We purchased the theme and have been customizing it. We want the “home” page to load a category archive page but only when using this mobile theme. The regular site has a custom homepage that will not work or translate to mobile. Can you tell me the best way to accomplish this? Thank you, Keith
Hi,
please write the comment from the account you’ve used to buy the theme. I provide support to direct buyers only.
Cheers
This is the account that I did buy the theme from. My PayPal account is named Aspire One and my username in Theme Forest is kbaldwin. Does that help? Thank you.
Thanks,
I think Theme Options / Posts / Filtering / Show posts only from category is the option you need.
If no, you will need a simple code modification. Contact mi directly using contact form on my profile page, so I could send you the solution.
May be this fix was mentioned before, but we cannot see the simplemobile option menu on the left side navigation menu under “Appearance”. Are we missing something? We are running WP 3 .2.1 and installed latest version 1.3 of your plugin. Please advise.
You can access Simple Mobile options only if it’s activated as a main theme.
Cheers
Nice mobile theme, but I cannot get the menu to work on my site. I am using it with the WP Mobile Pack plugin. I’ve checked all the settings and they are all on. Here’s the site: http://www.tranquilitycremation.com/
Hi,
make sure you have Navigation menu / Advanced / Use the same menu as the primary theme option checked.
Cheers
It is checked, but still does not work.
I can’t reach mobile version of your site. Could you send me a direct URL ?
I have enabled the link in the footer to switch to mobile version.
It looks like there are some missing or unreachable files in your WordPress installation. For example access to the http://www.tranquilitycremation.com/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js file, which is part of WordPress id denied. This is the reason of the problem. Try to reupload WP files on your server, or make sure they are not blocked in any way.
Cheers
Thanks for the response.
Hello
There is any possibility to configure the theme to show the featured image on the post?
This will determinate my purchase.
Hi,
nope.
If you need a mobile theme, I recommend my Website theme
Cheers
Can I select which pages/post will show in this theme from WP admin
No.
Cheers
Hi,
Really impressed with the theme. I just have a few simple questions:
1) I have my desktop theme set to show a static page as the homepage, can I set the mobile theme to display posts as the homepage while keeping the static page as the homepage on the desktop site?
2) Can I exlcude pages, some or all, from the mobile theme that appear in the desktop theme?
3) Is it possible to display only posts on the mobile site, without any pages, while keeping the pages on the original desktop theme?
4) Can the theme show/list post categories by name in the navigation?
Well done on the theme… I can see why its a big seller here!
I look forward to your reply.
Hi,
I don’t have very good news for you: 1 – no, 2 – no 3 – no, 4 – yes, if the default theme is set the same way. More or less, it’s just a theme, which presents the same content the other way.
Cheers
Hi,
Me again… sorry… forgot to ask…
How do I remove the little bubbles which shows a count of replies/comments on a posting or page?
What piece of code on what pages do I need to remove?
Thanks
It’s in lines:
60 of the index.php file
13 of the page.php file
and 13 of the single.php file.
You can remove them.
Hi,
Thanks for getting back on those questions…
I just have one more that you might be able to help me with or comment on…
When in your mobile theme as the ‘main’ theme the sidebar and bottom widget menus show up on my smartphone.
But when I switch back to my other main theme, your mobile theme appears, but the sidebar and bottom widgets menus do not appear.
Any idea why?
Also, it appears that the Page Links To and Gravity Forms plugins do not work with your mobile theme – but Contact Form 7 does!
I look forward to your reply.
Thanks.
Hi,
it’s because different naming elements int the code between Simple Mobile and another theme. I can’t predict other authors naming method, so sometimes it doesn’t work.
I don’t know these plugins. I don’t thing I can help with that, sorry.
Cheers
Hi is it possible to set the blog page of a site on the homepage in the mobile theme ?
Hi,
not independently from the main site.
Cheers
I really like your mobile theme I have a couple of questions that I hope has not been asked.
1) I activate theme make my changes specifically custom menu, then I switch to desktop them switcher works well, but the mobile menu I created does not work. I shows all pages (some duplicate) how do I get my menu to show up without having mobile theme as active theme?
2) How do remove post from showing up if I do not use them? It’s either I get “Sorry no post match your search criteria” or it will show any listed.
Hi,
can I see your site, please?
Sorry for the delay I’ve been out of town. you can see site at prestigeatlanta.com
1. I can’t reach your mobile site. Could you provide me a direct link?
Anyway, make sure you have selected option: Use the same menu as the primary theme (matters only if you use mobile theme switcher plugin) in Theme Options.
2. I’m not sure what you mean.
Cheers
I just changed my Panel software for my server and finally got it working okay.
the URL is http://m.prestigeatlanta.com
I have the switcher on and I have a different menu for mobile, but it will not display that menu.
Did you checked the option I asked before?
Yes, I have selected that option and it displays the same menu.
I wanted to use a separate menu for just Mobile.
Hi,
There is no option to differ desktop and mobile menus. Except if you would like to have all pages listed on the mobile version.
Can you exclude pages in the mobile theme?
No, there is no such option.
How can I change the Mobile theme to have the same widgets as the main theme. Right now the widgets are not transferring to the Mobile theme on. The sidebars look to have different names
Hi,
there is no such option (unfortunately it’s impossible from technical reasons)
Cheers
This is market as “widget ready”. Does this mean if I use Gravity Forms with a Gravity Forms Widget that my form will show up and work?
Hi,
“widget ready” is not the same as “compatible with all plugins in the world”
I haven’t tested Gravity Forms, so I can’t be 100% sure if it will work with no issues.
Cheers
How can I implement Google Adesenes in Top and Bottom areas of pages?
Hi,
there is no such built-in option.
Cheers
THIS THEME IS TERRIBLE !!! WASTE OF MONEY !
I’M SORRY IT DIDN ’T MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS !!!
Cheers
Hi, I’m also having issues with widgets not appearing while using this as a mobile theme and a different theme as my main theme. You mentioned that some plugins may not work for technical reasons. Is there something I can handcode in the plugins I’m using so this works with them? Thanks, Heather
Hi,
widgets are not copied for mobile version, because it’s beyond theme’s powers. I can’t help with that.
Cheers
The copyright seems to be set on 2011. Can I change that?
Also, is there a way to remove “Comments are Closed” from pages?
Thanks in advance…
it shows date of the site start. To change this, replace the following code from line 33 of the footer.php file:
<?php the_time('Y'); ?>with this: To remove “Comments are Closed”, delete line 86 of the comments.php file.Cheers
