Hi. I am sure this is a basic question, but I am new and very much like your template. My question is: I understand that this is not a WordPress template, but I want to use it as the holding page while I build my WordPress site. I know I have to create an index.html folder in my file manager, but then do I just paste in the HTML code? Sorry…just having some problems finding the right answer. Thanks.

Hello daniel,

Unfortunately I cannot identify you as a customer of this template, therefor I cannot offer any support unless you can prove different. Thanks for understanding,

Alex / QBKL

Ok, my question was before I purchased it so that I could purchase it—obviously don’t want to buy something I can’t use. I am new, and just don’t 100% understand whether HTML files can be used as holding pages for WordPress blogs. That’s all I was really asking. If I can, I will be purchasing it today. If not, ok.

Daniel, there are a few minor steps that you’d need to take in order to use this (even if uneditable through WP’s system) as a landing page/theme. As a customer, I can guide you through those steps, so that everything regarding editing the template will still be based on its documentation, but it will function as a WP theme.

Thanks. Purchased. Will play with it a bit—don’t want to change the design, just will obviously need to change the text/contact information/upload a logo.

GuerinCo Purchased

Hi,

Is the newsletter working or it’s just for the show?

That’s a bummer. What kind of newsletter system could work? I looked at Mailchimp but it doesn’t look like it can be integrated.

Care to reply? I am losing subscribers as I write this.

Hi,

Mailchimp, and any other mailing service provide form customization options and most times, all you have to do, with a little bit of knowledge is to adapt their forms to the ones included in templates. This means moving around some classes and styling from the template form to the mailing service form. Integration is possible virtually with any design.

http://kb.mailchimp.com/article/tips-for-customizing-your-signup-forms

Also, we are sorry that you are experiencing this with the template, but nowhere in the template’s info was specified that it includes a functional newsletter or email collecting script. It’s marked as HTML template, does not include any PHP files and the FAQ (that unfortunately very few people take time to read) clearly states that the newsletter is just there for further integration:

Nonetheless, if you do get your MailChimp account set up and a form that collects emails (thus similar to the one included in the template in terms of fields), we will guide you through the set up once you have all the information at hand.

[Important information]

The launch of jQuery 1.9.0 has created a big impact on quite a few of the most popular jQuery plugins around, mainly lightbox-type of plugins as some of the functions became deprecated without rollback support. In order to stabilize your website and still use your favorite plugins you’ll need to operate a minor change to your code and add an official migration script provided by jQuery. Here’s how to do it.

1. Go to <head> section of your file and find this line:

<script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

2. Just below this line add:

<script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-migrate-1.0.0.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

3. Reupload your file to the FTP and everything should be working properly with the latest jQuery release.
