This is AWESOME! Can we add the great BIG header on the home page to any page instead of the smaller page titles?

icypixels

Hey Charlie,

Thank you so much for the kind words and for the interest in the theme! Yes, you can add it anywhere using Aqua Page Builder :) If you have other questions, or if I can be of any further assistance, please let me know.

Best of wishes!

Great Work , Good luck with sales :)

icypixels

Thank you!

Hi, great theme ! I really like the way you made it clean and fast :)

Is it possible to have a 2 or 3 colums portofolio like this : http://nsa34.casimages.com/img/2013/04/12/130412074032546499.jpg ?

Thanks

icypixels

Hello there Magicomix,

Thank you for the compliments :)

At the moment, the portfolio layouts are the ones which can be seen on the theme demo. But as you might have already read in the item description, I’m really open to suggestions and I might add an option for having 2 columns Portfolio.

I have to thank you for the interest! If I can be of any further assistance, please let me know.

Thank you for your prompt answer, I sent you an email. It’s really incredable to see an author so open as you, thanks a lot!

icypixels

I’m doing my best :) As I said in the item description, this is only the beginning. P.S. Replied to your email :)

Nice looking theme, good luck!

Thanks AJ!

Hi! I’m a photographer looking for a new web template and this one looks clean and interesting! I have a question about photo galleries and front page photos. I didn’t see any options to have a portrait (taller rather than wider) photo displayed well. As a photographer, about half and maybe more of my photos are portrait orientated rather than landscape oriented (longer rather than taller). Is there a way to easily change this once I’ve purchased the theme?

Also, do you have somewhere in the template a place where people can suscribe to your blog?

Thanks and great job!

icypixels

Hello ckbakke,

The change can be done easily, as pointed out in the FAQ which you will have available after purchase, here on ThemeForest. Here’s how it looks like:

“How to change portfolio thumbnails size? All you would need to do to change the thumbnails width and height, is to edit /smarald/functions.php line 91:

add_image_size(‘thumb-portfolio-homepage’, 772, 434, true);

Replace 772, with your desired image width, and 434 with your desired image height.”

If you have any problems implementing the change, I’ll gladly help you, just open up a support ticket and I’ll get you sorted :)

For the subscription, you would want to use the native WordPress RSS widget, or why not, a plugin.

I have to thank you for the interest in the theme! If I can be of any further assistance, please let me know.

Kind regards.

Oh, and one more thing. Is this theme SEO optimized? Thanks!

icypixels

The theme is indeed built with SEO’s best practices in mind, which means a proper use of h1, h2, h3, etc. tags and so on :)

The theme is SEO Ready for a plugin like “WordPress SEO by Yoast”. Any properly coded WordPress SEO plugin would work with the theme :)

Hello,

this is a really great theme, very unique. I do have one question, do you think there it is somehow possible to position the logo centered?

Thanks.

icypixels

Hello Tobi,

Yes, it can be extremely easy, with some small custom CSS I can provide if you open up a support ticket, after purchasing.

I’m actually thinking it would be quite nice to implement this, by having the option as a dropdown in the Theme Customizer, for a centered, left aligned or right aligned logo.

Thanks for the interest in the theme. If I can be of any further assistance, please let me know.

tobi_as

Thanks, thats great. I will purchase later.

icypixels

Hi Tobi,

I already submitted an update. You can check the changes made and the status here: http://smarald.icypixels.com/updates/

The logo positioning can be done by using the Theme Customizer, no need for custom CSS now :) because it was requested by a lot of people.

Thanks for the interest and for the kind words! If I can be of any further assistance, please let me know.

Have a great weekend!

Few quick questions before I purchase Is it possible to swap the logo from right to left on the navigation? The main pages on the front, Can you turn off the rollover effect easily, its not really to my tastes but apart from that the site looks fantastic!

icypixels

Hello there sheep_zombie,

I’m already working on implementing an option in the Theme Customizer, for logo placement, as it seems it’s a requested feature.

In order to turn off the rollover effect, delete/comment out line 27 to line 83 in /smarald/js/jquery.custom.js . If you wish me to do this for you, as a custom work, here’s a form to get started.

Thank you for such kind words! If I can be of any further assistance, do not hesitate to ask questions here :)

Also using the page builder could this be used as a one page website if desired?

icypixels

Yes, the page builder can help you build a one page website :)

Congrats, looks stunning !

icypixels

Thank you Bedros!

I want to buy this theme but the logo/menubar are not getting rendered right in Safari on my iPad4.

See http://i45.tinypic.com/o05xdf.jpg

icypixels

Hello reinvl,

Thanks for noticing and for the interest in the theme! I fixed the issue now :) If I can be of any further assistance, do not hesitate to ask anything.

Kind regards.

In the portfolio view, can you stack images and video? Or even a gallery slider with videos and images? Love the theme.

icypixels

Hello 4054,

Yes, you can stack images, videos and gallery sliders, but only one can be at large width and the rest will be at the width of the text.

Best of wishes.

Hey got a question:

- How can I edit the HTML of the theme? I want to add a button for “contact us” page. like: http://i.imgur.com/upHCsoD.png

Let me know if you can edit the HTML of the theme in general.

Thanks!

(great theme – will be buying if we can do that.)

icypixels

Hello tornprophecy,

Thank you so much for the kind words and I’m really glad you like the theme.

Yes, you can easily add a button, right near the “Contact Us” button, using HTML and CSS :)

The file you need to edit is header.php and you’ll need to look at line 111-112. Simply do the following: From:
<nav id="primary-nav" class="primary-nav" role="navigation">
                <?php
                    wp_nav_menu( array(
                        'theme_location' => 'main-menu',
                        'container' => '',
                        'before' => '',
                    ) );
                ?>
            </nav>
to:
<nav id="primary-nav" class="primary-nav" role="navigation">
                <?php
                    wp_nav_menu( array(
                        'theme_location' => 'main-menu',
                        'container' => '',
                        'before' => '',
                    ) );
                ?>
            <a href="your-button-URL" class="your-button-class">Apply Now</a>
            </nav>

That should be about it. Wouldn’t take more than 2 minutes. If I can be of any further assistance, please let me know.

Have a great day!

Ok, also the updates you just posted. Do I have redownload what I bought or do I upload from another source? – sorry I’m fairly new to this.

Again great theme.

icypixels

Hello tornprophecy,

Firstly, let me thank you for the purchase! I really appreciate you have chosen one of my products.

The update is not yet live, and you can check the status here: http://smarald.icypixels.com/updates/ When the THEMEFOREST UPDATE STATUS: will be LIVE, you can redownload the files from here, and upload them on your hosting :)

If I can be of any further assistance, or if you have any further questions, please let me know :)

nice looking theme.. good luck!

icypixels

Thank you EngineThemes, I really appreciate it!

WOW!! LUV THIS (and haven’t seen a theme like at all, and GRT mobile menu, that’s one of my #1 things I look at as it is a Mobile world now) I like comment above about centered logo (and menu??) So you can have diff backgrounds per page (if could see the edge of on mobile view to add some depth would be my lil request in update!) Is it compatible with RevSlider or just want to be able to put Big slider at top as on mobile view Home page is only text) THIS DEF a New FAV to put on list for upcoming client GRT Job (even has a Page Builder, maybe a vid to showcase functions soon?)!! CONGRATS -Sterling

icypixels

Hello Sterling William,

I’m really really happy you like my theme and appreciate the work I’ve done. Regarding the logo/menu placement, I’m already working on implementing the following options:
  • Centered Logo, centered menu
  • Left aligned Logo, right aligned menu
  • Right aligned logo, left aligned menu
The option will be set by using the brand new Theme Customizer introduced in WordPress 3.4.

Each page and post can have a different background image. You can also disable the white color of the content wrapper, making it transparent, something like this page here: http://smarald-black.icypixels.com/team/ . On a mobile screen, you will have your content and your background visible, this way :)

RevSlider as far as I know, comes with a shortcode as well, right? You can use that shortcode to paste the RevSlider, wherever you want on the page, either by using a Text Block on the Page Builder, or by pasting the shortcode directly in the WordPress Edit Page screen.

Here’s a video (link is also on the item description page, see the: Smarald Installation Video part): http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=xDwPMIMJsLA . So you’re not buying a product blindfolded, you actually can see how it looks and works like.

If I can be of any further assistance, please let me know :) Have a great great day!

Theme update announcement

As promised and as I said in the product description, we’re building this together and this is just the beginning. The theme is being updated and details can be found here.

Features added: Two Column and Four Column Portfolio option added. Check the bottom of the Page Elements. Also added requested option for right aligned, centered or left aligned logo.

The theme can be updated, by redownloading the files from your ThemeForest Downloads page, and replacing them on your hosting with the new ones.

Hi,

Awesome theme. What is the font you used for the logo?

Thanks

icypixels

Hey Jaynesh,

The font is called Lavanderia. It’s available at Losttype foundry: http://www.losttype.com/font/?name=lavanderia

Have a great weekend!

Will you have an HTML version?

icypixels

Unfortunately, there are no plans at the moment for HTML.

Hi, really love the theme, however it doesn’t seem to be responsive. I’ve installed all the recomended plugin’s, is there a ticky box i’m missing somewhere?

icypixels

Hey there ayrshirecreative,

Thank you so much for the purchase! Are you sure the theme is not responsive? I double checked and installed the theme on multiple servers, all demo websites were responsive. The theme is responsive by default. Would you mind opening a support ticket or sending me an email using the contact form on ThemeForest, including a URL to see what doesn’t work?

Thanks!

Hello,

One great looking theme I have to say!

I could be only missing few things – Google Fonts (or some decent font selection) and WPML plugin. What do you think? :-)

What are those two fonts used for headings and body text? They’re seem to look all right, I might go with them after all. I’ve used Gotham for my personal identity so I’m looking for something similar, like Google’s Montserrat, I guess.

I love your update as I really need my logo and menu centered!

How difficult it would be to move social icons let’s say to the top right corner?

And yes, what about patterns for the background? Is it gonna work when the layout is not boxed?

The last things (which I might use but not sure at the moment) – widgets?

Thanks.

David

icypixels

Hello Bruno,

I have to thank you for the kind words. I really appreciate it. By default, and as specified in the item description ( I don’t know if you’ve read it all, it’s quite long, I reckon ) WPML support is included, by having .po/.mo files.

Regarding Google Fonts, I highly recommend using one of the countless Google Fonts plugin out there. I don’t know if you’re familiar with the WordPress mantra, but it’s something like this: “Themes are used to define presentation, plugins are for functionality”. Other Google Fonts are included within the functionality part, so therefore it would be best to use a plugin like WP Google Fonts – http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-google-fonts/ . You select your desired fonts from a dropdown and Voila!

The fonts used for the heading and body text are a really great combination, of the ‘serif known-by-everybody’ Merriweather, and the ‘recently released’ Merriweather Sans’. Both are from the Google Fonts directory.

Moving social icons to the top, would require a custom modification, which would imply creating a widget area at the top. You can use this form for a quote.

Yes, background patterns will work when the layout is not boxed. As an option, you can disable the content background on a per-page basis. Here’s a page showcasing this ability: http://smarald-black.icypixels.com/team/

At the moment, there are 3 widget areas, in the footer. One in the left is populated in the demo with social icons, the one in the right has the copyright credits, and the one in the middle is currently empty :D

If I can be of any further assistance, or if you have any more questions, please let me know.

Kind Regards, Paul

Default-user

Hi Paul,

Thank you very much for a very quick and thorough answer!

Sorry, did not notice ‘WPML compatibility’ part. :-)

I know about Google Font plugin, but being lazy I’d rather have it in the admin panel straight away. But can definitely do with a plugin. I will most likely only need to replace headings font with Montserrat and I think I would stick with Merriweather – it really is a good looking font.

I didn’t get there were three widgets in the footer – now I can see it and it is good.

Thanks again! I am seriously considering your theme.

Best regards,

David

icypixels

Thank you David for considering my theme. Using the Google Fonts directly inside the theme is an extremely poor practice practiced by ThemeForest authors. The true place for Google Fonts is in plugins, and I’m really glad you’re considering this option.

If I can be of any further assistance, please let me know :)
