After creating a new page and selecting the option to use the “blog” template. I select the category I wish to use and it adds the code to the page. [catlist ID=7 content=yes orderby=date order=DESC ] I would like to limit the number of post shown per page to 4. I have tried to edit the number of post per page in the WP Settings/Reading and that didn’t work. I tried to add the code numberposts – Ex: [catlist name=mycategory numberposts=4] and that didn’t work.

Can you please explain how to set the number of post to display per page? If this can’t be done through the CMS side is there a hard code that can be added to the template-blog.php to accomplish this?

In Theme Options, go to Blog and the first option is for the amount of posts per page.

But i’m not sure where you’re getting that [catlist] shortcode, that’s not from the theme.

I suggest using a child theme to do modifications but if you’re not familiar with child themes you can use a plugin that lets you add custom CSS from the admin.
