Thank you for the new updates to the QNS plugin. Could you please please add to it the option to block out dates? Not being able to edit the calendar availability is presenting a problem for hotels with inventory in the hundreds.

Many hotels work with Agoda or Expedia and for online sales they allocate certain amount of rooms to each website to sell. There is no good way to track all those separate inventories with QNS, so when I’m using this for our website with 100+ rooms it’s hard to reflect true availability in the calendar. Not all the hotel’s rooms are tracked in the wordpres site, we have a system called Fidelio that does all that for the front desk.

What we need is a way to just block out dates, so they can’t be booked on the website at all, and show in the Calendar widget the correct color that they’re unavailable.

Right now visitors keep trying to book rooms that aren’t available and the only way to block them out is to make fake reservations and that confuses the staff.

Thanks for all your hard work on updating the QNS plugin. Can you please see if it’s possible to make widget submissions go directly to Step-2 of the booking order?

I’m seeing that visitors are having to go the extra click to reconfirm ‘Check Availability’ on text sent to the STEP 1 section. If they’re coming from the front page or widget it should just go straight to step 2 when they click, yes? :nerdy:

We’re looking into this at the moment TehStig, still trying to figure out the best way of doing things.

The only problem with going direct to step 2 is there is no “Rooms” selection on the homepage and widget booking form.

As mentioned we’re going to be refining the plugin a lot of the coming months so no doubt we’ll come up with some kind of solution :)

1.) You can but you will need to modify the theme code to do this

2.) Not in the current slideshow, you’ll need to check with the authors of Revolution slider to find out if it’s compatible with Video

3.) It depends, if you only need to translate to a single language CodeStyling will do the job, but if you need multiple languages yes you will need to use WPML

I need to come up with a solution for a large lodge, so just the 1 property. Could this be modified easily for this? I need to remove “Adults” and “Children” and “rooms” and on the chose date part display 6 months so the customer can see bookings / availability for a full 6 months easily?

There’s no simple way to remove the “Adults”, “Children” and “Rooms” selection at the moment I’m afraid, so to do this you would need to modify the code. Easily checking room availability for 6 months shouldn’t be a problem though.

How easy would it be to add a feature like for customers to book ekstras for their room?

Such as after selecting room, they can add 10$ for WIFI, or 5$ for breakfast etc.

Nice theme. Is it possible to remove the booking form on the front page? Also, is it possible to customise the fields on the booking form e.g. remove kids and use only one day for appointments?

Yes the homepage booking form can be easily removed using the theme options.

There’s an option to remove children from the booking form, but currently single day bookings aren’t possible. We’ll most likely add this as an option at some point though.

You could try using each hotel room as a separate hotel, so I guess yes it’d be possible although the theme isn’t specifically designed for being used with multiple hotels.

Booking Step 1 allows me to choose my date, also number of guests etc. It also lets me pick how many rooms. The options that it gives are 1 room, 2 rooms, or 3 rooms.

I don’t have any 3 room options so I’d like to remove it.

Also even if they choose the “3 room” option and select the dates and hit continue, my Accommodation with 2 rooms shows up. How can I fix all these issues?

The room selection isn’t for booking rooms/units with multiple bedrooms, it allow guests to book more than one room in a single booking, for example 1 room for the parents and 1 for the kids, does that make sense? :)

You can reduce the number of bookable rooms in the plugin options.

yeah it makes sense now that you’ve explained it, but to the average person who books, I imagine their thought process might be similar to mine. That is, that rooms per unit versus rooms per booking.

Selecting the number of rooms per booking is a fairly standard feature which a lot of hotel websites have.

Go to “QNS Booking” and edit the value for “Maximum rooms per booking”.

In the next update we’ll change it so that if the “Maximum rooms per booking” is set to 1 the rooms field is removed :)

I just installed this theme like a week ago. Using the themeforest download. But, I did as you suggested and redownloaded it and analyzed the files and the timestamps are identical. I went ahead and uploaded it anyway as per the directions you sent, and nothing has changed, still 1.0.2. What version is the newest? I also tried updating via WP plugin update and it said it was the latest.

Just did. Sucks you have to register to your site and hunt for verification codes from past downloads, just make something that works and has been tested before selling it. If I would have known the headache, I wouldn’t have purchased. In too deep now.

If you’re logged into the account you created it with you’ll be able to view it, doesn’t matter if it’s private or public.

I think the ticket wasn’t submitted correctly because I can’t see any tickets from you. I’d recommend trying to post it again.

Hi,

I’d like to use this theme for a holiday home.

What sort of restrictions can be put on the booking system?

The holiday home will only be available to book from Saturday to Saturday, and it would be terrible if they paid a deposit for 3 nights mid-week, only to find out later that they need to pay for a whole week!

NOTE: I am NOT using the booking plugin as I have to link to an external booking engine. I asked a pre sales question and you said it would be possible to also add a button to the center of the homepage that could link to a booking facility. Could I also get some advice on how to add this as well.

You will need to activate the booking plugin for the [accommodation] shortcode to work.

If you need to link to an external booking system I’d recommend using CSS to hide the current booking system.

We’ll look into adding a “catalog” mode which disables the booking system completely in a future update.

Hi quitenicestuff. We too are desperate to block out dates, could you please let us know when we will be able to do this? we’ve used third party calenders and they all look shocking! This really is a very beautiful theme, but as TehStig has said ‘Not being able to edit the calendar availability is presenting a problem’ for us a serious problem. Stunning theme though :)
