Hi there, Can you import new fonts or can you only use the fonts that come with the theme? Thanks, Keith
Hi,
The theme doesn’t include an option to import new fonts, you will have to manually add them.
could you alter the lightbox to include a download link?
Hi,
Such an option is not available. But it is possible with some modifications.
Hi,
I have purchase this theme recently but have had a few problems.
1. On my Gallery page how do I stop the thumbnails from showing at the top above the images. http://www.bluebellandgeorge.co.uk/not-just-a-regular-bouquet/2. Also on the contact page, although I have selected the Contact template it is not giving me the contact form details that you show on your demo.
http://www.bluebellandgeorge.co.uk/contact-us/Please advise. Thanks Ginetta
Hi,
1. You seem to have inserted the gallery into the post. After attaching the images you don’t need to click on the insert button. Attached images automatically appear as gallery. If you remove the images from the post editor, the thumbnails on top will be removed.
2. If you install dummy content you will have sample posts and pages to work on, including the contact page. Instructions are available in the help documentation. If you would like to create the contact page on your own without the dummy content, you can find instructions on that as well in the help documentation.
Thanks.
However if I add a new “post” it doesn’t give me the option of the gallery layout to select as an option?
I have used the sample file you included with the dummy content and adapted the post which is set up as a gallery. However on the right hand side it gives you the option to select “gallery” at the bottom. When you create a new post it does not give you that option to select “gallery” How do I set this up please?
Hi,
Sorry for if we couldn’t understand your issue.
If you wan to use the thumbnail gallery, you should create a page instead of a post. There is only the slider gallery option in the blog post like this: http://themes.iki-bir.com/socialike2/2012/05/gallery-format/
Yes that is what I would like. However in a new post the only options it gives you under Format are:
Standard Aside Image Audio Video Quote Link
However on the dummy content blog post you supply you have the following list:
Standard Aside Image Audio Video Quote Link Gallery
It’s really strange. If you can give us permission to your Wordpress admin we can take a closer look (on monday morning). You can send the credentials to us via the contact form on our profile page.
Is there a FAQ or help documentation for this theme somewhere?
Hi,
Please unzip the file you’ve downloaded and you can find help documentation in the help folder of the theme package.
How would I stop the gallery from auto-playing and cycling through the images endlessly? It can be a bit distracting and difficult to read any of the blog posts below the gallery if you have different sized images in your gallery that are moving the page up and down to accommodate for the size difference.
Also, how would I keep the gallery arrow icons (that appear on hover in the top right corner of the gallery) always on (i.e. they don’t fade out when you remove your cursor from the gallery?
Hi,
1. You can disable autoplay of the slider by editing script.js line 34 which is
with
2. To make the arrows visible all the time please paste the following code into the Custom CSS field in the theme options panel:
.flex-direction-nav li a { opacity:1; }I just downloaded Socialike theme and it fails to be uploaded. It states: ” The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet”. What shall i do?
Hi,
Please make sure you unzip the theme package and install socialike.zip that is included in the theme folder of the package.
I would like a refund for my purchase. How do I get it? I bought it few days ago
Sorry but you can not refund because the theme works properly. Please unzip the file you download from Themeforest and install socialike.zip that is included in the theme folder of the package.
If you still have trouble installing the theme please give us permission to your Wordpress admin so we can install it for you. You can send your wordpress admin information to us using the contact form on our profile page: http://themeforest.net/user/elemis
Also please check this page: http://support.envato.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/269/0/my-wordpress-theme-isnt-working-what-should-i-do
I am actually asking for a refund not bc it doesn’t work. It works and is downloaded. I am just not satisfied with it and would like a refund
You need to contact Themeforest support for this because we are not authorized to take action on refunds.
how do i embed Youtube video with Socialike?
Hi,
Do you mean embedding videos in video post format? You can find instructions in the help documentation under the title “Video post format” (under Blog section).
I know this is beyond the scope of normal theme customization, but I have customized my Twitter feed page to show 2 user accounts side by side in 2 columns. The tweets load appropriately in each column, but the “load more tweets” buttons both float in the center over top of each other at the bottom of the columns. In other words, even though the respective tweets show in their assigned columns (left for 1 user, right for the other user), the buttons still float in the center of the page and overlap each other. Do you know how to adjust the CSS appropriately to not float the “load tweets” buttons?
Nevermind on the Twitter button question. I found it in the javascript in the header of the template-twitter.php page. It was essentially finding the width of the page, dividing it in half, and then positioning it absolutely in the center.
Hello! I am thinking about purchasing this theme but was curious about the formatting options for photos within blog posts. I see that there is a gallery format for multiple images but does the theme alternatively allow images to be posted within the body of the blog post? I usually post about crafts & projects with multiple steps and would like the images embedded in the post with the descriptive text. Or is the gallery format the only option for multiple images?
Thank you! Beautiful theme!
Hi,
Thank you for your interest in Socialike. The gallery format is not the only option for multiple images. You can add images within text by inserting images into the post using “add media” button.
Thank you very much! I ended up buying the theme. I have one other question: Is the “Gallery 2” template no longer a part of the theme (I saw it on your Vimeo channel)? Please let me know because I would love to use it.
Thanks again! Great work
Hi,
Unfortunately the “Gallery 2” is only available in the older version. Since it was not responsive, we couldn’t implement it in the new version. We didn’t remove the old videos because there are still some users which use the older version.
Hello, I have another question. I officially launched my new theme and noticed a strange issue. On all of my previous content, the theme did not resize photos with captions. I make my photos no more than 660px wide (so I can use them in the gallery & image post formats) so the theme auto resizes photos to be slightly smaller and fit into the theme. However, this is not the case for captioned photos and they stick out on the right side.
Here is an example post where this is an issue: http://www.ourcozycubbyhole.com/2012/10/16/planes-trains-automobiles-2-weddings-a-dorm/Please let me know if you have any ideas on how to fix this without having to fix each photo individually. Thank you so much!
Hi,
There seems to exist a predefined width for images with caption which is larger than it should be. Please paste the following code into the Custom CSS field in the theme options panel:
.wp-caption { width: 100%; }
Thanks. This didn’t work. It seems as though the fixed width is attached to the div for the image. Here is example HTML:
It seems like the first style=”width: 660px” needs to be changed to 100%. Do you know what CSS would take care of all captioned photos?
Thanks again!
The CSS code sent was exactly for this, it should have worked. Can you please try the following? (Please make sure you don’t copy the pre tags.)
.wp-caption { width: 100% !important; }That worked like a charm! Thank you so much for all of your help! The theme is so awesome.
One more question! If I want to have the bottom of each post display the categories (and corresponding links to those category pages) instead of the tags, what would I add/change to content.php? Right now I am seeing: if(get_the_tag_list()) { ?>
- ’,’, ’,’
‘); ?>I do not use tags so I am happy to either add a category li or change the existing tags li. Please let me know- thanks!
Hi,
If you can send us an email with the contact form on our profile page we can send you the modified content.php so you can display post categories instead of tags.
Hello again! I am using a plugin for comments that displays a checkbox at the very bottom of the comments box. Originally, the checkbox only appeared in Firefox. After replacing the following code in CSS, I was able to see the checkbox in Chrome and Safari (it looks like this code was native to the theme but was crossed out when I did “inspect element” for whatever reason):
input[type=”checkbox”] {-webkit-appearance: checkbox; box-sizing: border-box;}
However, the checkbox still does not show up in IE. Is there something I can do? My site is www.ourcozycubbyhole.com. THANKS!
Erika
Hi,
Did you remove the code above entirely? Also with which IE version did you check it?
Apologies for being unclear! The code above was natively in the theme. However, when I right clicked on the checkbox and hit “inspect element,” the code appeared as crossed out, as if something was overriding it. However, I pasted the code back into my custom CSS box and the checkbox started showing up in all browsers but IE (version
. So it seems that something along the line is overriding the way a checkbox appears and I do not know the fix for IE8.
Thanks so much!
Hi,
This issue is related to the plugin browser compatibility. We just checked your website on both IE8 and IE9, the checkbox code changes in both versions and the code is correct on IE9, so it shows properly but on IE8 it is not right. We recommend checking the plugin forums for the issue, they may offer some suggestions on fixing the issue.
Got it! Thanks so much!
Hello there First off great work on the template, really like it. I have a question regarding widgets. I added a twitter feed widget to my page, but it wont show up when this template is activated. Works fine with all the other templates, so I was wondering what might be causing this. Thanks for you help!
Hi,
The Twitter widget may have a conflict with the existing Twitter script in the theme. We just tested Twitter Widget Pro plugin as a widget and it worked properly: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/twitter-widget-pro/
Hi There,
I’m looking to purchase this theme but I would like to add a custom background.
Can this be done?
Thanks
Hi,
Thank you for your interest in Socialike. Yes it is possible to add a custom background.
Hi can i add a gallery but have albums? so i.e one album can be men’s fashion and have pictures in it etc?
Regards,
Stav
Hi,
Yes, you can have more than one gallery.
hey there! love this blog! before I purchase i’d like to know: i read somewhere in the comments section that youtube videos cannot be viewed on mobile devices? Does that include any videos (for example ones off of vimeo?)
Also, can I customize the header to be about 60px taller? Or would that screw everything up?
Hi,
Thank you for your interest in Socialike.
There is no issue in the theme regarding YouTube videos. They are viewable on mobile devices without any problems.
The height of the header depends on the height of the logo. If your logo is larger the menu will be pushed accordingly. If you mean increasing the spaces between the logo and the menu or top section we can help you with this customization.
hello, i just purchased your theme last night and i really love it, but wow it has a lot of .php edit pages! {not complaining, mind you, but it will be a lot to learn}
My problem is i would love to add a background behind the menu bar where it says: Home About Gallery Social Pages, etc.
I have tried two different ways to do this. I went in the Header.php and found where it says this: <!
- #access -> I changed it to this to add the background: #access { background: url(http://cottageonthepond.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/nav-bkg.gif) repeat-x; } (it’s just a rough sample of the background image i want to use and as soon as i get it to work, i will change it to a corrected graphic of what i want to use)when I hit the save button (Update File) it went to another page and said this: The requested theme does not exist.
so i changed it back to the way it was.
Next I tried going into the style.css and found this: .menu { border-top: 4px double #c9c9c9; border-bottom: 4px double #c9c9c9; }
and i changed it to: .menu { border-top: 4px double #c9c9c9; border-bottom: 4px double #c9c9c9; background: url(“http://cottageonthepond.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/nav-bkg.gif”) repeat-x; }
and once again after i updated file and saved it and it said the same thing: The requested theme does not exist.
so i immediately changed it back.
could you please tell me what i am doing wrong?
my email address is: sandypaws AT sc.rr.com if you could please help me ! I would GREATLY appreciate it !!
I LOVE this theme and want it to work and make it the way I want it.
Thank you so much! Sandy
In regards to the my question regarding a menu background image, I figured it out
I just put the css code into the theme options and it worked ! it’s been a very long time since I have used wordpress !
thank you anyway!
Hi,
Glad to hear the customization worked properly. Hope you’ll enjoy using Socialike
