Why you hide social icons?

GoliathDesign

Hi vld-dmbr,

could you give me details on your screen resolution and the rbowser you used?

vld_dmbr

Chrome, Mozilla – latest. Windows 7. 1366×768.

GoliathDesign

Are looking at the website with Mozilla as a maximized window?

Also – We have just tested our website on a 1366×786px monitor with the latest chrome and didn’t run into the same problem.

Over here at GoliathDesign, we can only replicated the same issue when we’re trying to use a 10” 1024×600px netbook.

We wil further investigate and find out what we can do to improve the responsiveness of our theme.

Thank you very much for reporting the issue.

GoliathDesign

Hi vld_dmbr,

unfortunately, we have not been able to recreate your problem. Please look at the image below, it shows an image taken from a casual 1366×768px 15” notebook.

We have pulled an update a few hours ago which is fixing the issue you reported, but for smaller devices (10” Netbooks). Could it be possible that you accidentally visit our site while the screen size gets emulate by the browser?

1366x768px

We could look into that for you when you tell us your exact model manufacture and the model number.

Thank you.

vld_dmbr

Strange. Just test on friend laptop and everything perfect, but on my laptop that problem. hp envy 4 (1050er)

GoliathDesign

Well, it’s as we said before, we can’t find the issue and we usually test on real devices when a user finds a possible bug :)

Now, in your case, we haven’t found anything related to website problems, quite obviously, as it’s probably not hardware based.

We know that the address bar and the tabs themselves make the actual page windows smaller, but again, as we just tested our website on a normal device, with a normal address bar and a few tabs open everything worked fine.

You should try to reinstall your browser(s) and see if that helps if you really want to do that just because of your theme :)

Anyway, thank you for letting us now that we haven’t rolled out 100% of the issues, we even pulled an update because of your comment :)

vld_dmbr

Open “live preview” and everything ok! Thanks :)

GoliathDesign

No worries,

thanks :)

Am I installing this as a plugin or theme, why does it keep failing!

KBenakole

Kindly send me a guide to installation in case there’s something I must be doing wrong. I install as plugin it fails saying no valid plugin found; then I install as theme then

Unpacking the package…

Installing the theme…

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Theme install failed.

So, what do I do?

GoliathDesign

Hi KBenakole,

we’re very sorry for the delayed response. To answer your question, we unfortunately have to inform you that this theme is not developed for wordpress.

We can advise you on how to install the theme without wordpress, if you have your own hosting (no matter if shared or dedicated).

We’re more than happy to help you out there. Simply answer on this comment.

Thank you very much.

KBenakole

This is very unfortunate, how could I or couldn’t I have known! In any case, guide me, yes I do have my hosting.

GoliathDesign

Hi KBenakole,

thank you for your fast response. We’re very happy to guide you, we would just need a few more questions answered, then we can start off (several ways of installing it).

1. Do you currently have a website running on Wordpress?
2. Do you want to maintain your wordpress (in the background), or are you happy to delete it?

KBenakole

1. Yes, the website I want to use the Coming Soon on is currently running on WordPress and I’m still shopping for a suitable theme here on Envato to use.

2. Yes, I do love WordPress, and no, I do not want to delete it.

GoliathDesign

Thank you,

so we understand correctly that you want to use our theme to show your customers that it’s under construction while you customize your theme in the “background”?

Depending on your hoster, that could get a bit difficult, but we’ll see how it goes.

1. Please unzip the “main.zip” you downloaded here from TF.

2. You will see 2 folders (1 one file saying “UNZIP_FIRST”). Open the “HTML” folder and copy all the files to a folder on your web server via FTP. Please do this after customizing the theme, the Documentation we wrote should be found in the “DOCS” folder once you unzipped the “main.zip” (we put a lot of effort in the DOCS, so people can customize pretty much everything without asking us, it’s quite detailed!)

3. Once you uploaded all files to a custom folder on your server, simply tell us here in the comment section that your ready, we then need to customize a file on the root directory of your server, called ”.htaccess”. This file will determine where your visitors end up later, and we want them to end up on the Coming Soon page!

Thank you, we hope to hear from you soon.

KBenakole

You know, I’m not sure I’m ready to do all this work; this may be a lost cause for me…

GoliathDesign

Hi Kbenakole,

we’re very sorry to hear that. It’s not much work at all, but you’d at least some starting knowledge of HTML/CSS. Now if you don’t have that, we can’t currently help you.

“Max”, the author of this theme sometimes helps out some customers who’re stuck by actually doing it for them, but he’s currently not available at all.

We can try to get a refund for you, but we assume that Envato won’t refund you your $5, simply saying because it’s not worth the effort on Envato’s side, but also because they only refund if something is wrong with the theme.

Simply tell us if you suddenly feel like you’re good to go,

we’ll assist you.

Thank you very much,

GoliathDesign

KBenakole

I give up, seriously.

I just wanted a simple Coming Soon WP template, I seem to fear breaking things if I should apply some of your recommendations.

$5? Well, it’s up to you how you handle that, but you must be clearer on how to use your products next time around, or how they work.

I’m done. Thanks.

GoliathDesign

I KBenakole,

again, sorry for the inconvenience. Now, let’s explain a bit further.

The next time you buy a theme, please note that there are different categories in the Navigation Bar. Our theme is correctly listed in the “Site Template” – “Speciality Pages” – “Under Construction” Section.

All Wordpress themes though, are in the “WordPress” category. From now on, we’ll put information about the theme in your description.

Please also note, that we as a provider of this theme can not handle your refund. We simply stated our thoughts on the idea of refunding the item, but it is still your decision wether you do it or not.

We totally understand how much trouble you got now, and we do want to apologize for that, therefore, if you click here you will directly get redirected to the Envato Support Center, where you can issue your ticket and ask for a refund.

In your ticket, please provide a link to this item’s comment, so that Envato can read over it, or even better copy this out (to your own convenience):

We, GoliathDesign, herby state that from our side, we’d be more than happy to allow the refund of the $5 back to KBenakole to happen.

As you can see, we’re trying quite hard to make life as easy as possible for our customers, encouraging Envato to refund your $5. Please keep that in mind :)

Good luck and, Thank you for your patience.

KBenakole

Hmm, I’m pleased to tears. Let me try the refund option, thanks.

GoliathDesign

Hi Morten_Hjort,

we apologize for the long waiting time. Do we understand correctly that you enter your email address on your website, hit enter but it doesn’t appear at MailChimp?

Are you sure that you have correctly entered all the details into the PHP file which handles the requests?

It’d be very helpful if you get us some more details and email your submission.php to “support@goliathdesign.net”.

Thank you in advance,

Max.

Hi medohat,

we’d like to answer your question as quick as possible, that’s why we set up a help desk for anyone who encounters a problem with our themes. As this problem is easy to solve but quite text rich (takes longer to write the instructions), please contact us via support@goliathdesign.net.

Will be able to answer your question in a very shot time span,

Thank you very much, GoliathDesign.

It’s kind of coincidence that you guys are using the name same as mine. http://simplebyte.net Hmm.. how much to just own this theme entirely? Ha Ha…

GoliathDesign

Hi Sanjeev30,

personally, yup, I find it just as funny as you do, what a coincidence! I really don’t know if you wanted to say anything else with the comment? When I created this theme for the first time, I designed a logo which kind of only showed “a squarish dot”. The dot stood for one byte (one dot). As the design/logo was so simply, I named the design SimpleByte.

End of story time :)
