This might be a really dumb question, but how adjustable is the design of this theme? I hope you can answer a couple of those questions, before I purchase this theme.

- Can I put my logo on the top right corner (replacing the “hello slideshow”) - Background image, etc? - Can I add and adjust the names of the categories? - How about web-font support? - Will it show any copyright info besides my own?

OrmanClark

Hi,

1. You can upload your own logo from the theme options.

2. You can add your own background image via CSS . A very simple change.

3. Yes, you can create any number of categories and call them what you like.

4. The theme uses a web font called Merriweather which is hosted by Google. Replacing this with another font would be a fairly simple change. Include the new font and define which parts of the theme should use it via CSS .

5. You are free to edit the theme and any copyright information in the footer however you wish.

Hi OrmanClark

A silly question… I just want the blog component, is it possible to just upload and install the blog without the front page for the website?

OrmanClark

Sure, you can make the blog your homepage without having a portfolio at all.

Hello … your theme is great and I’m almost finished customizing it, but I noticed one thing that I would like to fix – but don’t know how.

When you fill out the contact form and send it off – the “thank-you” page contains the text from the original contact page … is there any way of not having this text show up with the auto-response?

I would like to add information, phone #’s, locations, etc. to the contact page … but I don’t want this displayed once the user has sent off the form.

Thanks a million!!!

I am in love with this theme! I do have a few questions though. If I want a “Read More” after all of my standard posts in the blog, how would I add that? I noticed you have a function for one, but I can’t get it to show up.

Also I noticed that category of a post show up on the single post page but not on the blog page. How would I make it show up in both?

Thanks :]

Hello,

Before purchasing this template, I am just wondering if images in the portfolio pages can be opened larger than 450-500px when clicked. Is there a Lightbox feature or something similar that can be used?

Josh

OrmanClark

Josh, the images in the portfolio are 600px wide. There is no lightbox included with the theme but with a few mods you (perhaps with the help of a developer) could add one.

Hello,

I’m trying to install this theme by uploading the zip file, but get below error message

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Theme install failed.

Please help.

OrmanClark

You do not need to install the package zip, only the theme zip contained within.

Hey Buddy…Question:

I notice you only have a limit of 10 images that you can post per portfolio. Is there a way where you can change it so you have at least 15.

Second question:

On the home page Where I’ve added my skills/categories. Why doesnt my skill show up on the sidebar like it does on your sample site? Thanks.

Is it possible to move the menu bar to the left hand side ?

OrmanClark

Hi, with some CSS changes yes. It’s possible but you’ll need to dip into the code, it’s a fairly small change.

Hello Orman,

i have a few questions concerning your template sideshow…

Is it possible to place the menue on the left side similar to your template “artist”?

How is audio (mp3) implemented? Is there a audioplayer with ui?

Those dotted lines around the thumbs in a gallery… Can i change the design or make them invisible?

Is it possible to make the template responsive for Iphone & Ipad etc…?

Thanks & regards, Sascha

OrmanClark

Hi Sascha,

1. Yes, certainly possible. You would need to edit the theme’s CSS slightly but it’s a fairly small change.

2. There is a JS audio player included into the portfolio items and blog. IT will look similar to http://themes.premiumpixels.com/sideshow/?cat=4

3. You can change any part of the design with CSS .

4. Anything is possible, a different layout for iPad/iPhone included. You would need to work with a developer to have this done as it’s not a small task.

Hello Orman,

Hey, this theme is awesome. Really looking forward to working with it…I just had a quick pre-sale question for you regarding customization.

I saw on a previous comment that you said that the text at the top of the pages (“Aloha! My name is John Doe..”) comes from the actual titles of the pages. Is it possible then, to have a page without such text at the top? To make the title invisible, or just not present?

Doesn’t have to be a feature. I’m fairly comfortable with CSS so if it’s possible to edit the style sheet that will do. Thanks!

OrmanClark

Hi, you do need to physically give the page a title, however, it would be a very simple CSS change to stop them from displaying.

Hi Orman, great looking theme. With in the gallery shortcode on blog posts/portfolio posts, is it possible to load and resize dynamically from Flickr?

Thanks,

Dan.

OrmanClark

Hi Dan, unfortunately not, you need to upload media to your own site. You may be able to do something similar with a plugin perhaps.

Hi Orman,

If I was to change themes at a later date, the ‘portfolio’ posts that I will be only using, will they be able to be used as posts if another theme is used that doesn’t use the portfolio way of displaying posts?

OrmanClark

Hi, posts and portfolios are two separate entities, and so if another theme does not use the same post type “portfolios” then they will not show automatically.

There are plugins out there however which do allow you to switch post types, in your example you would convert the portfolios over to regular blog posts.

Hi,

I’m looking into buying your theme. It’s minimalist and I love it. A few questions,

For my blog, I want my whole content to show, except when its too long I would like to have a “read more” tag. When you break the content with a Read More tag…does it say “Read more”, I need that to be large and visible and not mislead my readers into thinking that my post has finished when it hasnt.

Second, there are a few authors in the same blog, how can I display the author’s name for each post?

Third, where would you change the size and font of the Post titles?

That’s all, thanks, Susan

OrmanClark

Hi Susan,

1. The blog shows the full content by default. When you use the more tag there is no link currently, but that’s a very small change indeed, we can help you with that.

2. You could modify the blog template(s) to show the author name right next to the date posted. Again that’s a small change.

3. You would need to edit the CSS for the post titles. Size is very easy and depending on the font you require, font changes are simple too. Non web-safe fonts are a little more tricky but by no means more than 30mins work.
