Hi,

I would like to purchase this but noticed that Safari is not listed as a compatible browser. This may be a stupid question but does this mean that if a user only uses Safari as a browser that they wouldn’t be able to view a website with this template?

Thanks

This theme works great in safari. I added it to the information on the template just now. I’m not sure how I missed safari when adding the template. Thanks for letting me know!

any news on how to fix the ie problem? thanks so much!

Yup. I responded to you by email.

I would just like to let everyone know that I fixed the issue with content getting erased upon saving. The issue was with special characters. I resubmitted the updated version of the theme just now so you will have to wait a day or so for it to be a approved before you can download it. Thanks for you patience!

Love this theme! Is it compatible with WP 3 .1.1? I’m presuming it is, but just want to confirm this before making a decision.

I’m back with another question about the jquery slider.

I really dislike stuff sliding back and forth on a webpage, and have no idea why designers like this feature so much. The slider takes up so much valuable real estate at the top of a website. But it does have its uses, I suppose.

Having said that, is it possible to stop that automatic wretched slider and have clickable links under the image so that the reader can choose to move on to the next image, if so desired?

If not, can the slider be removed altogether?

I love this theme and really want to purchase it, but I need to have these questions answered before I do so. I’m heading offline until tomorrow afternoon. (Or later) will check back then.

You can choose to only have one image and the slider will not slide. Also there are already button on the bottom of the slider so you can click to the next image.

Hello,

I have an issues with character showing up in IE – different characters for comma’s (,) or dashes (-) or bullet points.

Please advise

Thank you!

I don’t see anything. Can you please give me more specifics? What version of IE? What section and/or text am I looking at specifically?

Thanks!

Great theme. I have one final thing to conquer: once I add the portfolio items, how do I reproduce the zoom in/out effect you have at your Portfolio example? Currently when I click on the portfolio items (photos) they bring up the large version in the browser like regular files.

Thanks.

Please send a link so I can take a look.

I’m sorry, problem resolved. A line of javascript had been edited. Now it’s perfect. Thanks again.

Is there a way to make it so in intro-box 4 when ‘latest blog posts’ is selected a thumbnail and blurb of the blog is shown instead of only the title and link to the blog post?

Default-user

You can add the_excerpt function in the code. http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/the_excerpt

got it….little more help, possibly? small tutorial as to what template and where? also how do you bring in the post thumbnail, as well?

Default-user

You are the only one to ask for this. If there was an overwhelming request for it I would. Here is the thumbnail: http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/the_post_thumbnail

Are you serious? I’ve spent enough time on this theme site to see that most other designers have no problem providing snippets of code and more specific directions/help when asked NO MATTER whether the changes are being overwhelming requested or not.

All I am asking is where to put these code snippets with regard to your page(s) setup?

Default-user

Ah, well I misunderstood when you said “provide a small tutorial”. I thought you meant provide a tutorial on this with the theme.

The tags that you are looking to implement go in homepage.php in the div with the id “news-feed-column”. Does that help?

yes that helps! i have i think base enough knowledge for me to follow along via this comment/respond system or if you’d rather email off-line, I can do that as well. i’ll try what/where you’ve suggested and get back with any questions. thanks again. it is a slick design and am so far pleased with it as well as your willingness to help. thanks again.

Glad I could help. If you have any code specific questions it will probably be easier to communicate through email otherwise I don’t mind either way.

for some reason it’s not working…..

here is the code….

<?php echo $home_page_option[‘smoothbiz_four_intro_box_title’]; ?>

<?php the_excerpt(); ?> <?php if ($home_page_option[‘smoothbiz_four_intro_box_type’] == “recent-posts”) { ?>
    <?php wp_get_archives(‘type=postbypost&limit=16’); ?>
<?php } ?> <?php if ($home_page_option[‘smoothbiz_four_intro_box_type’] == “twitter”) { ?> <?php twitter_messages($home_page_option[‘smoothbiz_twitter’], 3, false, true, ‘Read More »’, true, true, true); ?>

Sorry – here’s the portion where I implemented the ‘excerpt’ code.

<?php echo $home_page_option[‘smoothbiz_four_intro_box_title’]; ?>

<?php the_excerpt(); ?> <?php if ($home_page_option[‘smoothbiz_four_intro_box_type’] == “recent-posts”) { ?>
    <?php wp_get_archives(‘type=postbypost&limit=16’); ?>
<?php } ?> <?php if ($home_page_option[‘smoothbiz_four_intro_box_type’] == “twitter”) { ?> <?php twitter_messages($home_page_option[‘smoothbiz_twitter’], 3, false, true, ‘Read More »’, true, true, true); ?>

it keeps getting cut off…..here is the portion fo the code (maybe)

<?php echo $home_page_option[‘smoothbiz_four_intro_box_title’]; ?>

<?php the_excerpt(); ?>

<?php if ($home_page_option[‘smoothbiz_four_intro_box_type’] == “recent-posts”) { ?>

    <?php wp_get_archives(‘type=postbypost&limit=16’); ?>

I’m getting feedback from my client that, when in IE 6 or 7, they can’t see the main slider on the homepage. Any suggestions on how to fix this? The website is gibidallas.com. Thanks!

You seriously think I didn’t check Firefox, Chrome, my iPhone, and my iPad before writing you for support? It’s there on all of those except IE, hence my question. Screenshots with URL in browsers:

Chrome: http://cl.ly/8dcb12f82653f1e84cb9

Safari: http://cl.ly/82a5d1e819bf75817be2

Firefox: http://cl.ly/27f4d3a6727474075b0f

iPhone: http://cl.ly/536cc3d073c3282939de

iPad: http://cl.ly/e53ecc744012b7c55493

Now that we have that out of the way, what do you think is the cause of it not showing up in IE? Thank you.

Have you tried switching to another theme and looking at this image in IE? I have a feeling it’s not my theme.

Default-user

And please have less attitude next time. I’m more than willing to help.

Fantastic looking theme. I am very new to WordPress but wonderd if you had any plans to get it to Valid HTML ?

Default-user

I don’t have plans to update this theme.

Do you have a page template with the sidebar on the left by any chance?

Default-user

No but if you know any css it would be really simple.

I like to commission you to use SmoothBiz template to upgrade my business web site and discuss maintenance agreement but I do not know how to contact you. You can reach me at lawrencre.kazali@gmail.com.

I tried contacting you but got nothing back. Try going to my author page and emailing me the info.

I am having an issue with getting superscripted characters to show up—they don’t show up at all in Chrome and they show up subscripted in IE. The way I did it was to use:

When that didn’t work, I attempted to do it via CSS —and I am not getting that to work in either—

.superscript{font-size:xx-small; vertical-align:top;}

Do you have any ideas? How can I get a superscripted character to show?
