Shopifiq - Responsive WordPress WooCommerce Theme

Hello,

The theme is double zipped meaning, when you download the theme from themeforest, first unzip that file and you will get the PSD, documentation and the shopifiq.zip file.

Now use that shopifiq.zip file in the WordPress installer or unzip in manually to wp-content/themes/.

The unzip should produce two folders – shopifiq and shopifiq-child.

thanks for the quick reply but this is what we did. the them is insalled now but the theme options dont seem to work properly. I tick “Responsive” for example and tick “save all option” and they dont say the “Responsive” is back unticked again. Same with adding a logo and everything else?

Hello, go to shopifiq/woocommerce/single-product/ and here you can find all of the files we changed to the default single item WooCommerce page.

Tell us if you find the file and if not, tell us what exactly you want to change and we’ll tell you what file to change.

I want to change the description to the right of the product image from the excerpt to the full descriptions.

Make sure you have added the slider shortcode to Appearance – Theme options – First page slider options – Shortcode.

The shortcode for the slider can be found in the settings of the slider you are trying to edit, for example the shortcode for the Revolution slider, with alias first-page-slider:

[rev_slider first-page-slider]

I can see the product images on your site. Make sure you add the images (upload them) on the edit/add product page, so they are linked to the product.

What slider are you using on the live preview? Because I just put in the shortcode for the rev slider and its not the same kind.

We use the Revolution slider. Make sure you have set the size to Full width (so it is not boxed and has not shadow bellow it), also go to Appearance and remove the padding (from 5 to 0).

Okay so I’ve got it working for the most part. I figure the dummy content would apply to the slider as well

You need to import slider settings (at the bottom when you edit the slider you should see the importer):

I imported the first one and the css is not the same as the live preview. Does one of these make it exactly like the live preview?

do you have a change log for what will be in the update? have you seen the small css issue under Product category: the name of product is touching the image

Hello, yes we know, this will be fixed in the next update. Send us your email to support@anpsthemes.com and we will send the new version as soon as we get it ready (you won’t have to wait for Envato approval).

To fix it for now, just add some social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) in the Theme options and the issue should go away.

Yes, with the new update we added a field in the Theme options, so you can add an external slider if you so desire.

To make Revolution slider work, go to Revolution slider, select the slider you want to add to the front page and under the name and alias you should see a shortcode file, which you need to copy and paste in the Theme options.

The documentation has not been updated, but it will be updated in an update or two.

We are preparing to launch a massive update in a couple of hours, which will fix many issues and add quite a lot of new features.

A final question, maybe this already has been answered in this thread, but anyway… If I want to do CSS changes, is it the shopifiq/custom.css who would take lead on all changes? and is it also so that this way of doing css changes is now obsolete with the new child theme? I would appreciate if you could just write a few lines on how to handle the child theme!

Hello, if you do not use the child theme, then the custom.css file is the way to go.

But if you are using the child theme, then add all the necessary CSS in the style.css in the child theme folder.

I will include an extended documentation of the child theme in the next update.

Ok, I tried adding a change in child/style.css but it didn’t “stick”. Aha! I forgot to activate the child theme!

To my understanding, when using a child theme you first activate the child, then you can replicate the folder structure and add any file from the parent that you want to make changes to.

Then you make the changes to the copied file and those changes will stick after an update of your theme?

But, I also have to keep track of new code in an update and replicate those lines to my older files in the child folder structure?

i.e. If I have hard coded something in a child theme php file, I need to compare that file to eventual changes in the new parent php file?

Is this a correct understanding?

Also, I did a quick live preview of the child-theme and noticed that the main menu went bezerk and displayed all pages from the demo data… I guess that I have to redo some settings after changing to the child theme?

Hello, no the menu went all bezerk, because you need to go to Appearance – Menus and select the menu again. The theme options stay the same, but the menu needs to be reselected.

When you activate the child theme it is as if you would activate the parent theme, but now you can change the files and update your theme without losing your code or having trouble with the update.

If you for example change includes/top_menu.php and we make a change, then your file will still have that issue present. Don’t worry you can update the theme without any hesitation, because from now on we are going to write which files were changed as well.

So if you see the file on the list and you want to update, then just contact us and I’ll send you the piece of code and the line number, so you will change it in the child theme.

Thank you. I believe i will have to try the dummy text. Not getting the slider to work and the logo is much larger that the size there.

I can also send you the slider dummy. If you import our on click dummy then you will not get the sliders, as they need to be imported in the Revolution slider settings.
