Hi,

I just purchased this WordPress Shoppingcart Theme, I tried to install it, I received an error back, “Unpacking the package…

Installing the theme…

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Theme install failed.

What caused this and how do I fix it?

Thank you for your help!

feeleep

That’s because you are trying to install theme’s download package. You will have to unzip to a local drive first! Inside of an archive you gonna find theme Manuals, dummy file (demo site) and the most important – theme INSTALLATION file.

Yes, I found that out…BIG DEAL!

Hi,

You have me totally talking to myslef. I purchased the theme Sofa SuppaStore the way it is seen and coded in the demo site. I install it, I have nothing? Please tell me what happened?

What I purchased is not what I received.

Thank you for your help.

I already have answered to your question: That’s because you are trying to install theme’s download package. You will have to unzip to a local drive first! Inside of an archive you gonna find theme Manuals, dummy file (demo site) and the most important – theme INSTALLATION file.

You haven’t answered anything! The bottom line, you advertised a Theme, it says, BUY THIS THEME, I DID, WHAT DO I GET, A BLANK THEME…YA, THAT’S NOT A SCAM! I’VE BEEN WORKING IN THE TECH INDUSTRY LONGER THAN YOU HAVE BEEN TALKING! I AM NO FOOL. I KNOW A SCAM WHEN I SEE ONE! THE THEME UNZIPPED AND INSTALLED SHOULD LOOK EXACTLY THE WAY THE DEMO SITE LOOKS! THESE INTERNET SCAMS FROM THE UK WILL STOP!

feeleep

Sorry but you don’t have a damn clue about what you’re talking about.

WordPress theme can’t be installed along with the content because the content is pulled from database. That’s why there’s a DUMMY file (see theme download package) and it has to be imported to WP if you wanna replicate demo site.

I’m very happy with this theme, and keep more improving. Again I need the author support, I emailed you the details. Thanks, GAAS

feeleep

I wrote you an e-mail yesterday and payed your attention to that WordPress message! You have published entire home page content in section of page that is reserved for “welcome message”! That’s just not correct and WordPress is warning you about.
If you need custom/static page to act as a home page create new page for that very purpose first then go to
Setting > Reading : Front page displays [ A static page ]
...and from a drop-down select the page you created.

Great, I’m glad to read it does!

Hi,

I want to know whether this theme supports user registration?If so, how can I set it up? THX!

feeleep

It has been mentioned many times before … registration is not required with this theme. You can enable registration if you like but it’ll not have any effect on e-commerce part. People can buy without any obligation to register and all of shipping details are provided upon checkout.

Thanks very much! It’s my fault not searching it carefully.

feeleep

No problem :)

Hi, I’ve been using the suppastore theme and I really like it – I have an issue where my product description shows on the page thumbnail however when you click on the product the full description is not able to be seen. can you please advise, ive been through all of the settings and cannot see how to fix it. please help www.dynamicventure.ie

feeleep

By inspection of your website front-end I’ve noticed that Colorbox plugin is not included to Checkout page. At this point I’m not sure what’s causing that problem.

As for an item description text missing – that’s very true but once again I can’t know why. So feel free to create a temp Admin account for me and I’ll take a look (use my private email to send login details).

Hi, I’m interested in buying the Suppastore theme for an e-commerce site project. Anyway, I need to know something before purchasing the theme:

- Is Suppastore compatible with Wordpress 3.5?

- Is possibile to add other different payment methods? I’m referring to credit card (without Paypal), bank transfer and stuff like that.

- Is it possible to add some “custom fileds” to the e-commerce section? For example, I’d like to add a field for the customization of the football shirts (like a player number and name to add)

Thanks a lot, best regards

Luca

feeleep

OK, here we go…

1. Yes, it is WP 3.5 compatible
2. It is but implementation is required. There are literally hundreds of different payment gateways and it’s impossible to predict which is preferred by users
3. By default product customization is not possible

Default-user

Thank you very much for your replies. From your answers i understand that is possible to integrate what I need, but it takes some tweaking. Would it be possible to have help from you for these integrations? Oh and just another question: are theme updates free? Thank you again for your great support, best regards

Luca

feeleep

You welcome! Unfortunately, my schedule is booked 2 and a half months in advance and I can’t take more side-work. But I’m sure you’ll be able to find developer at http://jobs.freelanceswitch.com .

Theme updates are free and you can always download the latest release from Downloads section/tab of your Themeforest account page.

Hi,

I’m receiving the same error a previous user was getting. When an item is added to the cart it redirects to a blank page. “wp-content/themes/sofa_suppastore/cart_handler.php” Did you ever find a solution for this error?

Help?

Thanks in advance!

feeleep

Is your theme up to date? Please refer to Changelog that can be found right at the top of “Item details” tab and be sure to update accordingly. For a case the problem continues to persist – drop me a private message and include temp Admin account access credentials.

feeleep

Id your theme up to date? Please take a look at theme’s Changelog and update accordingly!

Figured it out. Maintenance plugin conflict. As soon as i deactivated it, it worked fine.

feeleep

Holy smoke! That’s what usually makes a lot of troubles because theme files are not accessible by PayPal if Maintenance mode in ON.

Hi there,

I’m not sure why, but I’m unable to add a hyperlink into each slide in your slider. Once I update each featured image with the link I want, it doesn’t actually update it, and strips the links from the image.

Any assistance you can provide would be a great help. I can provide access to my domain as well.

Regards

feeleep

I can’t find your name on the list of theme buyers. Moreover, I can’t know which version of my theme you have downloaded and where exactly but I suppose it’s outdated.
Theme buyers always have an access to the latest version.

Default-user

I’m a web developer doing the site for someone else, and they provided me with the theme. They are using version 1.0.

I’ve solved the slider issue I was having, but my client has brought to my attention that when you select multiple sizes of a specific product it shows up in the cart as 1 item, instead of 2 or more. How can I rectify this?

Thanks

feeleep

OK then … but providing at least TF username of your client would help me and yourself. Please do it next time you write!

Hopefully you are aware of the fact that single product variations must differ by Size attribute. I’ve seen many people use default asterisk for 2 or more product sizes which is incorrect.
So, be sure that product sizes differ from each other otherwise WP will “think” that there’s only one product without variations.
You can see everything working just right at theme’s demo site.

Hi there, sorry if you have already been ask something along my lines, but if i were to buy this theme could i sell things other then trainers?

I am looking to sell pipes of different colours and I think that this would be absolutely fine if i could change ‘shop by brands’ into ‘shop by colours’ (As we only supply our brand)

Also Size wont be needed but would it be possible to change this to Strength instead? Are these Select able tick boxes changeable?

It would be great if you could let me know.

Thanks

feeleep

Yeap, you could sell pipes, I see no problem with that in context of this theme. And, of course, title above the list of brands can be changed to whatever you like; it’s a widget (custom menu)!

As for making Size attribute read Strength instead, well, this one has been mentioned multiple times…
Essentially, there’s no problem to change it on front-end but back-end (Admin) will continue to read Size as well as reports sent by PayPal. It might be confusing for buyers so it’s up to you to decide.

Hi, this is a pre-buy question, there is a way where I can view the same product with two versions? I mean, a t-shirt can be elegible for color red, black, blue on the same product post? Thanks

feeleep
If well understood, beside product’s Size attribute you need another one that will introduce color of the product as well. Otherwise: one product with multiple variations relying on both size and color.
As you can see on theme’s demo site, Size is the only variable. If you want to assign color to each of product sizes then its number grows exponentially because:

Size
--------------------
Small
Medium
Large
...has to become:

Size
--------------------
Small Red
Small Blue
Small Green
Medium Red
Medium Blue
Medium Green
Large Red
Large Blue
Large Green

Hopefully it does make sense.
On the other side you can create 3 different products each of which will differ in color so you’ll have “T-shirt Red”, “T-shirt Blue” and “T-shirt Green” products.

Hi, I have the download shop theme which is just brilliant! I need to build another site to include physical products also so was looking at this theme. Ive tried e-commerce and other cart but this just looks so much better presented… What commerce script is this based on or is it completely custom to the theme? Do you have a demo of the admin area for things like delivery options etc that I could look at?

Many thanks, great themes.

feeleep

This theme doesn’t use any plugin for its e-commerce side, you got it right – it is custom built. I usually do not provide a public Admin access to my theme’s demo sites ( as it may lead to disaster ) but I could make additional screen shots if you want. Simply send me a private message, provide an info on what you are interested in and I’ll do my best to hand it over to you.

Hi there,

Is there any reason why the shopping cart doesn’t show all the items I’ve selected in the total number of items? I’ve attached a screenshot to further illustrate my problem.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/d9au0g0d65qzaq7/Screen%20Shot%202013-02-06%20at%202.50.55%20PM.png
feeleep

1. After looking at the screenshot I still can’t figure out what’s wrong mate… There’s 5×18 bux T-shirt which gives you the total of $90 (+13% tax). You have 5 pieces of one item in the basket (size M). If one of these is of size S, you’d have 5 pieces of 2 different items.

2. I can’t find your name on the list of theme buyers so please be sure to login under different name next time or ask your client to provide username/password.

Default-user

Sorry I should have made my question more clear. I’m curious as to why if I select 5 of the same item it doesn’t show as 5 items in my shopping cart? Shouldn’t it show the total items as 5 instead of 1.

I’m working with this theme for a client of mine. They provided me with the theme, and now I’m working with it. Regards

feeleep

OK, when you get to Checkout page, how many rows you can see? Items differ and can be counted by size attribute. But if you find it wrong, it can be “corrected” toward your needs. How?
“header.php”, lines #307 thru #314…
Items are counted by the number of different cookies. If you check quantity per cookie and sum it up you’ll get that number.

Hi Feeleep, is this theme “responsive”? In other words, will it adapt when viewed on tablet or phone? If not, can you recommend a solution to make it so?

feeleep

No, the layout is fixed (see theme’s page sidebar, theme specs). As for how to eventually make it responsive … well, I’ve seen a couple of plugins but can’t say much about, take a look at this article : http://goo.gl/Xa9rD

Hi there,

I’m continuing the thread from a few posts ago, regarding the checkout total number of items. You said: —“header.php”, lines #307 thru #314… Items are counted by the number of different cookies. If you check quantity per cookie and sum it up you’ll get that number.— but I’m just curious as to how I would do that. Would I change the $items_arr values? Sorry for the persistent back and forth.

feeleep

OK, here’s what I thought:

BEFORE:

$basket_price_total = 0;
if( isset( $_COOKIE[ 'sofasuppastore' ] ) ) {
    foreach( $_COOKIE[ 'sofasuppastore' ] as $name => $value ) {
        $items_arr = explode( '~', $value );
        $item_price_total = $items_arr[ 2 ] * $items_arr[ 3 ];
        $basket_price_total = $basket_price_total + $item_price_total;
    }
}
$basket_count_items = 0;
if( isset( $_COOKIE[ 'sofasuppastore' ] ) ) $basket_count_items = count( $_COOKIE[ 'sofasuppastore' ] );
$final_str_items = ( $basket_count_items == 1 ) ? __( "item", "sofa_suppastore" ) : __( "items", "sofa_suppastore" );
echo '<a id="mb" href="' . get_permalink( intval( get_option( 'checkout' ) ) ) . '">';
echo __( "Your Basket", "sofa_suppastore" ) . ': ' . $entrycurrency . ' ' . number_format( $basket_price_total, 2, '.', ',' ) . ' (' . $basket_count_items . ' ' . $final_str_items . ')';
echo '</a>';

AFTER:

$basket_price_total = 0;
$basket_count_items = 0;
if( isset( $_COOKIE[ 'sofasuppastore' ] ) ) {
    foreach( $_COOKIE[ 'sofasuppastore' ] as $name => $value ) {
        $items_arr = explode( '~', $value );
        $item_price_total = $items_arr[ 2 ] * $items_arr[ 3 ];
        $basket_count_items += $items_arr[ 2 ];
        $basket_price_total = $basket_price_total + $item_price_total;
    }
}
$final_str_items = ( $basket_count_items == 1 ) ? __( "item", "sofa_suppastore" ) : __( "items", "sofa_suppastore" );
echo '<a id="mb" href="' . get_permalink( intval( get_option( 'checkout' ) ) ) . '">';
echo __( "Your Basket", "sofa_suppastore" ) . ': ' . $entrycurrency . ' ' . number_format( $basket_price_total, 2, '.', ',' ) . ' (' . $basket_count_items . ' ' . $final_str_items . ')';
echo '</a>';

Please note… in order to make things as clear as possible I have replaced entire code block between lines #307 and #320.

I have a question about sales tax. My customer wants the checkout to apply sales tax only for the following five states; VA, TN, SC, GA, NC the other 45 states are zero sales tax. Can this be done and if so how?

Regards,

Max Smith

feeleep

As I recall PayPal allows you to set up tax per federal state so it looks like you gonna have to do it via PPal’s account. On the other side, be sure to enter zero into theme Options tax value. That should be working.

Maxbsmithjr

Thank you for your response. My client does not use PayPal for processing. Is there any way to establish sales tax within your theme?

I am happy to pay for custom programming.

They just need to establish sales tax for the 5 states I mentioned in my original post.

Regards,

Max

feeleep

Well, that might be a problem. Theme’s checkout page doesn’t collect shipping info, it’s supposed to be done at the payment gateway end (it’s far more secure), so the real question is how to apply the tax?
Even if you find developer (sorry, my own schedule is booked by the end of April) he or she will be faced with the same problem. Hence I don’t know which payment gateway your client is about to go for I can’t say much but only make a guess that it should have an option to allow users to set the tax per state.

A couple of questions regarding the navigation bar under the logo.

It there any way of making it longer? Currently if i add too many categories it start a 2nd row, i would like them all on one row.

Also, is it possible to centre the navigation bar? It currently sits to the left.

Many thanks in advance

feeleep

You can’t make it wider because it is supposed to fit to a given width (930px). But you could reduce padding and font size of menu items. Other than that it’s good idea to reorganize your menu a little bit … generally speaking people don’t like cluttered and complicated navigation.

Open “style.css” for edit and go to line #274. What you can see there is the following:

.navigation li a {
    background-color: #D7D7D7;
    border-radius: 8px 8px 8px 8px;
    display: block;
    line-height: 1.2;
    padding: 7px 15px;
}
So in order to reduce left and right padding and font-size you could use something like this:

.navigation li a {
    background-color: #D7D7D7;
    border-radius: 8px 8px 8px 8px;
    display: block;
    line-height: 1.2;
    padding: 7px 10px;
    font-size: 12px;
}

As for how to center unordered list take a look at this : http://goo.gl/uHoC1

2 Problems:

1. The price when added to cart appears to be $0 when its listed as $5.50.

2. Modifying cart items (removing/editing quantity) results as an error for the customer and give firefox errors asking if they want to refresh the page unlimited number of times. So client has to re navigate to the webpage.

Thanks A Lot.

It’s obvious that you forgot to update Colorbox plugin. Go to Dashboard, Plugins > Installed plugins
find Colorbox on the list and update automatically. Everything should be fine after you do so.
On a side note, don’t update Epicwin (Newsleter plugin) even though it’ll read that newer version is found.

Hello, the theme is great. I have a few questions. - Because in my country there is no PayPal yet (!) is it possible to temporarily remove PayPal button and when PayPal comes bring it back? - How can I add the ‘Phone’ field to be mandatory (*) in the shipping data form? Thanks!

feeleep

Yes, it is possible to remove PayPal button…

1. open “checkout.php” for edit and scroll down to the line #240

2. delete lines #240, #241 and #242

3. Re-upload “checkout.php” to the server if edited on local machine

At the time PayPal gets available in your country simply use original “checkout.php”.
As for making Phone field mandatory, please have a look at “mail_order.php”, lines #158 thru #184. It should give you idea how simple validation works with other mandatory input fields.
