Ignore this. I found a work around. Its to do with TinyMCE plugin I have installed…

Hi Just come across a problem when trying to add a checklist.

In my page I add the code as follows

[green_checklist]
  • list item 1
  • list item 2
  • list item 3
  • [/green_checklist]

But all that appears in the published page is

  • list item 1
  • list item 2
  • list item 3
  • Not a formatted checklist like in your example. Any ideas? Thanks

I would need to see the page where you are adding those shortcodes so I can have a look at your source code. You can also drop me an email via contact form here on tf if you don’t want to share the link to your site here.

    Hi again,

I ended up purchasing this theme, but am having trouble installing it. I’ve tried both the RoyaltyTheme folder and the royalty theme folder within it, but when I try to activate the theme, I get an error message, and if visit the http://www.website.com/wp-admin login, it’s a blank page.

    Any ideas?

Thanks again for your help. Looking forward to enjoying this lovely theme.

The link you posted goes to a page not found. You might have a plugin that interferes with the theme, so deactivate the plugins first. Also, you just have to paste the “royalty” folder to your themes folder(not all the RoyaltyTheme folder that also comes with psds, documentation and license).

If you still have difficulties with installation, I would need a ftp access to your server and access to your wordpress admin too. You can send me the details via contact form here on my themeforest profile.

Hello again starshade. Everything is working wonderful. Thanks for the update. Just what I wanted. I have one small question… how do you get the external link on the menu to open in a new tab?

    starshade

If I remember correctly the wordpress menu doesn’t have any option for an external link and I haven’t seen this anywhere around. Not to mention that you might want to have external link on a certain link, not on all menu links and even if the feature existed, I don’t know how it could be used only on certain links.

    Hi Starshade,

I sent you an email through your profile contact form with the information. Thanks for your help!

Fixed. The theme wasn’t working for obvious reasons: you were using an outdated version of wordpress, more precisely, wordpress 2.9.2. Please see in the item details that the theme is compatible with wordpress 3.0 onwards. I have updated your wordpress and successfully activated the theme.

Is there a way to have that ‘Blog picture link’ be uploaded with a button? I’ve created a blog for a very un-computer savvy person to use, and it’s a bit tedious to say that you can upload all images with the ‘Add an Image’ button EXCEPT the main image which you have to upload a different way, find out the url and past it into this box.

    starshade

Technically yes it can be implemented that way, but unfortunately I am not skilled enough to add or help you with such a feature :(

Is that ‘Blog picture link’ inserted differently into the blog post? i noticed that those images do not show up in my RSS feed.

    starshade

Yes it’s inserted via a custom post option, not directly into content, just like you would be inserting a normal image within the blog post and these custom post options are not shown in the rss feed.

Starshade I am talking about in when you go to Appearance ->Menus ->custom links

and you can type in a URL that will show on the menu bar… I want this to open in a new page instead of the “parent” if that makes sense.

    Thanks for responding also….

    starshade

Yes indeed it can be done. I didn’t know wordpress had this option until now, but webmanna post caught my attention so I checked it out. He / she didn’t say exactly what to do, but here is the solution:

Open the screen option at the top right of the wordpress admin(have a screenshot with it in the documentation too, see menu section). Check the checkbox “Link Target”. Now open the detail of your custom link you have already added to the menu. You will see a new dropdown option displayed, named “Link Target”. By default, it’s set to “Same window or tab”. Select the other option, “New window or tab” then click on Save Menu.

This should do exactly what you’ve asked. Big thanks to webmanna for pointing it out.

    found it.. nevermind! thanks

    Patience

Open the screen options at the top of the menus page. You probably have to check the link attributes box so it will show as an option on the menus page

    starshade

Thanks for posting. Indeed there is checkbox(Link Target) that enables this option in the wordpress screen options.

Thanks so much guys!!! Everything is coming along great…just gotta edit the content. I appreciate all of the assistance.

    Hi starshade,

I’ve got another quick question for you if I may‚Ķ

I needed multiple galleries/albums, so I have used the NextGEN Gallery plugin to achieve this.

I have created a Gallery with 13 images and the max number of images shown at a time to 12 to create a secondary page.

When I look at the Gallery the first time, there are empty paragraphs inserted before and between each row of thumbnails. When I go to the second page of the Gallery, the paragraphs disappear. When I go to the first page again, the paragraphs are no longer there either. When I reload the Gallery page again, the paragraphs return.

Pulling my hair out over this one, as I don’t know if it is the plugin or the theme causing this. I have used NextGEN on other sites and this isn’t happening on them.

The site is currently being developed, but a temp URL can be provided off list if required.

    Cheers, Craig

    starshade

    Hello,

I have no experience whatsoever with the nextGen Gallery plugin, however please drop me an email(via contact form here on themeforest) with the link to your site so I can better understand the issue. I might also ask for user / pass to your site if I will suppose its something related to content that needs to be fixed.

Hi! Beautiful theme so far! I’ve been modifying CSS on the purple skin, no problems there. I have a question for you though. Is it possible to stop the page from scrolling to the right? I noticed on the demo the footer stops abruptly when scrolling all the way, and I’d like to just stop it from scrolling all together so the footer never seems to stop like that, if you get what I mean. See your demo and my work in progress, http://sheboudoir.com/ If you know of a bit of CSS I can modify to make it work or a line of code to change, I’m game for it! Just wondered if you could point me in the right direction before I go hunting. So far I have not changed any theme files but CSS on the purple skin. Thanks a ton!

    starshade

I don’t think I understand your question then. The second reply is more confusing that the initial post. I checked your site, and everything looks just fine. About scrolling, what scrolling are you referring to ?

    1. Horizontal scrolling ? You say the page is too wide – I don’t understand this, because all content is made within 960px wide, so it’s 100% accessible to users who use at least 1024×768 screen resolution. Also, in this theme, due to its special wide slider, the horizontal scrolling is disabled.

    2. Vertical scrolling – well you do have a scrollbar in the right of the site, which is normal, just like any other site where not all the content doesn’t fit in the screen, so a vertical scrollbar is displayed in the right.

So again, you state: “The page is to wide. Is there a way to fix the width of the page so there’s no right scrolling ?” => The right scrolling shows up not because of the width of the site, but because of the height of its content, that doesn’t fit in your / my screen resolution – there is nothing wrong with it.

I also made a screenshot of your theme so you can see how I see your site. Even though I have a high 1920×1080px screen resolution, on lower resolutions the site looks fine too.

Let me know how else I can help.

Hey starshade, I’m sorry if I wasn’t clear enough. Here’s a screen shot of what I mean

    http://sheboudoir.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/sheboudoirss.png

I’m working on a smaller screen than you are on the laptop, and I’m only able to scroll to the right because the mouse pad on the macbook pro allows you to sweep left or right. If I was just using a regular mouse, I wouldn’t be able to scroll right because you are right, horizontal scroll bar is disabled. So I think the solution, if there is one, would be to make the slider match the width of the main area of the site, 960px so that it lines up with the end of the footer on the right. Is that possible? Or perhaps allow the footer to extend all the way to the right if by chance someone is on a set up like my own and is able to scroll to the right?

BTW , I’m in no way criticizing, I think this is a beautiful theme. I think this might be a special circumstance because the macbook pro allows to scroll right, that’s all. I hope I’ve explained the issue better this time. Thanks!

    starshade

    Hello,

Sorry for late response, I am not able to provide any support at the moment(maybe in 2-3 days from now), but I checked your link and I still don’t understand your issue. The footer is width:100%, so that means it always goes full width from left to right of the screen, no matter what resolution you are using. Your screenshot does not correspond with the design of my theme but the footer is not influenced in any way by the image’s width you are using for the slider.

However, css bugs can occur in one browser or another and assuming you didn’t make modifications to any css styles regarding the structure, please let me know exactly what browser you are using so I can properly check the theme.

Starshade, I am using your theme well, but when I change a normal page to use a Gallery or Portfolio template page, my Page Title nor Page Header Picture appear. But they do when I use the default template.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    starshade

Page title and page header picture for page templates(gallery, portfolios) are added from Appearance -> Theme Options -> tab of your portfolio / gallery. If you try to add these from “Add page” section, they won’t work. Let me know if this is what causes your issue.

Hi Starshade, That worked. Seems like you could of saved yourself some programming if you just read the images in from the custom fields on the page. Thanks anyway.

Hi again! Sorry to keep bothering you! So I’ve set up the blog per the documentation. Created Post Category “Blog”, created subcategory “Session Prep” and created a test entry with those two categories checked. I have set the Category to Blog in the Theme Options – Blog section. Am I missing a step? It doesn’t pull any entries on the blog page currently.

    http://sheboudoir.com/blog/

    And the entry link is:

    http://sheboudoir.com/2011/05/17/test-entry/

I must have missed something! I double checked and for sure Blog is the checked parent category and Session Prep is a checked sub category of Blog. Let me know what you think I may have missed!

    Thanks!

    Kira

    starshade

Just had a look at your theme and to me it looks fine. The “posted in: Session Prep” does appear and it looks just fine. Did you solved it ?

    shekira
    shekira Purchased

I did solve it and I was just coming back to tell you! I think it was a caching problem. Seems to be working fine now!

The theme works with the homepage showing the full posts, without the “continue reading”? Currently, my theme works with “read more ”, but I would like to change the way to show the posts. You can see it in www.cozinhapequena.com

    Sorry for my English!

    starshade

I see. This is related to the way you will be adding the blog posts. And that means you must not use anywhere in your content the “insert more tag”, so your post content won’t have any read more buttons.

Lovely theme! Before I purchase, I just wanted to make sure about a couple of things:

1 – can I rename the theme name so its origins can’t be traced? 2 – how difficult is it to change the background color of the left vertical navigation?

    Thanks again!

    starshade

    1. The theme is white label, it doesn’t preserve anything regarding its name, Royalty. Of course, you would need to edit the style.css to change it’s details regarding its name. Other than this, the backend doesn’t contain any advertising related to my other themes or things like that.

    2. The menu background is a scalable image. You would need to change it from the psds that comes with the theme, but if you need help I can do this free of charge. Just drop me an email via contact form here on my profile with the color code you want to use.

    Hi starshade,

This is my first dip at a Wordpress site, but I love the professional design of yours – it has convinced me to try Wordpress for my new venture!

Before I buy, though, I notice that you mention PSD files. Do you need Photoshop to create a site using this template?

Also (and I am sorry if this is a dumb question!) can you use shopping cart plugins with this site?

    Thanks in anticipation!

    starshade

    Hello Megsy13,

To answer your first question: no you don’t need photoshop to create the royalty site(actually, it’s a theme) since the site, like you name it, is already created. All you need to do is install the theme properly into wordpress and activate it, then just add content following my documentation to create the site(add pages, posts, categories, setup the menu, etc) with your personal content.

The reason that I’ve included all the psds files with the theme is that certain buyers might need to customize different elements of the site by editing the photoshop files, then exporting the edited elements into jpgs/pngs/gifs and replace some of the default graphics with their new ones.

However, please remember that a wordpress theme from here(mine too) doesn’t help you to get started with wordpress. The documentation that comes with my product helps you setup my theme(and points out the particularities of this theem), but it assumes that the user already has basic to intermediate knowledge of how wordpress works and how to use it. My suggestion is to get familiar with wordpress first, then consider purchasing a wordpress theme.

About your second question, I haven’t tested the theme with any shopping cart plugins, but even if certain plugins can be used, some work needs to be done to integrate / adjust the shopping plugins’ styles with the theme.

In my “about” page, I’m having trouble with one particular paragraph.

    http://www.eatdrinkbeglad.com.php5-21.dfw1-2.websitetestlink.com/about

You’ll see the paragraph right of my picture, it’s linking two paragraphs together as one. Even when i’ve tried inserting codes like

or [clear] they either don’t work at all or they shift the second paragraph below the picture.

any suggestions on how I may separate those two paragraphs while keeping them both beside the picture?

    starshade

You should add the image inside paragraph, not outside of it, with alignleft on it. So it will be something like:

    <p><img src="..." alt="" /> paragraph text... </p> <p> your next paragraph with text in it </p>
    Default-user

Sorry, but this didn’t work. If I separate the paragraphs is bumps the paragraph below the picture rather than adding a single line.

    Also,

When i put my slider in place, the text is being covered by the menu? That definitely shouldn’t be happening.

    Secondly,

I have 2 slides (as tests) and only one of them is showing up.

    See below: http://www.eatdrinkbeglad.com.php5-21.dfw1-2.websitetestlink.com/

    starshade

The menu should be a little bit longer in height. You could add description to each menu item to fix this. I know it’s a stupid limitation(the sidebar position is connected to the theme’s menu), but there was no other way to make it work with this design.

About your second issue, you broke the slider. You should insert JUST “2000” – as the slider duration, not “2000 miliseconds”.

I’m trying to localize this theme into Swedish. I’ve edited the .po-file with Poedit and saved it as sv-SE.mo and sv-SE.po and uploaded these files into the themes language folder (wp-content/themes/royalty/languages). I’ve also updated wp-config.php to set WPLANG to sv_SE>

    define(‘WPLANG’, ‘sv_SE’);

Still all the texts on my wep page are English. What am I missing?

Edited: Ah, file names must be sv_SE.mo and sv_SE.po! Problem solved :)
