Hi,
update your theme to the latest version. Version 1.4 isn’t compatibile with Wordpress 3.4 and higher (there are some problems). Update will fix them all.

I want to update the theme without losing all the customizations.
What kind of customization you did? I don’t see any custom code there. After update you’ll need to reset all the optiosn in admin panel, because you now have version 1.4 and from version 1.5 there was pretty massive update in admin panel and only beause of this reset will be needed.

I installed the theme according to your instructions. also installed the WP-page navi plugin. But when I press “Save All Changes” in the theme options. I get the “ERROR” message.

Hi Sjoerd,
you have to change permission for css/options.css file to 755 or 777. Standard 644 is blocked by your server.

Only the strong name is visible in the beginning. If you click on Social Media, you’ll get 3 buttons with Facebook, Twitter and Youtube to filter/sort it again

How do I create a large single slide (static) for the home page?

choose ‘homepage big static’ as a template for your page and then go to options
> styles> enable bg image and choose your image for static header.I don’t see any problems with home icon.

I forgot to ask you about adding the text boxes that are overlaid onto each slide. How do I do that?
Regarding the home icon, I think I just answered my own question.
You can add text in theme options when you create the slides.

When I created the first slide, I added text in the Title and Description fields, but nothing shows but text under the slide. Nothing overlaid on top of the slide.
I see ‘Broward Art Guild’ text there.

YEs, but it is not on TOP of the slide image like in your demo.
It is, but you probably are talking about different slider. There are couple to choose. Use other one.

Sorry, marcin, but is not appearing on top of the slider. I want it to look like your demo where it is animated with text. Your demo uses the Nivo slider and that’s what I just tried again without success.
Default slider on the demo is Slides slider, not Nivo.

XML file is inn the package you downloaded from marketplace. Yes, you have to import it. Just read the documentation from top to bottom.

Hello, thank you for the wonderful theme! My client loves it! I changed another theme to your Silence and it’s working great. I have few problems here and I appreciate if you help… When it shows index of category, it won’t show footer (http://chycobass.com/category/tour_dates/) also the page shows Sidebar widgets instead of Page widgets. Also when it shows Sidebar widgets, it won’t play music which I know not your problem. I don’t know what is causing the problems but I appreciate if you take a look at it! Thank you!

You have to set up your homepage in wordpress settings. You can check this video out from about 1:55. Of course you have to set up your template earlier to use it with slider. You can check out whole video, it should help you with those first steps.

I’m considering this theme because of the sound player demonstrated in the demo, but I never saw it available as an offered item? Is that player not included, is it just for show? What type of sound formats does it accept? Also, the translation .po and .mo does cover ALL the txt used in the theme?

if you talk about self hosted player it needs m4a and ogg files for audio and m4v an ogv for video. Of course it is included in the theme. MO and PO files probably covers all (I don’t get any email from clients to fix it), but if you’ll find something that is not translatable I’ll put a fix for this in a couple hours.

Why not mp3 support? That is the most common format after all. I’m just interested in a player I can load mp3 files into. Its mainly short voice over clips. Is is a player feature in your admin so that one can upload files to it?
Because mp3 doesn’t support all browsers. There is a place in admin panel where you can just paste path to the m4a and ogg files. Player that is used in the theme is jPlayer and it also supports mp3 files, but you’ll need some custom coding to use them.

I tried to translate several words in Dutch languages und uploaded by ftp as default.po en .mo and as nl_NL.mo and .po but nothing changed?? I put these in theme in Lang and also in map languages but no way? can you help me. I love this theme

You have to change the language in wp-config.php. You can read more about it here http://codex.wordpress.org/Translating_WordPress under ‘Using Localizations’.
