I’m getting an import fail on images when trying to import the sample content.. Please advise!!

Have you tried the new update (v1.1) of Silicon theme. It includes the new sample content xml, it may work for you.
Do not worry about some media that do not import, the theme will work properly again.
So… I figured out the sample content – your media is listed as http://localhost – so basically it has no idea where to grab the content. However, i’m having trouble now getting the features tabs to work… can you just post the code from the “corporate” home page so I can duplicate and make changes?
This didn’t seem to work.. not sure what’s going on but I create the features tab then add this and it’s still not displaying anything.

Hello. I just purchased this nice looking theme but when making a child theme for it I noticed that the theme panel settings was all broken. Are they known issues with child themes? Is this just visual? I’d like to start customizing the theme without worrying about future updates. Thx

Telling you honestly we didn’t tested this theme as child-theme so we are not warned about any inconsistence with child-theme usage. We will try to help you and fix all of your possible issues.
The version 1.1 is going to be released today, so after you can update and see if issues are gone.

ok I’ll check the 1.1 then. What’s the trick for setting up the homepage? There is no ‘homepage’ entry in the dropdown list of page attributes.

Except, page it doesn’t need to have Index page template because all pages can be set as homepage.

Sorry for the delay of update because we had to be careful about releasing the v1.1 of Silicon without many issues in the future. So now you have the update ready just re-download files and replace them in server.
I told you will have update notification on your WP admin but there was a bug on Theme Updater and for this time you need to upload files again (do not worry about any replacement everything is right). Now you have to setup Envato API key on Theme Options panel (Miscellaneous > Theme Updates section) and then everything will work fine for you.
Here is the changelog if you want to read: http://themes.laborator.co/silicon/changelog.txtCurrently, it appears that the blog posts page template does not function properly. By properly, I mean it only displays the most recent post instead of showing all of the posts.
The only way you can see all blog posts is if the home page is set to most recent posts. (Settings—> reading)
If you set the home page to a static page, and if you select the posts page as another page such as “Blog” and set the “Blog” page to be a blog template, it seems we are unable to see all of the blog posts or employ the theme of “two-up” posts that you can set within the Silicon settings.

I am working with version 1.1 but the Blog page does not employ the advertised thematic look with a “two-up” style. I can ONLY employ that feature IF I am not using a Static home page. I need to use a static home page and have the Blog look like it does in the Silicon settings.
Is this possible, perhaps I am missing something… Thanks!
I’m having issues with scripts crashing in the theme – when the slider is about to load the second image, all the animations stop in the theme – including the features, latest tweets, slider, and main nav menu. In all browsers.
In Chrome – the features icons are not aligned correctly in their boxes.
Looking forward to trying out version 1.1 today at some point – how do i get it and when will i know it’s available? Hopefully these issues will be fixed.

Hi there. Great theme. So far I’m loving it! A few things to note (which may be released in the update, but thought I’d ask anyways).
- Currently using the blog with right sidebar layout and featured images. I noticed when I click on the full post, the large featured image is blurry. I don’t think it’s my photo size, because it’s the same image I used in the post and that’s very clear. Thoughts?
- I noticed with images inside a post, they did not resize for the mobile or ipad. I did a quick fix by adding .post_image img {width:100%;}.
- Didn’t see a Youtube option under Social Network. Do you plan on adding one?
- Is there an option to have a full post instead of an excerpt?
- Lastly, on the contact page template the search bar is missing border-bottom.
Other than that – best template I’ve purchased yet!

Sorry that I missed your comment because of too many requests I totally forgot to answer to your comment.
Here are the answers for your questions by order:
1) We have fixed this in v1.2 and will be available in 2-3 days
2) Thanks for suggesting me a quick fix, I have added this too!
3) YouTube icon was missing on Entypo icons which we are using so now it is missing, but if you have a suggestion for any icon type to fit youtube we will add it for you
4) For ‘blog with sidebar’ showing full post it will break the structure, the only option to add full post content may be for full blog with 1 or 2 columns, does this works for you, if so we will include this in update v1.2
5) This is not a bug, we have decided to hide the border above the contact map because it wont look good, but if you want to show it just open tpls/blocks-header.php go to line 114 and apply this (replace with):

Sometime WordPress may not recognize templates and won’t show up the selected template even if you have selected, so all you need to do is to create “New page” and give “Portfolio” template and it should work, I dont know why this happens, strange bug.

Environment Setup
1) In order to install demo content browse to the extra/demo-content.xml
2) Import test data into your WordPress install. Do this by going to Tools -> Import.
Currently we are experiencing some issues with media importing but the content will be set up well. We are working to fix this asap

I tried to upload the update via WordPress zip-upload. It is still not working. I got a “Are you sure you want to do this?” after the upload and nothing happened – like in the first Version of Silicon Now I am trying to upload with FTP. We will see.

I have deleted the old silicon folder and uploaded the new update. Now the activation doesn’t work. I got this message: Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_theme() in /homepages/18/d454140808/htdocs/wp-content/themes/silicon/inc/acera-options/includes/theme_info.php on line 2
when I put the old folder back, the activation works. What is going on? The first issue of silicon was really a bit buggy and want to have everything fresh from the scratch. Do I need the old folder to install the update?? regards
Running 1.1: 1.) I’m having Featured tabs, on the front page, on my homepage. But in iPad/iphone it is hard to scroll down on the front site, because it is not able to scroll up/down on the featured tabs.
2.)And the Header in landscape menu on iPad has a bug.
3.)And the footer on the iPhone also have a (big) bug.

Whats wrong on the footer on iPhone, i tried buut it seems to work fine for me at least!
Also I am working to send you the files so you can apply your custom layout.css for responsive design or general usage. Other features, skins colors and bugs are coming in the next version.
