I purchased this theme today, mainly because it promises to be an “easy installation” – never the less, I have spend a lot of hours trying to figure out why the thumbnails are not loading in the grid? I get an ugly blue question mark instead of images… Any idea what’s wrong?
You have to resolve the issue with timthumb. Make sure the folder wich contains TimThumb is set to 777 and also /timthumb/cache. If it does not help, please contact your hosting provider.
I’ve tried that. And I’ve tried contacting my hosting provider, but my hosting provider says to talk to you. If you can’t resolve the issue, I’ve spent $45 on n-o-t-h-i-n-g-!
If they are say, then you have poor hosting provider
All hosting providers are aware of this popular script: https://my.bluehost.com/cgi/help/timthumb_2011 http://support.hostgator.com/articles/specialized-help/technical/timthumb-basics But yours simply ignores your request.
I am using bluehost, which is the #1 recommended host by wordpress….
Here is the official info on their web site: https://my.bluehost.com/cgi/help/timthumb_2011
Prepurchase question
On your sample homepage you display tiled images that are all identical in size. Does your theme support irregular shapes that merge? Similary to a masonry effect with irregular shapes.
Regards
Hello! The portfolio does not support masonry style.
Hi mad_dog
I cant seem to add images from my media library to my gallery, I on have a DELETE option but not a Insert into post option?
Not sure what the problem could be?
Current version Wordpress 3.5
Thanx
This question has already been asked several times on my support forum, you can add the images only from PC at the moment, working on this update.
Thanks for your time.
Hello, and congratulations for this wonderful template. Maybe, it’s a stupid question but before purchasing, I would like to know if it’s possible ti have on the home page, the masonry blog with sidebar and modules ? Thank you for your answer.
There is no way to have a masonry blog with the sidebars.
Your stuff is great! I was wondering if your in the process of building a new wordpress template for media/photography that is ecommerce compatible? Thanks, I love showroom, hq, and j.doe
Hi,
There seems to be a bug with the latest release.
We’re using WordPress 3.5.
We’ve created 15 galleries using the ShowRoom WordPress, and when we open to edit one of the Portfolio pages and insert the Gallery, we are only given up to 10 gallery name choices.
Is there a setting somewhere that limits how many galleries you can have on the website?
When looking over the database, they’re all listed correctly. It’s really just that one area where it limits to which galleries we can choose to insert (the latest 10 photo galleries created).
Aside from this bug, everything is awesome with the theme!
Thanks mad_dog!
You mean that when you put the “gallery” module on the page, open that module settings, not all the galleries are displaying in the drop down list?
Yes, that’s exactly correct.
Did you update the theme to the latest version? If I’m not mistaking that issue was fixed.
We’ve just checked now, and yes, the latest version from 01.18.2013 also has this same issue. We’ve looked inside shortcodes>gallery.php but there doesn’t seem to be any settings from this file showing anywhere how many galleries are listed inside the drop down list…
Please send your ftp details to my email which is help at themedev dot me and I will take a look asap.
Hi…
I want to use the masonry blog in the from, but is not clear, you said:
-Add the standard posts; to pages? and where´s the module Blog to enable it?
Do you have a video for this?
It is very easy: 1. Create a new page. 2. Add module “Blog” in that page. 3. Open “blog” module settings and enable “masonry” blog style. 4. That’s all. Having more questions, please post all of them to my support forum.
but every entry is a post or a page? and so I have to do the same for every category or section?
well I try everything if I give u access can u do the basic setup or do you have a XML file to import?
Only the posts are loading on the blog. Please publish any sample posts.
Ok almost got it, but why in your demo, I can see the submenu of Categories and I cant make it work?
You should create or active the menu (if you used to import the content). Please read the documentation and if you have more questions, please post them to my support forum.
HI I just bought your theme a couple of days ago. Have you got special instructions for downloading it to wordpress? If so, could you point me to them. Thanks!
Here is the standard wordpress instruction on how to the themes https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Themes also you can read the documentation that comes in the zip file you downloaded from themeforest. Having more questions please visit my support forum at http://forums.themedev.me
Hi!
Prepurchase question. Love the theme, keep coming back to it on TF.
Is it possible to have home/front page just as the one in the demo with filter, but when clicking the images, they open in Lightbox as on the Gallery page? So you don’t have to shut down an image to be able to open another.
Yes, it is possible to do.
Thans, great. Saw it in the demo now, didn’t work like that last time I checked.
Background image: Is it possible instead of color?
Background color: If I choose a black background, possible to choose white text via GT3 builder or it have to be done by CSS.
You can change only background, also you can change the color scheme of the theme.
you should make the masonry blog layout into a wordpress plugin. Its the best blog layout ive ever seen
This probably THE WORST documented Wordpress theme ever. Good grief. Easy to set up it surely is not.
How the f#$%^&k do I set up my theme so that it remotely even looks like your sample?? Your documentation is a joke. You start off by saying that you need to create a gallery and then a portfolio, which you later add to a Home page with portfolio module. Is that it??
Also the sample data option to be imported does not exist.
I want something that looks like this please: http://demo.themedev.me/wordpress_themes/showroom/
Utter rubbish.
H.
Why don’t any images display on the home page? Missing steps in your documentation perhaps? I’ve followed your documentation to the letter and the end results are crap.
H.
Hello! Please post all your support questions to my support forum with the link to your site. Saying that something is not working can’t help to understand or to see what the issue is.
Where can we find such a support forum dear sir?
It is mentioned in the documentation that I’m sure you read, http://forums.themedev.me
Great! See you on the other side!
Sure, thanks
Hey great theme – a few questions before I take the plunge….
Thanks mad_dog, keep up the good work.
Hello! Thanks for your interest in my theme: 1. The audio player is used on the home page and for the blog posts, it supports audio post format. 2. Self hosted video is not supported in this theme 3. I do not have the plans to integrate WPML plugin. 4. The landing page can have only the look you may see on my demo. 5. You can change only background.
Hi, I got it uploaded to WP thanks!!
Nice to hearing everything is ok.
AMAZING THEME!!! Worth every cent!!!! Nice work!
Thanks a lot, I really do appreciate it.
Great theme! BUT! - How can I add a “Gallery” in the blog post? - How can I add Cyrillic fonts?
The module “gallery” can work only on the pages. You can use only available google fonts, I’m sure they have Cyrilic fonts.
Yes, I know about Google Fonts. But how do I make it work? They will only work if I download them in four different formats (eot, ttf, woff, svg) and put them in a folder / css / fonts /? Right? Or replace 39-40 line in header.php: <link href=’http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Roboto:400,700,300&subset=latin,cyrillic,cyrillic-ext,latin-ext' rel=’stylesheet’ type=’text/css’> ? If I replace – it does not work!
There is an option in the theme admin panel where you can choose from the available fonts list the one you need.
I know, but menu text don’t change… Why? I chose this font: default; After choose Cyrillic font: yeseva one; Font does not change either in the headers or menu. English words are displayed correctly, but not Russian.
Please open a thread on the forum and provide your site details (wp-admin and ftp)
Hi there.
I already sent about some weird bugs happening with your work in IE9. And seems like now it is happening again.
The theme is NOT compatible with IE9, seems like your CSS has a z-index problem with the layers on the jquery and the absolute positions are failing at display.
Here you can check a sample on your own showroom sample in themeforest: http://imgur.com/a/ydXHeIt will be really amazing if you can fix it since IE9 still a important browser to have in consideration and you did a really great theme.
Thanks
Tested from three different computers, (mac air runing bootcamp) and two PC work stations. Version running is 9.0.8112
And it only happens in IE9. You theme was working fine even in IE6 (what is really amazing). But this weird bug of display happens in IE. Im a fan of your work so Im going to try to figure out what is going on here and check if it is a version problem.
Thanks for your attention.
All right mad_dog I found a way to make it happens. Seems like it can be something related with the build of the browser or even with the OS. After check your screenshoots I tested on my GF computer (random samsung laptop) and it was working fine on the same version.
Anyway to make it happens I used IETester tool 0.4.12 as a emulator of IE and it happens there if you want to check by yourself. And yes it only happens on IE9 version.
Thanks again
I used IEtester before and it does not work like a real IE, so that’s why you got that issue.
Before I purchase, is there a way to disable right click to protect photos?
Very useful article
http://www.sitepoint.com/dont-disable-right-click/ There are some scripts that do that, but if someone wants to download all your images, that won’t be a problem at all. I would suggest you to use watermarks if you really want to protect your photos.
Oh, this is the item that I bought
