Two questions: - Is there a way to randomize background images or change the background image on certain pages? - Is there a way to add a page image above the content block? or add a less high slider such as on home?

1. You could use a plugin for that, for example I tested this one with Soundboard: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/background-manager/

2. You would have to add the code for the image to the file header.php, if you want to display it on each page, above the content.

As for your question: In the file slider.php, line 36, change

echo "<a href="$cf"><img src="{$src}" alt="" title="$caption" /></a>";

to

echo "<a href="$cf" target="_blank"><img src="{$src}" alt="" title="$caption" /></a>";

(This form here seems to reformat single quotes into double quotes. Make sure to use single quotes, except for first and last quote)

i’m having trouble getting the soundcloud to integrate. all i can get is the picture of the cloud, which the user has to click to get the player to come up. Is that configuration of soundcloud or a limitation of soundboard?

I tried the soundcloud plugin but it kept giving a fatal error and i dont have anything else installed that would cause that (i dont think) Fatal error: Cannot redeclare soundcloud_shortcode() (previously declared in /home2/sensatio/public_html/wp-content/themes/soundboard/includes/shortcodes/shortcode-soundcloud.php:39) in /home2/sensatio/public_html/wp-content/plugins/soundcloud-shortcode/soundcloud-shortcode.php on line 103

Hey throbins.. glad you still enjoy working with Soundboard!

SoundCloud is already included in the theme. Deactivate the SoundCloud plugin and the error will disappear.

Click on the Soundcloud icon to open up the SoundCloud player in a lightbox. If you want to display the player right on the page instead of a lightbox, there is an option for this in Theme Options > General > Custom CSS.

thanks! i have very little clue about coding… tried using the tags on here http://developers.soundcloud.com/docs/custom-player# but they were just getting deleted. is that because they arent in PHP? do you know exactly what i would paste into the custom css box?

I’m sorry.. I didn’t mean Custom CSS.. (where was my mind? ) There is an option at the bottom of Theme Options > General:

“On Album page, display SoundCloud and JW Player within content instead of within a lightbox.”

Hi there, I was hoping to use this theme for a record company, however I will need to have a separate blog, photo album, front page and show page for each artist. Is there a way to use this theme for multiple artists under one label? Can I edit the nav menu up top to link to each artists’ page (there are 4 artists). thanks!

Hey goldylamont! You can edit the nav menu and add whatever nav item you want. But in order to have multiple tour dates and gallery pages, it would require some theme customization (duplicating and editing some theme files). You can not have multiple blogs, but you can have a different blog category for each artist and then display blog posts of a certain category only for each artist….

Hi Gerda, For some reason my store is showing both your arrows and the woo commerce arrows for increasing the amount of a selected item in the store. You can see it here, http://deltamainline.com/shop/oh-enlightened-pre-order-vinyl/ next to the number of vinyls you select. There are your plus and minus and there is the woo commerce up and down arrow, which both do the same thing but look very confusing.

Oh you are right. For some reason those extra arrows do not display in Firefox. I will try to find out what is causing this and fix this in the next update. Until then, here is a temporary code that you can enter into Theme Options > General > Custom CSS to fix this issue:

Hello! Your theme’s fantastic – thanks! One question: I’m trying to build my store with woocommerce and the “add to cart” button on the product page doesn’t seem to be working. I’ve tried to find a solution through woocommerce but they seem to say it’s probably an incompatibility with the theme? Wondering if you have any ideas… Also, from searching around the web, people make mention of an AJAX feature that should maybe be turned off, but I can’t find it. First and foremost I would like to say it’s definitely a pleasure purchasing a theme such as this from you guys. The theme is amazing and what you can do with it is great as well. I do have a couple questions though to ask.

1. Is their a way i can put the search box in the menu bar above? And is their a way I can put my social icons in the empty white space between the menu and slider? 2. In “theme options” I tried to upload instagram icon but it won’t let. It asks to retrieve the link to instagram icon but i can’t find where to retrieve it. 3. When I post something is thier a way to remove the date for the post because i do not want the date to show. Reason being certian posts for certain pages wouldn’t need dates so can I do something about that?

1. All of this would require some customization work in the theme files.

2. In order to display an instagram icon in the footer, you would have to save that icon on your computer (download fore example from here: http://www.iconfinder.com/search/?q=instagram) and then upload it to your server (for example in your WordPress installation via Media > Add New), then copy the full URL of the icon and enter it in Theme Optiona > Social > Link to additional icon 1. Also enter the width of the icon and the URL to the social profile.

3. In order to remove the date for news posts, enter the following code into Theme Options > General > Custom CSS:

#home-news .time-ago {display: none;}

.post-date {
    display: none !important;
}

.postinfo {
    margin-top: 0;
}

Second, I’m getting a web banner created for the home page… what is the measurement of the slider below the menu bar because I’m going to have my banner measured according to the same size as your slider. Once that is done how can I place my banner above the menu bar?

The slider (including the 20px transparent border) has a size of 980px x 400px. Do you want the banner additionally to the logo or instead of it?

But on every page, yes? Well then you can simply upload that banner in Theme Options > General > Logo … and it will display instead of the logo. And then enter the follwing code into Theme Options > General > Custom CSS, in order to change the width from 940 to 980:

That would require quite a bit of customization work! (in the file includes/metaboxes/config_meta_boxes add new custom field within the TOURDATES section, and then modify template_tourdates.php to show the image/button)

Thank you for this great theme. I has worked really well for the site we have just built. I have only got one problem: I have filled in the email field for the contact form and published but the emails are not coming through. I’ve tried a couple of different email addresses. Is there a possibility that permissions on the server/files might be the problem? (I had a problem with permissions when I first started building the site). The site is at www.jonathanwhiskerd.com.

If your contact page seems to work on the front-end but doesn’t deliver mail (also check your junk mail folder!), be sure that your server supports the sendmail protocol (ask your server admin if this is set up). If you can’t activate it, I would recommend to get a plugin for your contact page (like “contact form 7” for example)

Great theme of course! I recently updated both the Soundboard theme and WP (from 3.4.1 to 3.5.1). All went well, but my JWPlayer doesn’t seem to be working properly. None of the audio plays on the album pages or with shortcodes and some of the videos play while other don’t.

Some things I tried . . . 1. Tried user both ver. 5 and 6 of JW Player 2. Removed the JW Player files and copied new files from the theme folder (under audio) 3. Double checked my shortcodes for spaces (as you show in your documenation).

What am I overlooking?

Hi there.

I have managed to upload the zip file of the soundboard theme but then when I click “activate” it just goes to a blank white screen and says this at the top:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class Mobile_Detect in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage21/gr/ee/ni/greeniedrums.com/public_html/wp-content/themes/soundboard/includes/functions/mobile_detect.php on line 16

The webpage is totally down when this shows and the wordpress log in page is the same, a white screen and shows the above message too.

Only way I can fix it is to delete the theme through the Firefox FTP again then I can log in. Tried it a few times and keeps coming up with that message.

Do you know what the problem could be?

Hey David.. thanks for purchasing Soundboard!

That sounds like you activated a plugin that is using the “mobile detect” function. That function is already included in Soundboard and can not redecleared twice. That’s why you are getting the error.

Deactivate all your plugins before activating Soundboard. Then you can activate one plugin by one to see which one is causing the problem.

Hey-hey, I have another question. In your demo you were able to remove the product name above the products. How can I do that? On my page the product name is shown above the product and above the description. I’d like to be able to have it above the description only just like in your demo. This is also causing the name of my first product to be shown above the title, ALL PRODUCTS. This is the page http://viernes13.net/shop/

Right.. on the demo page I am still using the old WooCommerce plugin (before 2.0) I will release an update soon, so that the title in WC 2.0 will only display once. Until then, here is a code that you can put into Theme Options > General > Custom CSS:
