Love the theme, one question:
Is it possible to have the home page display a portfolio-template and have it be it be the main post page too? ie can my most recent posts be displayed on a portfolio template, and be the main page at the same time?

In addition to the above comment: In other words, wordpress says I should have the same front- static page as my posts page, but this is exactly what I want.

When you buy something here in themeforest, you have a small badge, and if you leave a comment to a item you have purchased, in the right top you need to have another badge, well you don’t have that badge.
Or maybe is a issue from ThemeForest and you need to wait a few hours to have that badge, but I doubt it.

I would really like to buy this theme – it’s really beautiful. I have one quick question. Are there any other options for the home page besides the three (gallery/portfolio/news). I was hoping to use one very large image possibly with slider and some text below. Thanks!

A slider for the home page don’t fit with the design.
So, you only have 3 Home Templates, you can add for home pages as many items / news as you like from T. Options.

Installed the theme today, having trouble with the portfolio images displaying like the demo on homepage.
In your documentation you suggest changing the permissions of the folder cache to 777. Our hosting company will not let us do that they say it creates a serious security problem for the site.
You then suggest to “have in config.php wp_debug:false need to be off” I do not see wp_debug:false in my config.php file… are suggesting we add that? I don’t understand.
If we can’t get our home page to display like the demo we can not use this theme.

The wp_debug need to be false to see the featured image, for default is false, so you don’t need to change / add anything.
The problem is you hosting company. Use FileZilla Client, login and give permissions to your folder, if you can’t, you need to think about it, becouse almost all themes use timthumb.php so you need to give it permissions.
Sorry I cant help you, is up to you, if you like the theme, what you need to do, is talk with the hosting support you pay for that hosting, so if you cant change what you want, is becouse you are in a bad company.

Just noticed this in wp-config.php, sorry looked in the wrong file.
Please clarify, this is how our config file is currently set. Is that the correct setting?

We have folder cache but hosting will not allow the 777 permission.

Thank you for your prompt response. I spoke with hosting company and was able to change the permissions for the cache folder to 777. Images are still not displaying. Hosting company is very knowledgeable about wordpress and said the problem may be with timthumb and the temporary hosting address we have for the site. We are using a temporary address until the site is created and then will point the domain to the new site. We’ll go ahead and get the site to a point we’re happy with and point the domain and hope the images appear then.

I think the temporary hosting address can be the problem right now, so you only need to wait.

I have instaled the theme, two times.
Method 1 – via Wordpress Theme Install function
Method 2 – via FTP
I don’t have / get any errors, I can click Theme Options without problem or any function / option that come with this theme, and I turned wp_debug:true, 0 errors and 0 notice.
So the only problem I see, you may have a problem installing the theme, but don’t worry I can help you.

first of all congrats for the great job.
I purchased the theme, installed it, also installed your sample data but I have a small problem.
When i open the website (for example www.domain.com) i see this page: http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/4624/wrongu.png.
But when i click Home menu item, the url becomes: www.domain.com/?page_id=199 and the correct page appears: http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/2429/rightaf.png
What have i done wrong? How can i make this page my default page without having the url to be ?page_id=199?
Also, i would like to ask you if you can make design changes on your theme (according to our design) and how much is it going to cost?

Hi, thanks for purchasing my theme.
Is very simple, you only need to change the template for the Homepage.
But you can do this, to understand better.
If you want to have a home page.
First : Create a page with the name “Home” and choose a template (Template – Portfolio Home, play with the templates to understand beeter.).
Second : Create a page with the name “Blog” with the default template.
Now.
Dashboard – > Setting -> Reading and you have the option “Front page displays.”
Choose “A static page (select below) .
Front page : Home
Posts page : Blog
For the url, Go to Settings -> Permalinks and choose custom strucute ( / postname / ).
About the changes you want, you can contact me with more info, and the amount you are able to pay.

I think you can only change the custom.js file from /js/custom.js , and change the timthumb.php file to.

Hi. I replaced the custom.js file and timthumb . But it seems like your theme needs also the style.css and the template_portfolio to be updated to work correctly. If I just replace the custom.js file the category sorting doesnt work any more. If I replace the other two files (style, template_portfolio), category filter works but pictures in the post are no thumbnails any more. http://alexbootz.de/wordpress/?portfolio=roadkill the low resulution thumbnail is the same size the frames has. If you can fix that I could modify the style.css and the template_portfolio again to look like they looked before.

If you take a look at the demo, you can see that the projects / everything look like they looked before.
So, the only solution is to reintall it, with the new update if you want ( is your choise ), and change it with your style.

I just reinstalled the whole theme and the thumbnail problem remains the same. have a look at the link I just gave you in the post above. the version before the thumbnails worked fine. maybe something changed in the way how to post pictures with thumbnails?
I don’t understand anything, in you demo site, everything’s fine, the featured image is ok! What’s the problem?

Sorry, but the theme don’t have that function, what you see in the demo is what you get, sorry.
Ofcourse, ther are a lot of tutorials, how to display a post by a category, if you know what to do, you can do everything with a theme.
What you want is more like a magazine theme.

Hola IulianN, y gracias por tu obra! I’ve found just some difficulties using shortcodes, how do they work? When I am editing or creating a new post I can see the shortcodes menu, but what should I do to use them? I tried to click on the shortcode but it doesn’t appear inside the page, no html tag is generated.

I think I found the problem (but still not the solution). I use a plugin called qTranslate, as you can see here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/qtranslate/screenshots/ that plugin inserts some tabs at the top right of the post editing frame. I’ve got two languages: Italian and English, so I got two tabs.
When I try to insert a shortcode, if I’m facing the Italian visual tab, the code goes into the English visual tab. If I face the Ita HTML tab, nothing appears anywhere. The same happens if I’m facing the English tabs: the code appears in yhe Italian VISUAL tab or nowhere.
Test it with the default wordpress theme, to see if that plugin works.

I see that a lot of your posts don’t have text, if you want to show something in the excerpt, you need to add at least 20-30 characters, in almost all your posts I see only links

I put the exerpt text as “1111 ” multiplied by 10 times.
Nothing shows though

You can’t make a test with numbers, becouse that is not a text, one question when you’ll go live with your site, you’ll add numbers for your posts? something like 2222222222222222222 = No!.

well I put spaces in the numbers, not going to add numbers in the live site but it is just a test.
I added 2 different paragraphs now from the Lorem text. The paragraph that I put in the exerpt doesn’t show up.
Here is the text I put in the exerpt: Mauris eleifend placerat elit quis tincidunt. Praesent et est vel purus ornare blandit at sed mi. Curabitur at arcu pulvinar nunc euismod hendrerit at eget urna. Nam et metus vel velit porttitor consequat quis a magna. Donec scelerisque adipiscing congue. In vitae justo eu quam pretium consectetur. Morbi sem ante, imperdiet non tempor et, lacinia non lorem. Donec ornare tincidunt turpis vitae pulvinar.
Ok, sorry, now I understand your problem.
For this Theme and for all my themes, you don’t need to add an excerpt ( becouse my themes don’t have that function, is an old function ), for my themes, you can add your text into the editor, and from the text you have added the first characters ( I thing 65 ) will be displayed like and excerpt.
Ofcourse if you open the template you use ( you can change the number with more or less ) is up to you.
Sorry, I don’t know why I haven’t understood from the beginning your problem, I was thinking it is something obvious, almost all themes have this function.

You haven’t corrected anything, becouse that is not something to be resolved, that is only a option that can be turned on or off, but the design of the blog and the project need to be the same.

Well, the blog boxes style, are larger then projects boxes style, if you take a look at the style of the project and change the width for the blog boxes you’ll be ok
