Settings will not delete themselves. For something to stop working on a theme something, somewhere has to have been changed.
Just re-add the link to the navigation menu.
i see the portfolio selection in my pages and its designated as a portfolio template. But how do i re add that in my navigation? is that in appearance and then menu?
Yes. You create menus in Appearance > Menus.
Hello there,
A Few questions. One, do you have one with horizontal navigation? It really seems finicky when you start messing around with changing it from vertical to horizontal. Second, and most important on the homepage where we have “sound and picture” my client wants to make it an active link? Is this possible? Thirdly, my client would like to have the logo on top and in the top right corner. I embed it into the image and it works but one the content pages of course the black background goes over top. Do you have any suggestions? Take a look at the link and let me know what I should do.
http://www.eldesigno.ca/theworks/1.) No there is no horizontal navigation.
2.) There is no built in theme function to do that. You would have to custom code it with absolutely positioned links which would be a nightmare considering all screens are different sizes.
3.) I would use absolute or fixed positioning to place the logo on the other side.
1.) What would you do to make horizontal navigation?
2.) Shoot…ok it does make sense.
3.) What part in the CSS could I do this at that would show the effects?
1.) I can not provide the code to make a horizontal navigation. If you are not familiar with CSS and WordPress custom menus you might consider hiring a freelancer to do the work for you.
3.) I recommend using google developer tools or Firebug for Firefox to examine the page code and identify elements and their CSS properties.
I’m looking for in this forum how can I to add a new imagen or new vimeo link to a gallery portfolio item when the portfolio item is already created?
Can anybody help me to find this issues?
Thanks in advance.

We are trying to ad images into the gallery.html page and are using DreamWeaver to edit. We drag and drop images into the placeholders but when we preview the file in Safari there is extra black around the images, almost like a separate box altogether. Is there a certain size(pixels) that our images need to be before we ad them to placeholder?
What is the easiest way to simply ad images into the site? Are you able to offer some more detailed instructions for adding images or even a better way to edit the site in general(if we were not to use DreamWeaver)? We managed to ad the background images just fine.
Thanks!
I cannot instruct you on how to do it using Dreamweaver. I would always recommend hand coding HTML .
All you would have to do is replace image file source in the code with the file path of your own image.
The images on horizontal layouts are 620 X 430px. You can see the exact dimensions by opening the big thumbnail image placeholder.
is this a rensposive site? does it work perfectly on ipad and phone?? please, answer soon.
It is not a responsive site and was not designed for mobile use.
Thank you for your help so far. We have a couple of quick questions. How/where can I change the colors, fonts and hover/highlight over selected text of the navigation on the side?
Also, when you hover over the portfolio menu and the extra menu pops out to the side, how do we adjust color, font and hover/highlight color on this?
Thanks again, DerekAtchi
It’s all changed in style.css. The sections are commented “Navigation”, “portfolio”, etc. You should use Developer Tools in Google Chrome or Firebug in Firefox to identify HTML elements and their CSS properties.
I’m trying to center the main content in a browser… it appears now that everything is off to the left? any quick way to do this? Thanks
You would want to edit the margins of
#contentin the stylesheet.thanks!
Where abouts do we ad our email adress into so that we receive the emails people submit through the contact form?
There is a text field for it on the theme options screen. It uses the admin email address by default.
Hello, I’ve just purchased the Sideways theme, and have begun setting it up. I’ve hit immediate hurdles (such as, why does the very name of my website and its tagline not show up on the main home page?) but in researching how to set up Sideways for the first time, I’ve found this page for the Sideways Portfolio Website Template.
What exactly is this template, and how is it different from the Sideways theme that I just bought? Or, is this something I need to purchase in addition to the theme?
Is this the template that gives the theme the look that it has in the live demo (the one with the cool black background, and the arrow logos, etc.)?
Sorry for what might seem like a dumb question, but it’s my first day with the theme and I’m trying to get it up and running as soon as possible. Thank you!
The version you bought is the WordPress theme. The item you are currently posting on is a HTML template. You need one or the other depending on whether you are using WordPress or not.
Both version look the same.
If you have questions you want to ask about the WordPress version you bought feel free to ask theme on the item comments section here:
http://themeforest.net/item/sideways-portfolio-website-wordpress-theme/discussion/151953Hi Eugene,
I’m working on the template, and wondering if it’s possible to adjust the shadowbox width and height? please see here http://zallow.com/siska/0sideways/wedding.html. I’d like to put horizontal and vertical pictures in one gallery. I know how to adjust the height & width of the images on html, but I don’t know where to change that shadowbox.
Thank you in advance for your help.
You need to add a portrait class to the images that are portrait orientated and then set their height and width in the stylesheet.
Something like this:
.gallery-portrait { height: 430px; padding: 0; width: 300px; }Hi Eugene, so, I put that code on the prettyPhoto_h.css & prettyPhoto_v.css? I’m really blind about CSS , it would be great if you could advise which line number should I add it to. I’ve tried putting the code on line 295 after this code:
.pp_gallery { left: 50%; margin-top: -50px; position: absolute; z-index: 10000;
but it didn’t do anything. Sorry for the trouble.
You don’t need to put anything in the prettyphoto css. You need to add the class to the .article-wrapper that contains the portrait image and then add the CSS to style.css.
The entire code has nothing to do with the prettyPhoto plugin.

Hello EugeneO How do I make the gallery ” big thumbnail placeholder” be in portrait mode? Is there a CSS class already setup for it? Thanks
The HTML version of Sideways does not support portrait orientation images.
Can you help me My website does not work correctly in google drive
https://googledrive.com/host/0B5H4iceRU1rXRW1HejhKOVRKUDg/blog.htmlIt looks like Google drive is preventing the main jquery file from being loaded. You could try replacing the existing jquery file with a link to a newer version.
I have absolutely no experience with Google drive so I don’t know what special considerations you have to make when using it for web hosting.
This is the error that appears on the page:It looks like that version of jquery is no longer available (the version in the theme hasn’t been updated since the theme release). Maybe try this instead.
Thank you very much, the web page is now displayed correctly.
