Nice template but how would I add a modification to make the slides change automatically without having the user click on the dots?

MarcusHofer

Yes, watch the license file of superslides and click on it. There is an indepth Guide to make the slider work automatic!

Default-user

Ah, thanks for that. I’m loving this template so much right now. I’m looking at my site and it’s just beautiful.

However, when I view the site on my smart phone, I can’t scroll up or down…

MarcusHofer

Oh, that should not be happening. Let me check it real quick.

Default-user

Any fix?

MarcusHofer

Working on it, you can expect a fix during the day.

Hi – I have the same (pre-purchase) question as ringomok.

Can the slides be made to change automatically?

MarcusHofer

Yes, watch the license file of superslides and click on it. There is an indepth Guide to make the slider work automatic!

Default-user

The lack of documentation is kinda disturbing.

MarcusHofer

You just have to warch the license files. These are the guides provided by the creator of this script.

Default-user

How do I place a logo in place of the slider text? At the moment it just appears as a huge image file.

MarcusHofer

You have to put an image inside the div with the caption class.

Default-user

Hey Marcus, I’m using your site as a “splash” page, but I can’t get the logo image to work.

This is what I’m trying to get it to look like: http://favouritefruit.com/splash-result.jpg

This is what it actually looks like: http://favouritefruit.com/splash-current.jpg

Can you tell me where I’m going wrong?

MarcusHofer

It seems like the image gets stretched to a 100% width. Can you provide me a working link of the current website? If you don’t want it to be shown in here because of privacy send me a direct message or write an email via info@marcushofer.com

Default-user

Hey Marcus – I’ve just emailed you. Thank you!

MarcusHofer

Please download the latest version of SIMPLEMADE, the major bugs have been fixed, thanks for you patience!

Default-user

Awesome – thanks for your help Marcus. I take my earlier comments. Support and assistance has been excellent.

MarcusHofer

Thank you and no problem, don’t forget to rate my service and product if you find it to be worth it.

Can’t get any interaction on a mobile device. All I get is just the first slide. What needs to change?

MarcusHofer

Download the updated version of SIMPLEMADE!

Default-user

Now it hangs at the loading screen and does nothing. Removing the ‘preloader’ div fixes this. But, still no interaction on mobile. I can click the menu, that will take me to the correct div, but then I am stuck, I cannot scroll anywhere. I have tested this on both iOS (Chrome and Safari) and Android(Chrome and Firefox). Interestingly, it will scroll and work fine while the page is loading, but NOT AFTER it has finished loading. Love the design, and thanks for you work on this!

MarcusHofer

Thanks for your kind words and your bug report. I will upload an updated version very soon, I’m very sorry for this.

MarcusHofer

Please download the latest version of SIMPLEMADE, the major bugs have been fixed, thanks for you patience!

Default-user

It looks awesome, but it still won’t scroll. Then menu works, I just can’t scroll like you would expect to on a web page. Is is supposed to, or is it just supposed to be static and you use the menu to navigate? Again, thanks for the hard work!

MarcusHofer

Yea, this seems to be an urgent problem, I’ll try to get this fixed as fast as possible, there are some things I have to work around to get this working. In the newest update the slider just gets a display: none; when on mobile as long as it’s not working properly.

Default-user

No worries man! Something I did notice(since the original version I downloaded), when I put in my own parallax picture (changing NO code), and use the menu to get down to the ‘Work’ section where I can see the parallax picture, if I scroll, anywhere on the page, the parallax picture is moving. It is almost as if all touch is being diverted into the parallax section. That could be a problem with the skrollr lib. But if I comment out the parallax section, I still can’t scroll, so idk.

MarcusHofer

Thanks for your investigation. I’m glad you like my work, would appreciate any kind of rating on my Theme that you think would match!

Default-user

You got it.

MarcusHofer

Wow, thank you so much! Really appreciate that.

Default-user

Hey Marcus, any time frame on when we can expect the working mobile version?

MarcusHofer

Sorry, working on it. I’ve been really busy lately. You can expect a fix in the middle of next week.

Default-user

I have managed to mostly fix it. The mobile scrolling issues is due to the Smooth Scroll lib you’re using. Also, your header is causing issues with the Responsive-Nav. Changing the class of the header to ‘fixed’ messes up the scroll distance for links, and as a result causes the page to scroll to the wrong place when the ‘data-scroll’ links are clicked. Also, you may want to update your libraries. The two I just listed had updates.

Default-user

Forgot to mention, having the header stay always fixed instead of changing it based on position fixed the scrolling position issue. Not pretty, but it works.

MarcusHofer

I can fix that easily in a different way. New version coming soon.

MarcusHofer

Finally found what has been such a problem the whole time. New version coming in aproximately 1-2 hours! Stay tuned.

Dude, I’m not getting the slider to work – have to press the “dots”. I suppose, if I weren’t an idiot, I could poke around the js and figure it out.

Thanks, John

MarcusHofer

Look at my response to your other comment! Best regards!

Love this template – so easy to modify – and I don’t know squat about html and css – OK I know a little. But, seriously, nice job – going to be a placeholder until I can get the whole site up in a couple of months.

Just need to figure out that slider.

MarcusHofer

That’s all you need to change in the JS section at the bottom! just add the play: 3000 and you got it!

And please don’t forget to rate the theme with 5 Stars if you think it deserves it!

$('#slides').superslides({ pagination: true, hashchange: false, scrollable: true, play: 3000 });
Kartoony

You are AWESOME, dude! I’m fiddling and futzing with the php mailer. But I think it’s because I’m trying to run it locally rather than on my hosting provider. I’m working on a video on inMotionHosting’s site on how to set it up.

Kartoony

I DID rate the theme (five) stars!

MarcusHofer

Great to hear that you like it. Have fun and thanks for your Rating, really appreciate that!

OK, futzing around with the php Mailer. Can’t seem to figure it out.

HTML “posts” to engine.php – I get that. I changed the email Address to what I wanted. But when I hit the submit button (testing locally on my computer) – BIG error message.

Seems to me there is a lot of configuration missing like the email server, user account, password and all that. I don’t see any place to set that in the php files supplied – although I’m only about 1/2 way through the class.phpmailer.php file.

InMotionHosting.com has a tutorial on how to use a different PHP Mailer and I think I’m going to have to use that. At least I can follow along with the instructions and they make sense.

MarcusHofer

PHP doesn’t work locally unless you use Apache or something like XAMPP!

Kartoony

OK, I’m an idiot (warned you) – I figured it out. I THOUGHT I was running it within MAMP, but was not. Working now.

Thanks for the followup

Kartoony

OK, I apologize for being so effusive, but THIS TEMPLATE IS AWESOME! As I mentioned before, soooo easy to customize – email works!!! I’ll be uploading it to my temp site today or tomorrow – THANK YOU FOR SUCH AN AWESOME PRODUCT!

MarcusHofer

No Problem buddy, appreciate your kind words. Don’t forget to rate, didn’t recieve any rating yet :D

Kartoony

Sorry about the rating. I had to do a search on Themeforest to figure out how to do that. DONE!

Hi there, having the same issue. Trying to help out my boss, and I can’t figure out how to get the contact form to work or even what to do with the maps… Any suggestions?

MarcusHofer

Are you trying to get the contact form working on your local computer? Or did you upload it to a FTP server with working PHP 5+?

To change the google maps location you have to go to the bottom of the index.html file and look for:

marker:{ latLng: [40.7143528, -74.0059731] }

all you need to do now is change the Latitude (40.7143528) and the Longtitude (-74.0059731) to your location! http://www.latlong.net/

Photogirl79: I had the same problem with the contact form. If you are running it from a hosted site it will work. If you’re on your local computer, you need something like MAMP (Mac) or WAMP (PC) set up for it to work. When Marcus suggested that to me, the form worked flawlessly!

Here’s Google’s link on how to embed maps into hrml. Marcus’ suggestion is probably a bit easier. (The map thing is really cool, I have to admit.)
