I am considering purchase but I have a few questions on this theme and how the current content on my site will transfer over. I’ve tried making a comment on the support forums but it looks like I need to have purchased the theme before I get support. Can somebody please work with me?
If you have any specific questions that you don’t wish to post here, you can always email us via our Profile page (scroll to see contact form on the right side).
Please, I am reviewing your theme to make a purchase decision. Is your theme compatible with ubermenu plugin? Can the main mega menu of your theme be displayed or positioned vertically on the right sidebar?
Few of our buyers have used the UberMenu plugin without any problems. However, sorry but our mega menu won’t work in the sidebar. It can only work like it is in the demo.
But, will ubermenu work in your sidebar? Ubermenu is developed to work both in your main menu position and in the sidebars. Thank you for your swift response
A quick very basic test seems to work. Unfortunately we can’t post a statement on that since no comprehensive tests have been done yet and we don’t officially support it as a native integrated plugin.
Thank you for your response. Your response have put me in a kind of dilemma, regarding whether to purchase your theme, especially when my client had specified that the main menu must be positioned vertically inside the right sidebar.
I strongly feel that a very good and impressive theme like yours should be made to clearly and undoubtedly support all menu configuration of ubermenu, the best and most popular mega menu plugin
We have worked over the past year to test and support many of the top plugins from the WordPress repository or based on demand from our users. Ubermenu never came up – probably because it works well in default configurations at least. Now that it has been mentioned, we have added it to our very long list of plugins to test. As every plugin has countless configuration options these days, it’s extremely time consuming process. Perhaps in future, we’ll have a definitive answer to queries on most of the popular premium plugins too. However, for now, we simply haven’t gotten around to testing it beyond the very basics.
Thanks for the feedback.
Thank you so much for your very rapid, logical and intelligent response. I will be purchasing your theme soon and test if it fully supports, beyond the basic configuration, ubermenu in the sidebar. I am optimistic it will support; but, even if it doesn’t fully support that, i will use it for a different future client.
But, please, i want you to continuously be innovative and be improving your theme, as you have always been; because your theme has the potential to becoming the best selling multipurpose wordpress theme.
Meanwhile, let me ask some closing questions:
1. Does your theme support Left Sidebar?
2. Does it have a FAQ element? or how can FAQ be grouped into categories?
3. Is it possible and flexible for your home page slider to also occupy the entire width of the home page? I noticed that in many websites using your theme, the home page category slider occupies only 2/3 of the total width, while three boxes occupy the remaining 1/3
4. Is your page builder flexible enough to use it to define any layout for the home page?
5.In addition to the category slider, did your theme come with other sliders such as elastic slider?
Thanks for buying. As for your question:
1. Left sidebar isn’t supported at the moment. But there’s a CSS mod.
2. You can use Accordions/Toggles for FAQ section. For creating FAQ sections by categories, you will be better off using a dedicated plugin.
3. This isn’t possible because it doesn’t look good with the navigation.
4. It’s very suited for building magazine type layouts using our blocks, however, it’s not suited for building something like a business site.
5. There’s revolution slider which is best for your /custom slider needs.
Now that you’ve have bought it, please be sure to post any suggestions you have at our suggestions topic at the forums (once you have registered at the support forums).
Thank you for your response. I am currently exploring your theme.
My response to your last reply is as follows:
1. Thank you for the CSS mod.
2. OK, I will use a combination of accordions and tabs or since i don’t know of any dedicated plugin.
3. Please, i think this is very possible, Some other themes have this feature, and some of my clients request for this feature. Your theme will be very rigid in this area if you don’t include this feature in your future release soon.
4. OK. Thanks
5. OK. But, I suggest that you update your page builder so that any other slider outside of the ones that came with your theme can be added as home page slider; and any slider can be expanded to full width, as in #3 above
Can I check with you if this theme supports google adsense and is it possible to put it according to where i want it to be? Thanks!
Yes. Google Adsense is fully supported and by default, you can add it to the header, anywhere within the content area, in the sidebar, or in the footer. If you need even more control, you can use the plugin “Insert Post Ads” (free).
I purchased the theme.
I am having problem in uploading it on the word press, every time it keeps throwing the error message
“The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini.”
Regarding the first error, it’s because of your webhost limits. Use the FTP installation method explained here. Or ask your webhost to increase your upload limits. Also make sure you’re uploading smart-mag.zip file (not the themeforest- package).
For your second issue, please note that support is offered via our forums. Please create a topic at our Support Forums.
My current Wordpress blog uses portfolio, and has a portfolio page on the home screen, with featured blog posts in a slider up top (hoopsandthimbles.com). Guests sometimes have trouble figuring out how to find my blog posts, so I want to switch to a format with featured posts at top and blog posts beneath… and move the portfolio to another page.
Can I create other pages and use the grid overlay there? Or would that be limited to the home page? And can I use a format like that with pages, or only with posts? Thanks!
The grid overlay can be used on other pages when using the page builder – it’s not limited to home-page. However, if you’re trying to treat pages like posts we wouldn’t recommend it since posts can almost behave the same way as pages with comments disabled. To list pages like posts, you will have to use a page categorization plugin like “Post Tags and Categories for Pages” and then use post type page when adding the block in page builder.
How to upload sample content in this theme. I am not able to upload the sample data in the theme. There’s a better importer built-in at Theme Settings > Sample Import. That importer will import widgets, setup random images, and setup menu.
I have already verified my website on theme-sphere.com.
Check for “Sample Content Import” in this section of docs.

Hi there – I want to turn off the social share icons because I bought a plug-in for that. I also want to turn off the “about author” as I have bought a plug-in for that as well. Please let me know how to do this. Thanks!
To turn off social icons, go to Theme Settings > Page/Post Settings > and set “Show Social Sharing” to “No”. Similarly, for author box, on the same page set “Show Author Box” to “No”.
For further support, please create a topic at our Support Forums.
Great – thank you!!!
Is there a way for me to have slider on the homepage, with an option to either allows users to click to be directed to other url or it’s just an image with no redirect.
You should use Revolution Slider (included) for static sliders of that type. The default slider is intended for featured posts. If you really want to use the default slider, you can create dummy posts, mark them as featured, and then use “Page Links To” or “Simple 301 Redirects” plugin to make it link to the page of your choice.
Hello, I am using SmartMag theme at my personal project. There is however one thing I dont know how to change. In the footer, I want three widgets, One of them is AboutUs, as on a Live preview. There is : ’’Subscribe to our newsletter:’’ section. Where do I edit this section, or delete it? Or how do I add email list to it etc.? I cant find it anywhere.
Assuming you have imported sample content, subscribe to newsletter is a feedburner form inside the About Us widget. Check here for feedburner shortcode explanation.
Is there any chance of deleting this feature from About Us widget? I can only see: title, about site, Logo text or image….however I dont see this newsletter thing. How can I delete it?
In the About Us widget’s text part, remove the feedburner shortcode (as shown in the previous link to the docs).

OMG, thanks, my fault….I am blind.
I´ve been using this theme for many years, but it is possible that I close the site this year, but I have another site about wordpress tools in Spanish.
I pretend to use woocommerce to sell specially plugins.
Could I use my smartmag theme or I should bye another license ?.
Is there any of your themes to suits my needs ?.
If you shut down the old site, then yes, you can use it on your new site – but if your old site is still active, then you will have to buy a new license. Also, SmartMag supports WooCommerce so it will work just fine.
Hello,I tried to check my post in google`s testing tool and I am getting an headline missing error in the schema article, waiting for your response.Tnx
If you’re using an older version of the the theme, you may come across this error. Our tech team will need to have a look at your site. For that, please create a topic at our Support Forums.
Can you show how the day “code” times looks like? And how galleries look like?
Please explain what you mean by day “code” times. For the galleries, here’s a tiled gallery example. If you’re looking for any specific type of gallery not present on the demo, please email us via our profile page.
Hi, Firstly love the theme! great job. 2 questions..
1) How do i upload an author avatar?
2) Is there any way i can create a log in/sign up function where visitors can become authors themselves and post there own articles?
Great to hear you like the theme. Here are the answers to your queries.
1. You can use the “Simple Local Avatar” plugin.
2. There isn’t a theme feature for that. However, you can use the “WP User Frontend” plugin.
I’m getting very close to buying this theme – I love it!
There’s a minor thing that I want to ask. Is there any way to make the sticky sidebar to align the top as you scroll down? Like the one in this other theme: http://demo.mekshq.com/voice/ (the “Advertisement” box in the sidebar.)
Great to hear you like the theme. That’s what is called a “sticky widget” instead of a sticky sidebar. It’s only making part of the sidebar sticky. SmartMag is compatible with “Q2W3 Fixed Widget (Sticky Widget)” plugin since v2.5 for that feature.
I am not able to install the theme. This is the error it shows – “The theme could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css.stylesheet. Theme Install failed.” Please help.
That error usually means you uploaded the package – the package isn’t the theme as it contains Documentation, Sample Content and the theme inside it.
Extract the package zip file and inside you will find smart-mag.zip file. You can follow the installation instructions next.
Thank you. It worked.
why my website cannot detect from google mobile friendly tester : https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/?url=www.anakku.net
It’s already saying “Awesome! This page is mobile-friendly.”. Seems like you have already figured it out.
I love your design and the theme. It looks great and offers great functions.
Before buying your theme I would like if you sonsider adding a filterable portfolio website into the theme like in http://pexetothemes.com/demos/story_wp/gallery-three-columns-masonry/ or in http://kubb.wpengine.com/portfolio-masonry-grid/.
Thank you for your suggestion. We have noted it down for future. However, this has been the first time our buyers have requested a portfolio feature so we will need to gauge demand first.
Meanwhile, please note that there are many awesome portfolio plugins available these days such as Essential Grid with countless amazing features.
Thanks for your quick answer.
What settings are necessary for setting up a tilled gallery like in your example in http://theme-sphere.com/smart-mag/quisque-turpis-arcu-congue-in-tincidunt/? I just can find the settings thumbnail, medium, large, full size, theme main slide, theme main block and theme gallery.
Is it possible to replace the original lightbox with another one? Which settings are requiered there? I want to use the free plugin called “simple lightbox”.
You can find the Documentation folder in the package that will help you with the first query. Second, there’s an option to turn off default lightbox. Seeing as you have been testing the backend of theme, it seems like you have already bought the theme. So please create a topic at our Support Forums for technical support.
Hello! Thank you for providing us this wonderful theme. I bought it a year ago and am finally starting to work with. It’s a beautiful theme, easily customizable and robust. I have only one question (for now) related to it: how to translate some theme fields that are in English (such as “Trends”) to my audience (Brazilian Internet users – who speak Portuguese).
[Translated by Google Translator (Portuguese -> English)]
Great to hear from you after a year!
For the trending label, it’s one of the unique string. It’s in Theme Settings > Header & Navigation > Topbar Ticker Text.
For the normal translation, please follow the normal WordPress translation method.
