wow looks good I like that dropdown menu great job
Hey bro you have to change something in the links of your color schemes. You wrote hhttp:// a few times so the href doesnt send you to any site
Btw. I mean the links on your tf theme frontpage not on the themes itselfs.
That is just gorgreous!
Kudos – verry nice indeed!
nice one , waiting for the wp version…
bookmarked!
Thanks. Here’s the WP version: http://themeforest.net/item/socket/102809
Most excellent theme. In the description you state choose between the Piecemaker slider and a jQuery Slider. Which jQuery slider are you speaking of or are you just saying replacing it with say Nivo or Coin would pretty much be a non-event? Cheers.
The jquery slider that comes with socket is the anythingslider: http://css-tricks.com/anythingslider-jquery-plugin/. (The one in socket does not have the little page nav buttons at the bottom)
Nvm… preview is back up.
Hi, I like the site and considering purchasing. However can you please advise if suitable for some one like me with limited html knowledge? I created simple webpages but as i said my knowledge is limited. Thanks in advance, Brian
Well, it’s tough to answer your question exactly. I can say that the html code in Socket is perfectly spaced, indented, and commented, so it’s very easy to follow and find what you’re looking for. It also comes with documentation that explains how the code is organized. There are no “hidden” parts of the code – it’s all pretty straightforward. Let’s put it this way, if you don’t know how to get it to look a certain way, it’s built intuitively so that you can easily figure out the solution by experimenting with it. Plus, I am available to answer any specific questions you have about it.
Finally, if you want help actually modifying the code I am available at my hourly rate to help with customizations if all else fails.
Let me know if I can clarify anything.
Thanks, Brian
Thanks – I’ve taken the plunge and purchased! I’m slowly looking at the at the html, but a little wary of the pnp side. No doubt I’ll need advice later
Great, let me know if I can help. You shouldn’t need to know any PHP to customize it to your liking. The files all have PHP extensions so that they can contain PHP scripting if desired by the user, and also so they can easily include headers/sidebars/footers so you only have to make edits to those pages once instead of over and over. But other than that it’s all straightforward HTML .
Does the blog work?
After downloading this theme, I was very disappointed, because it included the 3 PSDs that didn’t have the proper layers, I could not change between colors, or change the design at all. I don’t think it should say “PSDs Included” if the PSDs are totally wrong.
Interesting. I exported my layered PNGs from Fireworks as PSD files, so there must have been some sort of error. This is the first I’ve heard of anyone having problems with the PSD files. I do not have Photoshop, so I cannot open them up and test them. Have you tried in CS4 ? That is the version of Fireworks that they were exported in.
I found the Fireworks files, those have all the layers, that works for me. The 3 random PSD files just confused me.
Thanks for pointing this out to me. I’m going to try to get a-hold of a version of Photoshop so I can test it out. I just assumed (based on some ThemeForest forum posts) that exporting from Fireworks as a PSD would work fine. Still don’t know if it’s due to the actual export or an incongruency in the versions. Maybe other people have experienced this and not told me about it? Seems weird after 180 sales though.
Nice work!
Is there Flash detection so if Flash is missing it redirects to the jQuery version.
I can’t seem to find the PSD ’s. Are they provided or no?
I have just purchased this product, thinking that I was purchasing a theme I could upload to wordpress. I cannot get it to upload, and now realize it’s not a full theme. is there a way I can upgrade to your full theme? Or how can I use these templates with my current theme?
Please send me an email to brianmcculloh@gmail.com so we can discuss further, thanks.
Hi, I love the template but I have limited knowledge on how to install it to a specific webpage that I can manually edit the html. I do not know about php programming all i know is html programming and I cannot find any html files. I uploaded the whole folder into my domain but i do not know what file to open so as to change the basic html coding. I know im not very familiar with coding, im just a business man. Can any one help me?
All of the files end with .php only so they can include files such as the header in every file so there isn’t a bunch of redundant code (i.e. you just change header.php and it is reflected on every page of your site). You can open all the .php files in an editor the exact same way you open .html files, and you’ll see it’s all just regular html inside the files that you can easily update. You just need to make sure whatever server you upload the theme to can serve PHP (any web host can serve PHP code).
Ok I see, yes it is simple. The only problem is that, im used to using social engine and I wanted to place the website template (without the header and footer) between my websites header and footer. Do I just have to put the index.php as a new html code between my header and footer?
