in its white box. It looks like the project box should have less of a margin on the outside and more of a padding allowance on the inside of its box. 5) Suggestion – For the Contact area, it looks like there is too much white space after the sub-title (after START.) I’ll be changing this in my child theme to make the text have better proximity and connection to the form. 6) Suggestion – the font-height on the Twitter feed is huge on my mobile device. I will likely cut it down a few pixels. 7). Glitch – on my mobile, the submit button is floating right, on its own line, with zero padding between it and the captcha on the line above. I intend to float the submit button below the captcha, on the left, and give it equal padding with the rest of the form. 8) Suggestion – blog titles on my mobile seem huge on my tiny mobile, perhaps another breakpoint with different pixel points for smaller mobile screens? I will do that on my own, but I raise it because it got my attention.

I love the theme. It’s tops. I’m offering all of this just to be thorough on what I noticed and in the hopes to help point out what might lead to a tighter theme.

All care, much thanks, L.

My last reply initially had more breaks, but themeforest deleted them… argh… Sorry for the wall of text, L.

tommusrhodus

Woah! Awesome! :) thanks so much for taking the time to write that, this will really help improve the theme as you mention :)

Making notes on this now.

Cheers!

Default-user

You are most welcome! Also: you may want to consider adding an “Agency” home page alongside your current “Personal Portfolio” option (with team members and a separate about section). Just by adding a little bit of extra dummy content, you might land more sales. All care, L.

Hi I just purchased the “Rise” theme for Wordpress and I cannot find the videos that you use to demo the theme in the first top of landing page. Are these videos included? If not where can I purchase them?

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

The video in the landing page is simply a YouTube video, the header uses youtube to drive itself.

When in edit mode for the page you’ll see a youtube ID entry, here’s the ID you want:

Problem: I can see the video (large thumb) on my home page AND I can see the YouTube controls (not good), but it is not auto-playing (also not good).

Please advise.

tommusrhodus

Can you please provide a site URL so I can see this in action? Also what browser & OS is this issue in?

Cheers

Fascinated by the video as a background and chose your theme because it seemed simple yet great. Loving it so far! Can you help me with increasing the height of the menu bar? And font? I’ve been unable to find it in any of the editor files.

Hey there,

add the following to “appearance” => “customise” => “custom css” and modify to your needs:

header { padding:20px 0px 8px; }
ul.navigation li a { font-size: 16px; }

worked perfect, thank you! if i wanted to add an image that lays over the video, is it possible?

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

You could try edit page_home_video.php for this, but this isn’t something that’s directly built into the theme.

Cheers!

that worked. for anyone interested i used: <center></center>

this centered the image and placed it low enough so it wasn’t overlapped by the header. goes directly underneath:

blocked out the code i had entered.

Hi there,

Love the template and trying to make a few custom mods.

Current build is here: fluentvisual.wpengine.com

1) Trying to embed a Vimeo video on the home page (Image Alt) in the spot where the Tagline and Slider are. What method should I use to center or otherwise vertically align the embed? Going for the following look:

http://fluentvisual.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Screen-Shot-2013-04-16-at-12.41.01-AM.png

2) Trying to add a Vimeo “social icon” to the footer widgets. Do you have a Vimeo Icon available for this or can you tell us where we could find these through our WP install? We also looked in the purchased theme folders but couldn’t find them.

3) If you look at our services page…how do we remove the cast from the background image?

4) We would like replace the main navigation text with icons. Is this possible and how?

Thank you

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

1. You’d need to modify page_home_alt.php in the theme files.

2. Sorry, we don’t currently have a vimeo icon currently, I’ll see how we can update the theme for this.

3. add this to custom css in the theme options:

.tint { background: none; }

4. You’d need to customise the navigation output with a custom nav menu walker.

Hello, I’ve purchased this theme and like it very much, so thank you. However, I’m having problems finding where to change fonts within the main features. Specifically, I have tried using the custom code listed in your ‘Readme’ page to change the font for the drop-down menu but I can’t get it to work:

header.navbar .nav > li > a, #header .dropdown-menu li a {

font-family: ‘Montserrat’, arial; }

I have the Google Font plug-in recommended by you installed but even when I try a standard font like ‘Times new roman’, it won’t work.

Thanks in advance, Georgina

tommusrhodus

Hey there :)

I think a bit of code is missing above, could you drop me a site URL you’re working on?

Cheers!

Default-user

Yes you’re right, I didn’t paste the whole bit of code in my message but I’m pretty certain it’s in the CSS part. The URL is www.iainaitken.com. Thanks in advance, Georgina

Ps. Wondering if you also have a way to change: A) the size of the sub-header on the homepage B) the font style for the page headings

I’d also like to add some text to the homepage and can’t seem to figure out where to add this. Thanks again in advance. Let me know if I should write separate comments/tickets for these.

Default-user

That smiley face was supposed to be a B!

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

Regarding your font sizing & styling, this is going to require custom CSS, if you wish to make such changes to your site you can contact our customisation partners using the correct link here:

http://madeinebor.com/content/

Your homepage can be modified using Ebor Template Builder under “appearance” from the dashboard, all other Homepage settings can be modified from its edit screen.

You have a coming soon plugin enabled so I cannot see your site for your first question.

Cheers

Default-user

Hello, I have deactivated the Coming Soon plug-in so you can see the site. Apologies, I guess I thought you had a trick to bypass this!

Regarding the CSS, none of the code I place in there seems to make any difference. Please let me know what I’m doing wrong.

Thanks in advance.

tommusrhodus

Just add this selector via the plugin settings so that you can target the navigation:

ul.navigation li a

My video has stopped playing on Safari. Works great on Firefox and Chrome though. Any suggestions?

tommusrhodus

Hey there,

The video runs from youtube, so definitely works with safari :)

It will be just a momentary issue, I use Safari 7 also and can see your video fine :)

Cheers!
