This is explained in the documentation in the Home Page section – you have to create a custom field with key postCategory and for value to insert the ID of the category. Creating custom fields is explained in the documentation in the section Useful Instructions->Adding Custom Field.
Do you know how to add the lightbox effect to a image gallery. Because when i install a plugin it overwrites your version.

Generally, the HTML code of the theme is valid, but if you try to validate the whole theme, there might be some validation errors that are caused by the built in WordPress widgets (they are not related with the theme).

I can see that Inernal Server Error 500 is occurring on your site. When Internal Server Error occurs, it is related with the server settings (maybe there is a misconfiguration that prevents it from responding properly) and in such cases there is nothing we can do, so I think you should contact the hosting support and ask about this.

Hi, I’ve just started to work with your Sintagma Theme and found few issues: 1. I’m unable to setup my own menu. According to documentation B.2 under Sintagma Options I should find “Use WordPress 3.0 Custom Menus”. There’s no such element. In addition creation of menu based on exclusion of unnecessary elements doesn’t work as sub menu aren’t created at all.
2. Fader option seems not to work as pictures do not fade. Just the last one from the list is presented. 3. I’m unable to translate “Name” value from Contact page settings. Test scenario: a. Go to Sintagma Options -> Contact page settings b. Updae value for the field “Name text” to “Imie” c. Go down and click button save changes d. Wait for page reload
When you get back to the Contact page settings the value is not updated.
I’d be pleased for any further assistance in solving above mentioned issues.

to what extent can this theme be translated – localized ,
can the gallery parts/ portfolio images description parts also be translated to other languages besides English , or some text/descriptions that are currently in English must stay in English

I haven’t tested the theme with such a plugin, but as I know how it works, it should provide an option to translate all the posts and pages to other languages, so regarding the main content – everything should be okay. Regarding the descriptions – they are set by custom fields and if this plugin provides an option to translate custom fields as well, then everything should be okay with this as well
Greetings! I love the Highlight Theme and will likely purchase this one since it’s so close to the design we have in mind out-of-the-box.
Three quick pre-sale questions …
1. can we easily move the nav under the slider on the Home page using CSS ?
2. can we easily use a static image in place of the slider?
3. can we easily add a “fat footer?”

Here are my answers:
1. This would involve some code changes in the theme files, can’t be accomplished with CSS changes only
2. Yes – we have included a “Static image header” option
3. What exactly do you mean by saying “fat footer”? The Highlight theme provides a footer with 4 columns where you can easily add whatever widgets you like – isn’t this just what you need?

My questions are actually about Sintagma … I was saying I already own Highlight and am considering purchasing Sintagma for another project.
Regarding the fat footer, I was wondering how hard it would be to add a deep, widgetized footer to Sintagma like the one in Highlight.

I’m sorry for this misunderstanding – I thought you were asking about the Highlight theme.
Regarding your question – I think it would involve some more modifications to add such a footer – you would have to register new dynamic sidebars , build the whole footer structure with columns with HTML and CSS and call the dynamic sidebars in those columns. It is not very complicated, but it requires at least some basic coding/WordPress knowledge.

It depends on which version of the theme you have. As soon as this security vulnerability was found and an update of Timthumb was released, we released an update of the theme (version 1.1.2) to contain the latest version of Timthumb. So, if you have an older version of the theme, you have to either update your theme or just replace the script/timthumb.php file content of your theme with the content here:
http://timthumb.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/timthumb.phpI would advise you to do the latter, as since the latest update of Sintagma, a few more updates of Timthumb were released which include some more improvements (we will release another update soon as well).

These theme requires sidebar widgets to have titles set, so please make sure that all of the widgets you use have a title set (if you don’t want a title, just insert an empty space in the title field).
